Kayak around the islands of Kailua Bay spotting green sea turtles and visiting bird sanctuaries with a guided or self-guided tour. Before the self-guided tour, receive area information and recommendations before setting out on your own. The small-group guided tour includes commentary on the area's plant and animal life, as well as round-trip transportation from select Waikiki hotels. Plus, both versions of the tour include lunch.
What to Expect
Your tour begins at the Kailua Bay kayak shop. There, get outfitted with equipment and given a safety orientation and basic kayaking instruction.

Before setting off on the self-guided tour, receive a briefing of the area and recommendations for making the most of your adventure. It’s relatively easy to paddle from Kailua Beach to the Mokulua Islands, Flat Island, and Lanikai Beach, plus you’ll have a choice of several spots to land. When finished, return to the shop to use its facilities if desired. This tour is suitable for all experience levels and ages and includes a selection of lunch options.

If you’re on the guided tour, get picked up at your Waikiki hotel and transported to the kayak shop, where you’ll meet your guide and get your gear. From there, head out to the Mokulua Island seabird sanctuary. Plus, take a dip in the freshwater pools at Queen's Bath on the island. Next, snorkel off Lanikai Beach where you might spot sea turtles. This tour is suitable for fit kayakers, including children ages 13 years and older. A picnic lunch on the beach is provided.
