        Fantastic trip and crew
This is an outstanding charter. We did the sail and snorkel. The captain and crew really enhanced the experience. They were all very friendly, professional, and accommodating. Sailing out to location was an added plus. The boat is set up perfectly and there was plenty of room for large group.

        THE BEST SUNSET CRUISE
This is THE BEST CRUISE to take when you are in Hawaii! We've take the sunset cruise 4 times in the past 3 years and it never disappoints. Great staff, beautiful catamaran, cocktails, dolphins and a sunset all in 2 hours. ❤️ If you have never experience a sunset in Hawaii from a catamaran you are missing out. We will be back in the Fall to do this again.

        Enjoyable Snorkeling and Sailing Tour
We booked the snorkeling and luau combination. The snorkeling trip was great. We even saw a humpback whale on our return, which was very late in the season.

Unsure Of Cost & Duration-- Best Experience
Time for the ultimate ocean experience was worth uncertainity. A reasonable cost if delay, reschedule, or what is there... Especially, if considering food, duration, and gear. The different packs of dolphins are unique during lapse in time of their waterway. The other sea life is marvelous. A great refreshing site and curiousity of other activites or places near this adventure later. Most recommended for duration of the adventure and what is there...

        Awesome sunset cruise!!
The cruise was a10 out of 10. First, the staff was amazing, responsive to everyone's requests. Second, the cocktails and snacks were excellent. Third, just being on a beautiful boat on the Pacific Ocean to watch a spectacular sunset was wonderful. We had an awesome time.

        Great afternoon snorkeling trip
The crew was amazing. Captain Travis was professional, friendly and easy to talk to. The crew of Kourtney, Kylie and Kyle were all knowledgeable and did their jobs well. All of them made sure we had beverages when we wanted. And the snorkeling was amazing with the fish food, thousands of fish surrounded us. My young adult daughters were so excited when the fish surrounded them. My parents who are in their late eighties had a great time riding on the boat and talking to the crew and the crew made sure they got on and off safely. Overall a great experience.

        Ko Olina Snorkel Morning Charter
We had a wonderful day on board with Ko Olina Adventures. Our captain Travis and crew were very attentive. They went around various times through our charter to offer us drinks and food. We went to electric beach to snorkel off shore and saw at least 10 turtles and tons of fish! **Tip purchase the fish food! It’s worth it! Weather was great, small swells and 10 mph winds. We took the morning charter.

        Awesome experience
It was my 1st time in Hawaii. This sunset cruise was amazing! The staff were very welcoming and very attentive and kind. Drinks and the appetizers were great! We were able to see dolphins right up close and see whales from a far.. even though the clouds had moved in a bit during the sunset, it did not hinder from the experience. Would go again! Great place and great vibe!

I was so looking forward to this snorkel tour which I had booked based off of reviews and a positive email exchange with the company. My excitement was so high that I even persuaded a girlfriend of mine (who is stationed in Hawaii with the military) to join on this tour, when she had recommended other tours she thought might be better.

This tour promised everything a snorkeler and water lover could dream of: snorkeling with spinner dolphins, sea turtles and amongst beautiful reefs with colorful fish. I must say, this tour delivered none of that.

The two snorkel spots we went to were barely reefs, reefs too deep to see many (if any) fish and the water was murky. The instructors didn’t join the snorkelers in the water and just left us to fend for ourselves and search out any sea life. We never swam with sea turtles (saw them from a distance) and never once saw a dolphin.

I understand these tours can not guarantee such things as sea life can be unpredictable, but, then they shouldn’t oversell this tour as something it’s not.

By contrast, I went on a snorkel tour two days prior in Waikiki to Turtle Ridge and actually did snorkel with amazing sea turtles, saw dolphins and so many beautiful fish. If I hadn’t done an impromptu sign up for that tour, I would’ve left Hawaii disappointed.

My advice, don’t book with Ko Olina, even if you are staying in Ko Olina. It’s probably one of the worst snorkel experiences of my life.

