About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- F2586LMlaurenr0 contributionsAmazing time!We had an amazing time with Yut on our Chiang Rai tour! We debated doing this because we had limited time in Chiang Mai but we felt the temples were worth a visit and i’m so glad we did! Yut was right on time to pick us up and able to answer any question we had and give us a lot of amazing background into Thailand and the temples. You can tell he is truly passionate about it all. He also brought us to a delicious lunch spot where we had the best khao soi we’ve had all trip. I’d absolutely recommend anyone to take this trip with him! You’ll be happy you did.Written January 19, 2025
- cierram6780 contributionsChiang rai full day private tourWe had the pleasure of doing this full day private tour with our amazing tour guide called M! He picked us up from our hotel and let us enjoy our remaining breakfast prior to leaving, once in the car he explained the plan for the day and where we would go! Once at each temple he gave us a brief history of each one and let us take pictures and explore! Each temple we visited was amazing and beautiful! He also gave us a brief history of chiang mai/rai since this is the area he grew up in! He also took us to a local restaurant for lunch and we had chiang rai khao soi and it was amazing! We really recommend him he was a great tour guide!Written January 17, 2025
- U6101KBdavidv0 contributionsFour beautiful temples in Chiang RaiWe were taken by Poon, our private tour guide, to visit four of the famous temples in Chiang Rai, the province northeast of Chiang Mai, where we were staying. Poon picked us up promptly at our hotel at 7 am in a clean, comfortable and safe Toyota SUV. Poon is an excellent driver, so our two-hour drive (with a break) to the "Rainbow" temple went smoothly, and we learned about the temples we were going to visit along the way. At each of the temples we visited Poon explained the history of the temples and their religious significance. Our visits were unhurried and thorough. We could take all the photos we wanted, and Poon took photos of us, as requested. Our next stop, after a half hour drive, was at the "White" temple, followed by a delicious lunch, included in the price of the tour. The third stop was at the "Red" temple, and our last stop was at the "Blue" temple. All of the temples were very beautiful and interesting. Poon drove us back to a restaurant in Chiang Mai that we chose with his advice. We arrived just in time, shortly after 6 pm. It was a long day, but very informative and enjoyable. I strongly recommend this tour and Poon's services as a guide.Written January 17, 2025

Tong was an amazing tour guide. He took us on a day trip to chiang Rai and took good care of us on the trip and explained everything and also took many pictures. His services were 5 star rating. - GilD_130 contributionsExcellent tourEm was a great guide and driver. His English was excellent, he provided a ton of good information clearly and engagingly, and he knew how to work the crowded temples to our advantage. He drove the long distance covered safely and we were very comfortable in his vehicle. Em was very accommodating to our time constraints, and was able to adjust the tour appropriately. We did have to cut out some stops, like the Rainbow Temple and the hot springs, but we did visit the Blue Temple, the Red Temple and the White Temple - all three of these were highlights of our trip. Must see works of art. Em took us for a delicious lunch at the White Temple, at the small market adjacent. He introduced us to Khao Soi - delicious!Written January 10, 2025
- Curious156798230190 contributionsFriendly Guide / Good TourThe drive to Chiang Rai and back was very pleasant with Tong as my guide. I was initially dreading a long drive but the time passed quickly as I really enjoyed the tour and company. Tong is quite amicable and considerate. His knowledge of the temples we visited and Buddhist traditions provided the insight necessary to fully appreciate this experience.Written January 9, 2025
- rachelradish0 contributionsDisney land temple experienceThis is largely our fault for not doing more research, but what is not clear when you book the trip is that these are new temples set up to be tourist attractions. The guide and driver were BRILLIANT, I cannot credit them enough. But by the time we got to the fourth temple and I saw Deadpool and Spider-Man I called a halt to the day and asked to go home. My partner lasted ten minutes longer and also saw the teenage mutant ninja turtles! A great trip for kids maybe.Written January 8, 2025
- kirstens20250 contributionsA long but informative visit to the big templesThis was a long but nice informational trip. We learned a lot about the different temples. We went for a private one which was really nice. So nice to see the big ones up in Chiang rai in one day.Written January 8, 2025
- Daydream345948413150 contributionsGreat Day at Temples with YutWe just got back from a really great day with Yut visiting the four temples. The car had waters and snacks when we got in and was comfortable for our trip with good A/C. Yut knew the right pace to be able to enjoy the temples but also get ahead of all the large bus tours which is important with such well known tourist sites and also not get back to Chiang Mai too late. Yut’s knowledge of the Thai culture and Buddhism was really great and helpful. No complaints from us! A really nice tour and Yut was a great guide with interesting information.Written January 8, 2025
- Companion140602362120 contributions10/10! Totally worth the drive! Our guide (Poon Chai) was amazing. He was on time, courteous, and very knowledgeable. His English was great and he provided exceptional experience for us. 10/10!Written January 8, 2025

Our trip to Doi Suthep, Bau Thong Waterfalls and the Long Neck Karen village was a remarkable experience Our driver and guide, Jackie, spoke very good English and was incredibly knowledgable. Jackie brought much of the history of Doi Suthep to life and explained many of the practices at the temples. We came away with a better appreciaition of Buddhism and the people of Thailand. We could not have had a better day! Thank you Jackie!

This is a must do with Tong while in Chiang Mai. One of my favorite places we visited. The views were absolutely incredible. Our guide Tong was so accommodating and went above and beyond as we squeezed this in last minute he even took us to the airport but without making us feel rushed and we still got to do the entire trip. Cannot recommend Tong and his generosity enough. He has been doing tours for 25 years and was so familiar with the people, the monks, and even the dogs knew who he was and accompanied us on our way to the top. He was so knowledgeable on the history, and the stories of not only this temple but the whole city of Chiang Mai. He made us feel so comfortable and safe on our journey and truly made our entire trip that much more of an experience. An amazing photographer and took so many photos, taught us so much, and treated us like family. We ended up booking this tour with him because our first one to the Chiang Rai temples with Tong was such a great experience we didn’t want anyone else showing us around Chiang Mai. This man truly goes above and beyond for his guests and we could not recommend him any more, he must be protected at all costs. He’s the most kind soul we’ve ever encountered.

