Meet a driver at your hotel at 7:30am, then depart to the Mekong Delta, arriving in My Tho between 9am and 9:30am for a 20-minute boat trip to Unicorn Island, passing a fisherman's port and stilt houses along the way.
From there, continue to a bee farm to taste honey tea, then walk around peaceful villages to get a glimpse of life in the Mekong Delta.
Transfer to small row boats for a short, 15- to 20-minute trip along smaller canals, then hop back into the motor boat to cruise past orchards to a village that's known for its distinctive coconut candies.
Pause for lunch in My Tho before a trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels for an afternoon of exploring, arriving at roughly 2pm.
At the tunnels, you'll watch a propaganda film about local guerrilla fighters, called "American Killing Heroes," and learn how the tunnels were constructed. Spend an hour in the tunnel network, where you'll find mantraps, the remains of an American tank, and numerous bomb craters made by bombs dropped by B52 bombers. If desired, you'll have the option to try shooting guns after your time in the tunnels (own expense).
This full-day tour concludes with return transfer to Ho Chi Minh City, and drop-off at the airport or your hotel between 5pm and 6pm.