I’ve snorkeled in: The Maldives, Vietnam, Bali, Cayman Islands, The Bahamas, Costa Rica, Panama, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Great Barrier Reef and sadly consider this my worst snorkel experience ever.

I am an experienced snorkeler and scuba diver. I signed up to do this tour for the opportunity to get to swim near wild dolphins. Out of the four hour tour time, I spent about 10 min getting to see dolphins from the boat, and 3 minutes in the water swimming with dolphins. The majority of the tour is spent at other snorkel sites where dolphins don't hang out.

This is a good snorkel tour for tourists who have never snorkeled before. A lot of time is spent going over instructions for the beginners. Safety is definitely a priority, and the staff only let people get in the water slowly. As an experienced snorkeler, it was frustrating for me since I had to wait for the whole group to be released.

Something I think anyone considering this tour should know is that a full tour will have about 30 people on it. I really think that it was way too large of a group, especially for just the 2 staff members aboard the boat.

This next part is probably way more than you could ever want to know, but I found that the description of the tour on the company website is pretty vague, so I will describe my experience so you may have a better idea of what to really expect and plan accordingly. I was disappointed and I wish I had known better what to expect.

      - I selected the 11 am tour. I drove myself and my 2 companions. It is easy to park at the Marina and it is $10 total for the whole day.

      - You check in at 11, hang out on a patio area near the marina, plan for tour starting at 11:30 am. There are nice bathrooms at the check in area, and you can also buy some sodas, snacks and beers, and t-shirts in the check in shop.

      - You can pay to buy fish food or disposable underwater camera or rent a wetsuit ahead of time, or when you check in. If you go in the summer months, you won't need a wetsuit, the ocean water is pleasantly warm.

      - Around 11:30, you are taken to board the boat. It is a speed boat with 8 rows of 4 forward facing seats. My tour was full, which means you will be sitting shoulder to shoulder with people. The boat is well covered, and there is dry storage under your seat for your bag and towel.

      - After you are in a seat, the staff pass out fins for you to try on. However, the rows are narrow, not to the point of discomfort, but too narrow for the middle to passengers to be able to try on fins. Next was the life vest, which is this big yellow rubber thing. I do not understand why there are not staff members assisting guests to try on their equipment after they have checked in and while they are waiting to board the boat. There is very little room for everyone to be trying things on. Staff do not even suggest people move out and sit on the big rubber siding of the boat so that all the guests can try on equipment. That is basic common sense, but unfortunately it seems to be in quite short supply for the majority of the population.

      - Next the staff give a brief safety overview. They then announce that everyone will need to wear their life vest during the snorkel. Regardless of your swimming ability. They state that it doesn't matter if you are a certified lifeguard, rescue diver or part mermaid, you will need to wear a life vest for the first snorkel and when with the dolphins. You will be allowed to snorkel without the life vest at the second spot if they recognize that you are a competent swimmer.

I understand the rational of this safety precaution. However, I was still really disappointed. I have never snorkeled with a life vest because I like to do some short free dives. I have also done a few other snorkel tours in Hawaii (Captain Cook island and Molikini Crater) where life vests were offered to all snorkelers, but they were not required. I understand this is their safety policy, but based on other snorkel tours I have done, this was unexpected and disappointing to me.

-The first snorkel spot was off of Electric Beach. However it was a very poor snorkel spot. There are other parts of electric beach where you can snorkel that is significantly better (which they actually take you to at the end). The coral is dead, brown and really nothing to look at. Do not expect to see any dolphins there, dolphins simply don't hang out in that area. Staff do not plan for you to see dolphins there, but it is very minutely possible.
You are taken there simply as a general snorkel opportunity. I assume it is for the beginner people to try to get used to snorkeling. There is a small smattering of fish. If you have bought the fish food, this is the best time to use it. It is mostly trigger fish, surgeon fish, and some needle fish. We spent probably about another 20-30 min at this site.

