We (a couple) did a 10-day tour across Namibia and had a fantastic experience.
Ahead of the trip WWS provided timely and clear information, being available to reply to any questions we had regarding itinerary, prices, lodges, etc.
Once on the trip, the car used for the tour (Ford Ranger) was very comfortable and spacious.
The lodges selected were all very nice (see one exception below) and the optional activities proposed in each destination were diverse and fun.
Special mention to Rolencia, our excellent guide, who made our trip as easy and comfortable as it gets. She went above and beyond to ensure that we made the most out of it. Her knowledge of Etosha park proved to be very helpful in seeing as much wildlife as possible. She also made the trip very interesting with her vast knowledge about the country, and by engaging in very interesting conversations.
I would definitely recommend this agency, and Rolencia as a guide, if you are looking into travelling to Namibia (which you should as it is an amazing destination).
The only downside, but which in my view has a rather easy fix, concerns the proposed accommodation in Etosha. We were supposed to stay 3 nights in Halali, but the place is very run down, and also there was not much wildlife around it. So as a suggestion, I would advise to go to for Namutoni (which may be a bit more expensive than Halali). In our case, it made a huge difference and made our Etosha experience a lot nicer as not only the accommodation was much nicer, but also it had plenty of wildlife around it (11 lions, 3 cheetahs, 2 rhinos, plus all the rest).

Hello Enrique
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent 10-day tour across Namibia with us. We are thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic experience and that our team was able to provide you with timely and clear information before your trip. We are glad to hear that you found the Ford Ranger car to be comfortable and spacious and that the lodges selected were all very nice.
We appreciate your mention of Rolencia, our guide, who went above and beyond to ensure that you had an easy and comfortable trip. We are happy to hear that her knowledge of Etosha Park proved to be helpful in seeing as much wildlife as possible and that she engaged you in interesting conversations about the country.
We are sorry to hear that the proposed accommodation in Halali unfortunately did not meet your expectations, but we are grateful for your suggestion to consider Namutoni instead. Regarding wildlife sightings near these camps, it changes seasonally, so during various seasons it may be Halali featuring more sightings.
Thank you for recommending our agency and Rolencia as a guide to others looking to travel to Namibia. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on another adventure soon!
Best regards,
Philip

My wife and I had a ten-day private tour in Namibia and had selected the main sites from the Nambib desert to Brandberg, Damaraland, Himba tribe close to Opuwo and Etosha NP. The organisation was perfect, everything went smooth, in spite of the long drivings and the January heat. The mid-range accommodations we had opted for were excellent and provided great service, and the available pools helped us cool off and recuperate easily.
Our seasoned driver and learned guide was Rambo, whom we thank a thousand times for his help and for his extended knowledge in all domains, from history and geography, to botanics and geology, including wildlife. Thanks to him we were able to see all mammals and cats that roam through the park. He was a very attentive and friendly travel companion.
Thanks to Philip too for finalising the tour for us at the last minute.
A reliable tour operator.

Namibia a stunning country with its wilderness and vastness with such incredible landscape and impressive wildlife will remain one of our best travel memories with our guide Rambo.
He knows the country better than his pocket, a very nice and pleasant man who was always ready to answer all our questions in all fields and on all subjects.
In Etosha Park we have seem all the animals Elephant, Rhino, Zebra, Giraffe, Springbok, Lion, Ostrich, Oryx, Gnu ...
We were lucky enough to see a Leopard that was missing from our Big Five list. Rambo knows Etosha Park better than anyone, he knows the behavior of each animal, their habits, where to go to observe them...
We couldn't have had a better guide around the country. Everyday in a good mood with a smile, very professional in all aspects and very reliable. We felt very safe and secured throughout the tour, in a word an outstanding guide that we can highly recommend and that we thank.

Dear Hughes and Dominique,
It's time and again just how wonderful is to receive a review which summarizes our Guests experiences as 'one of our best travel memories'! Thank you for taking the time to share and most of all thank you for traveling with us!
I made sure to forward your kind words to Rambo, hope it will inspire him further on in his guiding profession.
Good guide is a vital part of each tour. Just like this fitting quote from one of the travel blogs: 'Tour guides are often an essential component of a great trip. They can be a wealth of information and a valuable resource when learning about a new destination. A quality tour guide should show accurate and significant knowledge while providing an engaging experience for guests.'
All the best, happy and safe travels,
With sunny cheers,
Philip

I booked my very first safari with Wild Wind Safaris. Philip my consultant truly went above and beyond, finding answers to questions I didn't even ask, sharing their direct, honest opinions, quick emailing never trying to upsell me when they easily could have succeeded. I highly recommend this company! I just returned from a 12 day trip around Namibia, a truly awesome experience. From this limited experience, I can tell that selecting the right tour guide can be the difference between a great and an awesome trip. Anyone can spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, etc. However, Rambo from WWS sought out all local wildlife, which he was clearly familiar with. Moreover, it is not just the mammals which are fascinating, but also the birdlife and flora, for which he had an equally great grasp. He was experienced, kind, funny and so knowledgeable! The lodging experience, was equally phenominal. I cannot picture touring Nambinia any other way, and have already advised Rambo of my intent to return for a signficantly longer tour, using their services, within the next couple of years. Also it should be mentioned that Rambo considered in light if Covid-19 all precautions and was always concerned about health safety.