First off, M was an awesome guide! He made the day fun, relaxing, and full of great experiences. He was full of local knowledge. M's car was also very comfortable, and he provided plenty of cold water, and even gave us moist towelettes after our waterfall excursion!
Suthep temple was very beautiful, and the cable car up the hill was fortunately included in our tour price. The history of the place was amazing. Unfortunately there were some forest fires in neighboring countries that made the view just smoke, but I'm sure the view is amazing if you get a clear day.
For lunch, M took us to a local spot that felt like we walked into a rainforest! I highly recommend this place, although I don't know how to type the name! The mango sticky rice was especially delicious.
Speaking of sticky, the sticky waterfalls were so fun! The water felt clean and the limestone structures of the waterfall were surprisingly not slippery. Felt good to cool off on a very hot day.
Overall, very happy with this tour. I highly recommend M as a tour guide if you'd like to request him :)

Embarking on our second journey with Tong was a testament to his exceptional guiding. Having experienced his prowess on the Chiang Rai tour, choosing him again for the Doi Suthep and Bau Thong Waterfalls adventure was a no-brainer.
Tong's adaptability and friendliness shone through once more. Navigating the intricacies of the day with a seamless blend of historical anecdotes and his signature humor, he transformed breathtaking views into a narrative of cultural richness.
The refreshing climb at Bau Thong Waterfalls became an invigorating escapade, while a cultural exchange at a Karen hill tribe village provided a genuine connection to local traditions. Our lunch, authentically local, added a flavorful touch to the journey.
In summary, our second tour with Tong reaffirmed his status as an exceptional guide. His continued adaptability and unwavering friendliness ensured that each moment of the day was not just a sightseeing venture but a personalized journey into the heart of northern Thailand's natural and cultural wonders. Highly recommend for a tour that seamlessly blends expertise with warmth.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Tong who was our tour operator. Both the Suthep temple and Sticky waterfalls were an amazing experience. There was also a lunch at a local offbeat Thai restaurant and the food was amazing! It was authentic Thai food. Tong gave us plenty of time to look around and he made sure we were always safe and taken care of. Tong also shared valuable historical information about both locations and showed us a few hidden spots. Best day of our time in Chiang Mai

This tour is excellent!! May picked me and my husband up from our hotel and we began our day. It was just the three if us all day, so we really got to know him and ask him everything we wanted to know about the local culture. May is EXTREMELY friendly and personable and made the entire trip so much fun. We started at the temple. He walked us through, explaining Buddhism to us along the way. He was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. Next, we visited the Longneck tribe. It was so cool. You read and see pictures of the women with the rings around their necks, but I never thought I would be visiting their village and walking through a small market of items that they had made by hand. We then went to a delicious lunch that is at a butterfly and orchid farm. After lunch you are able to walk around and go in the butterfly area where they are freely flying. Lastly, we went to the waterfall. May walked us down and you start from the bottom and climb your way up. If you are outdoorsy you will really appreciate the beauty if the surroundings at this location. (You also don't have to be in incredible shape to climb up the waterfall. There is a rope to help and an easy route and difficult route). May patiently waited while we went up and down the waterfall, quite a few times. While on the way back to the hotel, we were asking May about any good local markets. He offered to drop us off at one rather than bringing us back to our hotel. We were very thankful. This tour was amazing and you get to experience many different parts of what Chiang Mai has to offer. If you book this, ask for MAY!! He is a great guide and made sure that we really enjoyed our day!

We had such a wonderful adventure. The temple was amazing and our guide Yut was able to explain so much about the history and meaning of many symbols. The waterfall finished the day on a high note with Yut climbing the waterfall and taking our pictures.

The tour was very long but very informative. Matthew our guide was very fun, knowledgeable and personable. We stopped at a hot springs to dip our feet in and boil some eggs if we wanted to! We then went to the white temple which was beautiful, stopped for a quick lunch nearby, blue temple which was breathtaking although I wish we had more time there! We had this delicious coconut blue ice cream that was phenomenal. The black house was fun and interesting too but I think I’d rather have spent more time at the blue temple and less at the black house. Our last real stop was at the long neck Karen village. It was interesting to hear their story and bought a few of their items to help support their tribe. Overall, it was a great experience. The van was full of 14 people so it was a little hot and the driver did cut a lot of corners on the way home which got to be a little much at times. Otherwise, those are just small things. We enjoyed the tour though and it was worth the time and money!

Opting for Tong on our Doi Suthep and Bau Thong Waterfalls adventure was a logical choice post our stellar Chiang Rai tour. His adaptability and amicable demeanor seamlessly blended historical insights with humor, enhancing the overall experience.
The majestic Doi Suthep Temple left us in awe, and Tong's guidance ensured we approached it with utmost respect and appreciation for the culture and religion. The cultural exchange at a Karen hill tribe village and their distinct way of life added another layer of richness to our journey. Bau Thong Waterfalls offered a revitalizing escape, while a genuinely local lunch infused the experience with the diverse flavors of different cultures.
In essence, Tong's unyielding friendliness and adaptability solidified his standing as an exceptional guide. Highly recommended for a personalized exploration of northern Thailand's natural and cultural wonders, always with profound respect for the places visited and the various cultures encountered.
Tong is an excellent photographer and we will cherish these memories forever. Traffic was busy and Tong efficiently navigated it in a timely manner.