      - Next they actually take you up the coast to the spinner dolphin hang out. We did get to see the spinner dolphins swimming, jumping and flipping out to the water. That is nice. But just know again, it is a small boat with 30 people on it, and it may be hard for you to get to a good view. For getting to snorkel in the water near the dolphins staff again, when through a briefing of how you people would need to slide into the water from the back of the boat as it slowly drove away. The staff stated you would need to be very still in the water, just float and look at the dolphins. They described that the dolphins would be able to tell your presence in the water and movement would make them swim away. I was immensely impatient watching these dolphins swim away as the crew went through the briefings and corralling all of the guests and children to get ready for this. They come around to give everyone de-fog before each time you get in the water. When in the water I saw a pod of 5 spinner dolphins swim about 20 feet below me in a V-shape formation. Dolphins move fast, so they are out of view in about 45 seconds. And of course the other tour guests are kicking and moving around in the water, as they are unable to follow directions. There was no other coral and fish around the dolphins.

We boarded the boat again, looking for another pod of dolphins. We got to see dolphins more from the boat. Again, I was incredibly frustrated about having to wait on the boat instead of getting to be in the water with them. At least this time I was the second person in the water and I did get to see a better glimpse of dolphins. I was probably about 30 feet away from them. I did see two playing, one had a white rag on its tail fin and another was trying to catch it. I did see about 20 other dolphins behind them in a tight pod swimming. Again, I got to see the dolphins for a maximum of 3 minutes before they were out of site. That was really good. I just wish the entire tour would have been like this.

This was what I was expecting from this tour and I was disappointed that it was such a small part of the tour. I had to put up with listening to a lot of annoying conversations from other guests yelling above the sounds of the speed boat for 4 hours...

Because after the short time with the dolphins, we went back to electric beach and we went to an actual pretty place to snorkel. Honestly couldn't have been much more than 200ft away from the first place we stopped to snorkel. The coral there was brighter colors, and probably some of the best snorkeling on Oahu. The current was a little strong. There were the same fish as the first stop at electric beach, but not as many. I really wish this tour stopped here first (completely skipping the other site), and then spent the rest of the time allowing us to have as many opportunities swim near the dolphins.

This website advertised a light snack, ice tea, water and coffee aboard the boat. You are given a package of cheese crackers and a nature valley bar as the snack. The only drink aboard the boat was a cooler of water. They give you a 3 oz paper triangle cup so you can get water from the cooler. That is the drinks you are actually given on board. I thought the snack was fine, but I expected better for the drinks on board based on the advertising on their website. You don't get iced tea or lemonade until the lunch after the tour. You can bring your own drinks and put them in their cooler. I recommend you do that. Or at least your own water bottle. I thought they would have those, but no....

1 staff member who had been on the boat had to jump off and set up the lunch for everyone. I really think that someone else should have had the lunch ready, since we were running a little late. The lunch was pretty good, you're always hungry after swimming. However, we were tight on time, and I really wish you had the option to skip the meal and just pay less for your tour.

Hope this helps you decide if this is the right tour for you. And I hope this helps the company make some changes.

We booked the dolphin snorkel tour, which includes snorkeling 2 reefs and snorkeling with wild dolphins! Our captain, Antonio, was hilarious. He also went out of his way to find the dolphins for us, and calmly instructed how we should and should not interact with them. Kelly, his first mate, was very knowledgeable about the dolphins and other marine life we encountered. Anthony, a photographer, was on board and took photos of everyone and the wildlife. After this tour, we had a delicious lunch.

If you have never snorkelled before you might find this a valuable experience. If you have snorkelled before you will likely be very disappointed. The reefs are not impressive but I suspect that is a consequence of global warming. You will see fish, and yes lots of them, but they will be the same one or two types. One area visited for snorkelling is really a very deep area which could be thrilling if you have never had that experience in deep water, but again, there isn't much to see. We didn't see any dolphins but the crew really seemed to try and that is a risk you take with this type of excursion. If we had seen dolphins maybe that would have changed my rating somewhat. Crew was friendly, helpful, diligent. Pick-up van service was effective and friendly. Perhaps bring an extra towel/blanket for warmth depending on weather. The provided meal at the end is a waste of calories on a island like Hawaii with such good and unique foods. The meal was all processed and felt like takeout from Costco. Unfortunately too much money for what we got and was not a substitute for being blithe on a beach somewhere.

