Overview
Experience the mystical whirling dervish dance ceremony in Istanbul during a live show at the Hodjapasha Dance Theater. The choreographed dance (‘sema’ ceremony) is a Sufi spiritual practice accompanied by Persian chanting and traditional music. Unique experience, No applause or cheers allowed. Kids below 6 years old are not allowed as per their website, reason being that the atmosphere inside is very very quiet and they don't want to disturb the people performing. It lasts one hour.
