The organization was pefekt during the 19 days of our trip and the food was delicious! Special thanks to Aagii our german speaking companion, for her patience to answer all our questions, to Baku our high mountain guide and to Tuya our cook . We can highly recommend Mongolia Trekking. It was one of our best holydays ever.Written September 8, 2024
- Caspersions0 contributionsTrue Adventure - No FencesMy husband and I can't say enough good things about our experience with Mongolia Trekking on the Bulgan Mountain Biking Tour. We are both experienced road cyclists who wanted something different, wanted to travel to Mongolia and believe cycling is the best way to experience any place. I am over 60, my husband over 70 and this was our first mountain biking experience. Gundsamba, our guide, was beyond outstanding. He was everywhere at once, helping, guiding, sharing his comprehensive knowledge about his country. The cook was also outstanding - so many dishes at each meal, all delicious. The drivers of the support vehicles were experienced and I felt 100% secure in their transport across many different kinds of terrain. We felt lucky to be with a seasoned and established company. We had the cycling adventure of a lifetime in this amazing country with no fences and a truly nomadic rural lifestyle. Never have we seen happier animals. Mongolia's history, culture, and people never ceased to surprise and enthralled us. Now, at home, listening to Mongolian Folk Music, it all comes back to me and I am filled with amazement, a sense of achievement, and gratitude. A couple of bruises and scratches too from trying to figure out mountain biking on some sand etc. I would recommend road cyclists not start with clip in pedals. I'm just saying ;-)Written July 23, 2024
- IanR22630 contributionsMagnificent Tavan Bogd 10 day trek - MongoliaAfter a long trip from Australia to Ulaanbaatar then a flight to Ulgy and a six-hour overland drive to Tavan Bogd we were hoping it was going to be worth the effort - and it was! Mongolia delivered some of the most remarkable scenery and experiences I have had in many years of travel. Zolo and the team at Mongolia Trekking did a wonderful job in delivering a stress free - on time - well scheduled week of trekking and climbing. Our guide Aibek and cook Tamara were lovely hosts, and we were very comfortable in our tents and the mess tent for the three-course breakfast and dinners. Tamara also sent us of each day with a hearty packed lunch. Mongolia and in particular the Tavan Bogd area was incredibly picturesque and at times as we walked with the Yak herders moving the flock up the mountains past glacial lakes with magnificent mountains in the background it almost all felt unreal. For those wanting the Mongolian experience this has to be one of the best.Written July 9, 2024

- ZUKITAKATA0 contributionsAltai TrekkingThe Altai trekking tour was one of the best hikes I’ve ever been on. With its jaw dropping scenery, friendly welcoming guides, combined with its delicious Kazakh cuisine, I struggle to think what could’ve been done better! I would definitely recommend anyone to do this who has love for hiking!Written July 26, 2023
- Silkkis0 contributionsSuperb trip to Gobi!We did extremely nice Gobi tour organized by Mongolia Trekking. Despite our last minute request, Mr. Batbayar was able to organize everything just perfectly! The driver was very professional and friendly, had more the feeling as being his guest than a customer☺️ And we had never survived some of the roads driving by our selves, not to mention the coordinating from from place to another😄 The absolute highlight of the tour was ger camp Motherland of Baatar and Khermen Tsav. These were quite remote and the road was bit bumpy, but so much worth the travel! Highly recommend🤩Written July 25, 2023
- AngT960 contributionsAltai Mountain TrekHad a week long trek with Mongolia Trekking at the Altai National park. Mr Bat and Mr Zolo are very effective in taking care of all the logistics from domestic flights to our daily meals. Made quite a few last minute changes to the itinerary and they were very accommodating and patient. Had a group of 3 person crew. Driver was superb, can fix practically anything. Cook makes Gordon Ramsay looks amateur. The guide is young but is good at interacting with people. Learnt quite a bit from the guide about the history, culture and daily lives of the Kazakh in western Mongolia. Trek was wonderful, no need to worry about anything. The crew took care of everything. Long story short, if u plan to visit Mongolia, give Mongolia Trekking a call. Reliable, responsive accommodating and value for moneyWritten June 26, 2023