I cannot rate these folks highly enough. I have only snorkelled once before, captain jenna and kelly the assistant gave everyone a clear education on what to do. They were very patient with some of the slightly rowdier travellers. We sped out to the first snorkel area, which was good. Then on way to search for the dolphins, we spotted a female tiger shark. We were assisted at this time by 2 blokes on jetskis looking out for this type of thing. Kelly was a shark expert and got on the back of the jetski to follow shark for a little while. She got some great photos of it. After this we spotted the dolphins a bit further away. Slid into the water, and i saw them, shapes really because i was slightly further away. But my friends were right above them. After this we went to the 2nd snorkel area. In we went again, this time my other friend had spotted a turtle, so i swam over and we watched from a safe distance. Only to be joined a 2nd turtle. What an experience. Then we were off at speed for lunch, provided by the company. Absolutely brilliant day.

My Experience at the Ko Olina Ocean Adventure was Fantastic!! I was hesitant about Snorkeling at Electric Beach but Cam and Shannon was very patient and encouraging.
When we first looked at the speedboat we thought it was a joke. This is a speedboat?
Well, YES! It was fast and skimmed the water with lightning speed! After we left the harbor, of course!
We absolutely LOVED the Snorkeling in Safe areas and under the Watchful Eyes of the crew! The fish and coral were beautiful. Saw a huge green Turtle with a Big head the size of a small bowling ball.
We went to 2 areas for snorkeling and Shannon dove down to show us some starfish and sea urchins and we held them. Of course she gently returned them.
Cam & Shannon had a little trouble looking for Dolphins so they went out of their way to look for other animals and found some rare Pilot Whales. It was weird out in the ocean having the whales looking back at us with curiosity. It was amazing!
Lunch was waiting for us at the Ko Olina Marina and it was delish! The 3 hours flew by.
THIS IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET FOR SNORKELING!! I DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE A REVIEW BUT FELT THAT OTHERS SHOULD EXPERIENCE THIS ADVENTURE! I WILL BE BACK VERY SOON! DON'T KNOW WHY BUS TOURS AREN'T HERE BUT BETTER FOR US!! ALOHA OI!

Overall, my family and I enjoyed our time. The crew was very friendly and inviting and informative/knowledgable. Although we brought our own gear, all snorkel gear is provided for you. Unfortunately, we did not get to see any dolphins while we swam but we did get to see some Bottlenose dolphins from the boat. We also sighted a few turtles while snorkeling.

My reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of where they take you to snorkel. I live here on Oahu and have been snorkeling at Electric Beach many times. The boat leads you to a spot right off the coast of Electric Beach where the reef is literally non-existent/dead...barely any fish or anything to see there. It honestly just made no sense that they would bring us there. The numerous tourists on the trip did not seem to notice though.

This is the second dolphin tour I have been on. The other one was called Dolphins and You, which departs out of Waianae Harbor. I preferred that trip over this one because they put a water slide off the boat, better snorkel locations, and we saw many dolphins (but i know you cannot control if you see dolphins or not). They also provide your lunch for you on the boat while the Ocean Adventures provides you lunch after the tour off the boat.

We had crew members Austin and a woman who's name I forgot give us our snorkle tour. It was a bucket list for my daughter's senior trip. I thought my anxiety of snorkeling would prevent me from participating in this adventure, but Austin and his coleader both went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and at ease. They made sure of our safety and guided us to experience the chance to swim with sea life side by side. I highly recommend them and booking with Austin and his coleader!!!!

The catamaran was out of service so we went out on the speed boat. The deck crew was wonderful and informative and fun. They took us to 3 total spots for snorkeling. Plenty of time in the water. They provided the gear and it was in great shape, not worn out junk. They provided a light lunch when we returned and the ground transportation to and from. Great value for the money spent.