Dear Hanna S
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts with us as well as with greater family of global travelers! We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to do so.
I totally agree with you that having an experienced guide on tour, such as Rambo, makes so much of a difference in overall travel experience - and I am sure it was especially important to you on your first safari! To be completely honest with you it's in fact the guides who can either 'make it or brake it' on tour and who are able to greatly contribute to our Clients memorable journeys. Thankfully at Wild Wind, we are working with friendly, knowledgeable, polite and experienced guides, who enjoy their guiding and look after and care for each Guest.
As the Namibian tour operator, we adhere to covid protocols, to ensure our Clients safety, comfort, hygiene and ease of travel, and I truly appreciate you mentioning it in your review.
You are very welcome to contact me any time best suitable for you, should you have your next African safari in mind - we are here to assist you! All our returnee Guests are a true compliment to our entire team!
With warmest regards

We, family of 8 completed a 10 days tour with wild wind Safaris in December,2019.
Our tour guide, Philip, took care of us during the entire trip. He is most knowledgeable about his way around Namibia. We have seen the Big Five in Etosha , climbed the Big Daddy . Philip was there early in the morning to get us to the climb at 5:45 am to watch the sunrise. He taught us how to make our ways down the sand dunes . We had so much fun and we were briefed early on how to get ourselves down from the peak of Big Daddy. David , we also like to thank you on how willing and accommodating you were to point out how to plan our trip in details .
I highly recommend Wild Wind Safaris as your tour operator as they are great to deal with, quick to respond, eager to deliver. Thank you for making our trip such a memorable experience.

This includes your eager and wonderful participation.

Thank you for your commendation for our company and our efforts - it is received with gratitude and smile :-)
Kind regards and hope to see you back in Namibia.

Wild Wind was an excellent provider. My guide Elvis and I had a great time. Everything went incredibly smoothly, and even when things had to be changed there were no hiccups. The quality of loding was great, and the camping was awesome. Elvis was able to make incredible dishes at the campfire and the experience never felt like it was a "budget" tour. Even though I was slated for a budget trip, Wild Wind treated me to a luxury tent for my last night too. It is clear this company knows what they are doing and truly care about their customers and their experience. Elvis was second to none and I enjoyed my time with him immensely.

Dear noahr211
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experiences while on tour with us.
Just the title of your review 'Amazing ten days' already sounds great! And then is followed by so many positively-sounding descriptions: 'excellent', 'great', 'incredibly smoothly', 'no hiccups', ' awesome', 'incredible dishes', 'never felt like it was a (camping) budget tour', ' treated to luxury tent', 'care', 'I enjoyed...immensely' - not to copy your entire enthusiastic review! How fantastic is to read it and pass it on to our team.
This is precisely - in your own words - wrapped up what we are here for: to 'truly care about our Customers and their experiences'.
Thanks for traveling with us and hope to see you again!
Sunny cheers

It was my first time in Africa and I was beyond amazed by the diversity of landscape and wildlife. We hopped from one highlight to another, and weren’t disappointed by any bit of the trip. Barring the underpopulation, traveling through Namibia felt like I was in the west - roads, shops and housing look very neat and suburban. I felt safer there than I have in many developed countries. Our guide Kudo was most well informed about the ins and outs of every experience that we had, and overall pleasant to be around. Be mindful that it’s a vast country so you are driving for up to 500km per day. Despite that, we were never too tired as the trip was very well planned. Also, even though I booked the tour very last minute, Philip was very smooth about it and even accommodated my request to upgrade hotel.
Just one point to note - I got the impression that people aren’t very cognizant of dietary restrictions in Namibia so would advise you to be very firm about it from the beginning

Dear Maheen S
Thank you very much for kind review and appraisal for our team! Much appreciated and well-received.
It always inspires us to hear from our Guests, especially from the 'first time' visitors to Africa (or Namibia) - it just works wonderfully refreshing, like a glass of bubbly Champagne in the desert!
Thank you for sharing your experiences, observations and 'wow' moments. We're sure it will be helpful to global travelers who are planning their trip to Namibia, but maybe are still little hesitant to 'go to Africa'. Our guides will make sure to look well after each Guest and convey interesting input throughout the tour, to ensure it's an enriching journey.
I sincerely appreciate your note regarding 'dietary requirements' - this is very important to us. On each booking form Guests are requested to include their special requirements, and we have indeed received yours. I sincerely apologize if some lodges or restaurants very not fully prepared to cater for these specific needs. Before your tour's departure we have notified all lodges of your 'dietary requirements', so I am truly not sure why it was not respected? May I please ask you to send me a private email with places which did not cater sufficiently, I would like to communicate with each one and double-check regarding their preparedness to care for Guests with special 'dietary requirements'.
While our Guests are already on tour our Whats App or email lines remain accessible and our Guests are very welcome to communicate their concerns or remind us of their requests, should Guests feel anything is somewhat missing during their journey. If I may also kindly suggest for your future travels to do just that: immediately revert back to your tour provider, guide, operator, lodge or restaurant to ensure your 'dietary requirements' are provided satisfactorily.
Wishing you wonderful and safe travels.
Thank you for traveling with us!
Kind regards
Philip