- andrewjE9978LE0 contributionsBulgan mountain bike tour, MongoliaI thoroughly enjoyed the rare experience of the 13 day Bulgan Mountain Bike Tour. Though only a competent mountain biker, I felt safe and totally supported every day by Zolo and his hand-picked team of local experts. Wonderful people. Their knowledge of local conditions and obvious passion for explaining Mongolian culture and traditions was beautifully conveyed. Cycling through the jaw-droppingly vast green valleys framed by distant mountains, you can’t help but be struck by the immense amount of space all around. They’re not making space anymore on this rapidly shrinking planet. Come and feel it and see it with the experts at Cycle Mongolia/Mongolia Trekking. But don’t wait too long.Written June 19, 2023
- nicholasgJ3665VA0 contributionsBulgan Cycle tour July 2023 - a holiday of a lifetimeThis summer my family joined 5 other cyclists on the Bulgan cycle tour. Our guide and support team took us on routes, which made us feel at one with the country, wild horses, yaks, goats, stopping at the odd yurt to see how the families lived (and at one we were even invited inside and our tour chef was even able to cook us lunch there - it was brilliant). Mongolia trekking support was second to none, breath taking routes, cycle equipment very good, camping gear just right, drivers amazing and the catering was top notch. Definitely recommend you try – a truly great experience.Written November 27, 2022
- jonasbN7835MN0 contributionsTwo Wonderful ToursJonas Barter, Canada Thank you, Mongolia Trekking, for two wonderful tours in Mongolia. We were out on the bicycles for 13 days and followed that up with 5 days of hiking and other cultural experiences. The cycling was challenging “technical double-track” mountain biking with some steep climbs through mountain passes followed by long descents at high speed. Exhilarating! Great camping, great food, and great guides. The hiking trip offered some inspiring hikes and included archery lessons, knucklebone lessons (real bones), and the opportunity to ride a yak or camel and hear traditional Mongolian music. Over all, it was a fully immersive Mongolian adventure for three weeks. Highly recommended!Written July 18, 2022
- tinym3990 contributionsBest help I’ve gotten on my travelsI arrived to Ulaanbaatar absolutely clueless of the country and what it has to offer. After searching online I stumbled across Mongolia tracking. with great pleasure (and great English), Bat The company‘s owner devoted with a grand smile, a good chunk of his morning to helping me understand what it is Exactly I want to do. Within a cup of tea and a few phone calls I was on my way to an adventure of a lifetime! Thanks so much!Written July 16, 2022

- PaulMassie0 contributionsAwesome cycle tour by excellent companyI can't recommend Mongolia Trekking highly enough. We have just completed a cycling tour of Bulgan, Mongolia. The team, fantastically led by Bat and Samba, worked tirelessly to make sure we had the most amazing experience. Nothing was too much trouble. The tour was awesome. Challenging and rewarding cycling over various terrains with tough uphills, thrilling downhills and time to recharge on the flat. The sights, sounds and smells will stay with me forever. Expansive green plains, dotted with occasional Gers, flanked by distant mountains. Thousands of sheep, goats and cattle grazing peacefully on the grassland. The thunder of hooves from hundreds of inquisitive horses that stalked us along the way, and the cries of kites soaring overhead. Then there was the faint aroma of wild thyme wafting in the air, as well as the sometimes more earthy smells left by the livestock. Finally, the generosity and friendliness of the people as they welcomed us into their Gers. Truly an unforgettable tour. Thank you Mongolia Trekking.Written June 28, 2022
- B78NQkarenk0 contributionsbest tour companyMongolia Trekking is one of the most professional and exceptional tour operators I have ever traveled with. On a 14 day trip bicycling in Bulgan provence, I was continually impressed by the quality of the tour, the guides (Bat and Samba), the chefs -- really amazing food, and the drivers. They went above and beyond to have our tour be enjoyable, fun, and safe. Recommend them wholeheartedly.Written June 20, 2022

Fabulous experience — I highly recommend! The starting point is about 90min from the city center making it an easy day trip. The day with Zolo and Ogi was perfect— they accommodated my skill level, had safe and well outfitted equipment and packed a nice lunch. The scenery is unreal and the ride was fun and accessible for most levels. The museum is a nice addition as well.
More impressive was that the guides from Mongolian Trekking actually helped me when I was in a bind on a different day in Mongolia. It’s a long story but I was in a bind and sent a WhatsApp to them as the only locals I knew. Zolo looked out for my well being as a solo female traveler and managed me safely out of a tricky situation through his local contacts and knowledge — all on his day off! Really amazing people at this company. Wish I knew about them before I arrived and I would have booked another excursion with this group.

