My husband and I had an awesome private tour with Brian. He picked us up in the the hotel lobby with his driver( comfortable, safe car). I had requested that he show us the main highlights of Hanoi ending with the Old Quarter and that’s exactly what he did. Brian is American but has lived in Hanoi for the last 10 years and is an extremely fun and knowledgeable and passionate about Hanoi. We explored hidden alleyways and passages and he had lots of stories to tell. We had a delicious egg coffee, went on the highest roof top bar in the old quarter and had numerous small bites at various stalls including a yummy catfish spring roll, a fish-pork cake, a banana fritter and a doughnut. Plus wine and craft beer. At the end he took us right back to the hotel. If we had more time I would have booked another of his tours as it was so good. Thank you Brian for a great day - we loved it! ( we communicated on what’s app which was very easy)

This is my third (#3) walking food tour with A Taste of Hanoi. I keep coming back to them because they are easy to communicate and work with. This is, however, the first KIDS food tour I've been on (and that they might have done). Brian was so flexible and quick to respond to my million questions and messages. We, the parents on the previous tour, had this idea about a kid focused food tour, pitched to the ATOH team and they ran with it. They kept kids safety at the forefront of our tour and designed it around easy and safe walking paths. It was a healthy helping of food tour and educational tour, feeding mind and body. We visited the Ba Dinh Square complex, Quan Than Temple and wrapped up with a wonderful family style dinner at a hidden gem of a restaurant. Overall, wonderful experience.

My husband and I used to live in Hanoi and we recently went back for a short holiday visit. We wanted to try out some “new” food and decided to contact Brian. Since we already knew major dishes, one of his best tour guides, Cuon surprised us with some hidden stops along our food tour. Although we lived there for 3.5 years before, we were absolutely satisfied with It. We even had a very special seafood dish we never heard or had before, it was a great experience for us visiting from a land lock country.

We were very impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of the tour. Brian selected a wide variety of foods for us to 'taste' although in reality there was much more than a taste. By the end of the tour we were stuffed on all sorts of delicious savory and sweet delicacies, many of which we had never encountered despite umpteen Vietnamese meals in the USA. We also enjoyed the history and tour of local highlights and walks through some out of the way alleys and so on. Well worth the price of the tour.

We had so much fun with Cong on our food tour. His choices in food were excellent and he also taught us so much about Hanoi, the culture, and showed us more than just food. I highly recommend this tour. Brian was very attentive and accommodating in organizing our dream tour!

Brian was a ball of energy and sped through everything like lightning! He knew exactly what he was doing and where he was going and was super outgoing, excited and passionate about the tour even though it was just me and him. Even though he was feeling a little under the weather, he breezed through the tour like a pro and was game to talk about anything. Be sure to watch out for his magic bag of stuff - I was surprised to see one thing after another pulled out of his bag of tricks. The only thing he didn't pull out was a rabbit, haha. If you can keep up with his bullet train speed through of stuff, you'll be just fine in his hands. His energy was great, so do give him a chance to play host while you're in Hanoi :)

We did both of these with the excellent 'A Taste of Hanoi' team, and both were highlights of our trip.

In the morning, Lan and her young friend took us around the markets and introduced us to the unique food of Hanoi. Both were super enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Hanoi and it's cuisine. Needless to say, after sampling around 17 different foods and drinks, by the end of the tour we were happily full, and much more clued up on some of the city's most famous dishes.

The next day we did the evening Scooter tour with Brian and his assistant, on two bikes. This tour combines both food and the historical events and sighs of Hanoi. Brian was an exceptionally safe scooter driver, and despite the seeming lack of any traffic rules in Hanoi, I always felt safe on secure on the back of the bike.

Brian clearly loves the city, and he beings some of the history to life as we stop on the famous Long Bien Bridge and other key sites around Hanoi. The food choices are excellent too, including Ban Mih, an excellent dinner at a small retro restaurant, and finally a beer stop to round out the evening

I'd highly recommend both of these tours, they give you the inside track to the city, and help you get away from the more touristy areas.

We took 4 fabulous tours with A Taste of Hanoi!! Each of them was special in its own right, not only for what we ate and what we saw but for the outstanding guides for each tour. We have traveled all over the world and have never had a better experience than with the professionalism of this company! I recommend them highly! EXCELLENT in every way😀
