Stop: 3 hours - Admission included
This half day Carnivore Feeding tour includes the opportunity to see baboons, caracals, lions, cheetahs, wild dogs and leopards. These animals are known as "ambassador animals", which means they are unable to be released back into the wild for different reasons. This half day Carnivore Feeding tour includes the opportunity to see baboons, caracals, lions, cheetahs, wild dogs and leopards. These animals are known as "ambassador animals", which means they are unable to be released back into the wild for different reasons. Some have been rescued from life as pets, some injured and no longer able to hunt for themselves, and some have been relocated as they were problem animals in the areas where they were found. N/a’an ku se works hard to try and bridge the problems that occur between the local farmers and the resident wildlife. Thus they work hard to track, monitor and move (when necessary) predators that otherwise face the danger of being hunted by farmers when they prey on livestock. This half day tour allows you to watch as the animals are being fed by the experienced guides as well as a chance to get some spectacular photos of these majestic animals. It is followed by a scenic drive that provides a good chance of spotting some of the other wildlife on the reserve. This is not just a great way to learn about these amazing animals and how they behave in the wild, but it is also a great up close photo opportunity.

This trip costs 1600Rand and actually lasts 3hours, 2 of which are travelling there and back. Entrance to the park is actually 750Rand so hire a taxi or a car as the pick up charge is wildly overpriced. Shame.

Response from Claire G, General Manager at Carnivore Feeding Tour
Responded 2 weeks ago
Thanks for joining us on this tour to N/a'ankuse and sorry that you felt that the package you booked was overpriced. The tour departs Windhoek at 13h30 and generally returns around 19h00 so whilst there are approximately 2hours of transfers, the activity itself is scheduled to last for 2.5-3hours. If this was not the case then please feel free to email us directly so that we can investigate this further for you. The cost of the package that you booked includes both the activity & return transfers from Windhoek. As N/a'ankuse is 1hour drive from Windhoek on a gravel road, then our transfer costs not only have to cover things like fuel, a driver but also a vehicle and maintenance to ensure that our vehicles are in top conditions to get you to/from the activity with no delays. Thanks again and hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Namibia.
