Oleathia did a great job of assisting me in planning our Volcano Safari trip which we took on our 45th wedding anniversary. Junior, our tour guide, picked us up on schedule, and the van was clean and in good condition, There were only two other couples on the trip which created a nice small tour group. Junior is a local Hawaiian and was extremely informative about all of the places we visited. He has a marvelous sense of humor and created a fun atmosphere. The scenic drive took us to waterfalls, lava caves, the 2018 lava flow area, several beaches, and, we were also treated to a side trip to the local zoo. The day was rainy, and we were provided with umbrellas when we needed them, and water and snacks were provided, too. I highly recommend this trip for all ages in any kind of weather, and if you're lucky, you'll have Junior be your guide.

Ellen was flexible and took us further than we expected. She was enthusiastic and helpful. We were comfortable in the 14 passenger van. Nice not to be on a huge bus. That said, Ellen needs to polish her narrative presentation. Her information about volcanoes seemed quite thorough, but she did not include anything about the ancient Hawaiian Pele legends. While a short personal introduction is appropriate, she spent too much time talking about herself and not enough about Hawaii. She did seem eager to improve her knowledge, so it’s likely she will become more professional as a guide with more study and experience.

Enjoyed this tour very much, saw the effects of the 2018 eruption and the facts presented by our tour guide “Junior “ were very informative. Thoroughly met expectations. Lots of other interesting stops during the day. This was a small group tour and would recommend this tour for those who have already visited the National Volcano Park.

Cruise ship passengers got first priority seating on a cramped and full bus. Since we were not on a cruise, my spouse and I were separated. Me in the last seat center of five seats; she was seated a few rows in front. The sandwich line to accommodate us took about 45 minutes in total. The tour stops were good and the tour director/ driver was very social and informative.

Aloha Joseph, you didn't take the Volcano Safari Tour. You were on the Volcanoes National Park tour. So many places are currently still closed for food and its been tough on everyone. I'm sorry we have to pick up from the port first if a cruise ship is in. However, you never should have been sat apart from your wife and why we leave seats open and the guide should have helped organize that. I will be sure to go over this with the crew. So glad you enjoyed the guide and beautiful sights!

We got caught up with the South West Airline meltdown and only got informed that our flight was going to be delayed by 2 hours at 3am on 28th-Dec.
I messaged the tour company at around 3.30am advising that our flights would be delayed and arriving at 9.45am into Hilo airport and this was the time the tour was scheduled to start from Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
At around 3.50am I got a message from the tour company and I was advised that perhaps I could meet the tour group at their 1s stop which is roughly going to be around by 10.30am giving us enough time to come out of the airport terminal and catch a 11min taxi ride to Rainbow falls.
Oleathea from the tour company was so amazing and very helpful and stayed in contact with us via WhatsApp with our location and coordinating with the tour guide finally being able to meet the tour group at Rainbow Falls just before 10.30am.
Tour guide (Kenny) welcomed us so warmly with the biggest smile while we were trying to catch our breath after all the rush/stressful early morning 😌.
Kenny offered us water and then introduced us to the rest of the group which was very touching as we did not think we could make it on time for the tour.
The tour itself was very enjoyable and Kenny kept us well informed on all the places we visited prior to arrival so we were well aware on what to look for etc .
At the end of the tour we had to go back to the airport to catch our return fight to Honolulu and Kenny was so kind enough to drop us to the airport terminal after dropping rest of the tour group at the port. This for me was simply going that extra mile and THANK YOU KENNY 😁😁.
Definitely recommend this tour for anyone planning a quick tour in Hilo. 😌

Junior, our tour guide, was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable about the area. He took us to Rainbow Falls, to see the lava tube, lava trees and the lava fields, as well as stopping at the newest black sand beach. It was amazing that most of this happened because of events that happened not that long ago!! Junior was super friendly and very personable and highly recommended requesting him as your tour guide!!

Aloha Kristy it really is amazing! That huge black sand beach was just created in 2018 and prior to that is was just ocean.....hence the reason for the boat ramp now covered with land around it LOL. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review ❤

This was the best tour we experienced on the islands. We were on the Pride of America cruise and I researched excursions and purchased prior to going to Hawaii. Ellen was a fantastic guide with never ending wealth of knowledge about the island and the volcanic events. The stops were amazing, even the rainy weather could not dampen our day in Hilo. Ellen even had disposable rain ponchos and snacks for us. Highly recommend this tour!

Four of us were booked for the Volcano Safari while in Hilo for the day with NCL. It did not disappoint. Luana and Kayla were amazing. Very friendly, knowledgeable and were willing and open to suggestions. They are both new so we expected some snafus but there were little to speak of, really. They have firsthand knowledge of the places we went and were able to go places that any cruise excursion would never have gone. Well worth the price and time. My one suggestion would be to map out the day a little better to be a little more succinct. We backtracked quite a bit and probably could have either been back earlier or squeezed in another place. All in all, a great day! Will definitely recommend!

Pretty full bus . Was greeted on time by our host Ellen. She was very knowledgeable in all aspects of our day tour .
She brought us a small gift bag to keep us hydrated and was always on hand for photos / information .