We had a wonderfull 13-days customized guided tour with WWS for me and my wife. We selected WWS based on the excellent reviews they have. Right from the beginning, Martha was very professionnal in the quotation process. She was very reactive, proposing an itinerary and lodges which fit our wishes and making valuable suggestions. She was very kind at all times, answering to all our questions and remarks. Everything was clear, detailed and precise.
We were very satisfied with our guide Philip. We felt very secure and peacefull with him. Philip is a very nice person, feels like a friend. He has a good sense of humour, cool and relax. Philip was at all times willing to satisfy our needs and was a great guide, knowing every place of interest and all interesting spots for wildlife viewing. We also had very valuable discussions with him about Namibia culture and way of life. We enjoyed Kalahari, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Sandwich Harbour, Walvis bay lagoon cruise, Cape Cross seal colony, Damaraland, a cheetah farm. We also spent 3 days at Etosha where we were able to see a fantastic and very diversified wildlife.
I definitively recommend WWS for a Namibian adventure. Namibia is a great country to visit, so diversified.

Bonjour Jacques, comment allez-vous? Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor, Martha sends special thank you as well - I also sincerely appreciate your personal words of appraisal! It was great to travel with you and together visit (and for me to discover anew) so many fascinating places all-over Namibia. It was a very diversified experience and to read that you had a 'wonderful 13 days with us' is a reward in itself! So much attractions was indeed packed just in two weeks. Again, thank you for booking and traveling with us! You are more than welcome to contact me or Martha should you need any assistance in the future - all our returnee Guests do not need to book in advance, but have already palace reserved, just waiting for them! A bientôt, j'espère! Best regards, Philip

Where to begin? Years ago the Himba people were pictured in a travel magazine and right then their lives peaked my interest. In 2014 three of us traveled to South Africa and of course, had a wonderful time. Upon returning I started to look for a way to get to Namibia since it was right next door to South Africa.
I came across Philip and Wild Wind Safaris on a Safari Bookings website then, of course, had to see what was written on TA about his Safari Company. Upon emailing Philip and his rapid response our trip to Namibia was set in motion.
We returned just yesterday and are still unpacking, but have to share this marvelous experience with those who count on Trip Advisor like I do to find out the tour operators who are the best of the best.
We three did SO much that it would take many, many pages just to tell all so I will be a bit more brief and try to hit the highlights of the journey. First, Philip, he is witty, fun, informative, laid back, patient, knowledgeable, easy, a dear friend and so much more. He met us in Windhoek February 6, 2016 and then dropped us off February 22, 2016.
Highlights include: Sossuslei and Dead Vlei, and yes, we needed to climb Big Daddy sand dune on a day that the temperature was over 100 degrees F. We then traveled on to the next highlight of the Damara tribe's Living Museum.
Of course the visits to the Himbas was well worth it and we actually made two separate visits to two separate villages. Fascinating for sure. We also visited a school near the Epupa Falls which I loved since I am a retired teacher. So impressed with the students and the teachers.
We stayed two nights right next to the Epupa Falls and fell asleep each night to the sound of the water coursing over the falls.
Next up was Etosha National Park and the nature at its best. Philip took us for day drives and we took one night drive offered by the Park. During the night drive we saw at least 6 black rhinos and 3 male lions plus the usual assortment of the park animals.
The last of the major highlights was the visit to the Bushman tribe. It was so hot (around 100 again) but the Bushman put on quite a show for us. They were very comical and fun to watch.
The places we stayed, the food, the comradery, the green of the landscape (the rains had come and everything was vivid green), the desert in bloom, Philip and his stories, made for the perfect trip. It was SO wonderful that we three are planning another trip with Philip in 2017 to Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Dear Michel and Milton, I have read your review at least three times and cannot find words adequate to say thank you for wonderful wonderful words and appreciation. It was a pleasure having you 'on board' and sharing together a quite packed 16 days together! To hear from you that it was a 'marvelous experience', tour operator 'the best of the best' - simply warms my heart! Your mention about pages and pages of adventures and stories... - I'm sure will be many, I'm also thinking about so many pictures and memories that will continue to be shared and will linger on forever! So glad to hear that you have enjoyed your tour, including 'places we stayed, the food, the comradery, the green of the landscape (the rains had come and everything was vivid green), the desert in bloom...' and stories we shared! I'm already awaiting to welcome you BACK IN AFRICA! With warm regards, Philip

What kind of accommodations are provided. I am not interested in Tents but only Tent lodges where you do have an actual bed. And in Kenya this will be provided at the rate quoted. Also what will be the price for single-occupancy?