This was a great day trip filled with great views and excellent company from our guides Zola and Orgi. The first part of the day saw us climb the Ghengis Khan statue. Zola had excellent knowledge and shared some history with us about Genghis Khan and his empire. We then drove to our starting spot and set off on the bikes. What a stunning way to soak up the rolling mountains. We were able to ride past sheep horses and Gers dotted across the hillside, which was special. We stopped a few times for photos and a break (what comes up must come down) with grest hospitality from the guides providing food and conversation. In short, excellent service and beautiful views - it was easy on the eyes but tough on the thighs!

On a business trip in Ulaanbaatar for 2 weeks, I had a day to enjoy the countryside.
This daytrip is the perfect option if you like biking.
Only ~45 minutes from Ulaanbaatar center, includes transportation, a visit of the amazing Gengis Khan statue water and the meal.
The route is beautiful, lot of animals perfect for discovering the countryside. The journey is not very difficult, about 50 km, perfect to enjoy the view.
Very happy with this day, and a big thank you to the very friendly guides!

This stopover destination became a highlight of our trip thanks to Samba with Mongolia Trekking.
We booked easily online and the info was all accurate and helpful. Samba met us with a sign right at the train. Got us a good breakfast then he and the friendly driver took us out to the Genghis Khan Monument. Not only did they tune in to our comfort, prep, safety and skills; Samba is an amazing Ambassador for his country; full of knowledge as an educator, too!
The excursion plan has a nice balance of sharing the area, history and culture without feeling rushed or that you are missing out on the ride aspect of the adventure. What an adventure we had! We were unprepared for the spectacular beauty or the thrilling interactions with herds on the steppe. Samba went above and beyond in all things and made sure that the ride he planned fit us and our travel profile, such a keen sense for that. He fine tuned my bike seat, took pics, shared great stories, even cleaned out my shoes after a bit of a mud foot bath (no extra charge!) was the cost of my one shortcut.
What stood out was how capable Samba was at ensuring that every aspect of our visit turned out well, even helping us plan the following day with his local insights. The driver tailed us on the ride, managed lunch, water, gear then together they dropped us at the door of our (out of the way) Airbnb which we truly appreciated.
You cannot go wrong with this quality outfitter and Samba, our new friend in Mongolia!

I was recently on business trip to Ulaanbaatar and had a weekend to explore the outlying countryside around the city. Through a friend I contacted Mongolia Trekking and after a discussion with Batbayar, he suggested a couple of day trips. One to the Hustain National park followed by the Baga Khentiy Mountain Bike Day tour.
My guide for the day to the national park was Otgo, who was very knowledgeable and her English was very good. We traveled to the visitors centre where learnt about the wild life, flora and fauna, then traveled into the heart of the National park. We decided to go for a hike for around an hour, off the trail roads, where we caught glimpses of the wild Prezewalski horses, red deer, marmot, golden eagles. It was a hot day so lots of water and sturdy shoes were a must. You may need a good camera with some kind of telescopic lens to shoot great pictures of the wildlife.
The following day I headed off for a mountain bike ride with my guide Nara. As the tour notes stated we started off at the Chinggis Khan statue and headed into the valleys. Within 8km we were in remote areas surrounded only by sheep, goats, yaks cattle, the odd herdsman, and passing by a few nomadic gers. We had a picnic lunch near a small spring where young cattle were taking a drink, before setting off on a more gentle ride through the valley floor. The guides carried plenty of water for us which was lucky as on a 48km ride we needed some hydration.
The organisation was excellent I was picked up and dropped off at the hotel, the guides knowledgeable, mountain bike was good quality and the hospitality great. Would certainly use Batbayar and the company again.
