Enchanting Istanbul with an awesome guide!
Nov. 2019 • Solo
Amazing tour!!
Top sites half day tour with Emir Sagir
I just got back from Istanbul with wonderful memories! They started with my first tour on the first day of my arrival.
I met Emir, the tour guide, at the pudding shop.
He was punctual and friendly on introduction.
Then went on to Hagia Sophia, I was impressed with the level of knowledge he had and the ability to share his sense of humour alongside an awesome tour!
Honestly this was my favourite tour of the city and top sites.

I would highly recommend this tour early on in your visit because you get fast track entry to the sites so you're not waiting around in the long queues.
Whether you're travelling alone or in a group, definitely book the tour with Emir! You really got a sense of him being proud of his city and how he loved sharing his knowledge with others!
He was very receptive to questions and gave additional time at places that you wanted.
I didn't feel like I was being rushed around from one place to another.

Wishing him all the best to his future!
Until the next visit!

Amazing - and very informative!
Oct. 2019
It was was a small group (total of 4 people + the tour guide), therefore the tour was very personalized. The tour guide, which was extremely knowledgeable, was able to answer all of our questions. Loved the fact that after giving us a tour and providing us all the information, they gave us time to explore on our own. Highly recommended!

Real Istanbul Tours’ Emre was amazing!
Jun. 2019 • Family
I can not recommend this tour guide enough. He was personable and extremely knowledgeable. He was flexible about whether we wanted in-depth information or less in-depth information; he also took us to get coffee at an off-the-beaten-path Turkish place. His English was impeccable and I honestly don’t have a single complaint about this tour. We are so glad we decided to do it!

Amazing experience, convenient local transportation was used which allowed us to save on time. Our tour was organised by Emre and our tour guide was Resul who was very flexible and informative. Since it was only two of us it was almost like a private tour since they agreed to change the starting time. Also Resul was kind enough to drop us back to the nearest metro instead of leaving us in the grand bazaar after the finish of the tour!

Amazing Experience in Istanbul and Capadoccia
Nov. 2018 • Couples
We booked out the old city tour and the new city tour in Istanbul. The booking experience was simple and smooth and communication for meeting points etc was very efficient.

Our guide for both tours was Emre, who was nothing short of FANTASTIC! He was very knowledgeable and shared so much interesting detail about each site...what I loved even more was that the tours were unique and took us into areas that were not so touristy and very local...He also introduced us to some AMAZING local cuisine and took us into spots where the locals would eat from, which was very refreshing...Emre was also always ready and willing to answer any questions the group had and doled out traveler tips he thought were important which definitely helped us during our stay in Istanbul.

We also mentioned to Emre that we would be travelling into Cappadocia, and he helped us book out all our tours there...and advised what we should and shouldn't do. The tours taken were brilliant!

Our trip in Istanbul was truly special and we loved every minute of it.

Would recommend 200%! Keep up the great work :)

Highly recommend for an introduction to Istanbul
Apr. 2018 • Solo
I'm wary of taking tours because they tend to be gimmicky and they try to sell you as much as they can from partners or affiliates. However, they can also be a great source of information when visiting historical sites, so as my first time in Istanbul I decided to find a guide.

Emre is a down-to-earth and charismatic guide. He's very knowledgeable and he'll answer any questions you may have not just on history, but culture, religion, and customs. Although it was a group tour, it was just me and one other person for the half-day. Emre tailored our tour to see what we wanted to see, for example spending more time at the Süleymaniye mosque instead of the Grand Bazaar. He also offered advice for visiting other sites, like Topkapi and recommendations for good street food.

While you can't escape being a tourist, I highly recommend Real Istanbul Tours for a more authentic experience in Istanbul. Thanks Emre!

Great introduction to historic Istanbul
We had the pleasure of having Emre as our guide for the half day tour covering the Sultanhamet district. As we were the only ones on the tour, it ended up being a private tour, which gave us a chance to take things at our own pace. Emre is very friendly and really knowledgeable about history, culture and politics, and we enjoyed picking his brains about all things Istanbul! I would highly recommend Emre and Real Istanbul Tours, which seems like a true labour of love.

Incredible Tour Lead by an Attentive, Knowledgeable, and Fun Tour Guide
Oct. 2017 • Couples
My girlfriend and I signed up for the small group half day tour of the old city in Istanbul. We arrives at 9 am at our meeting spot and were greeted by our tour guide, who was also one of the owners of this company. It turned out that we were the only ones that signed up for this tour and ended up getting a private tour for the same price as the group tour. Despite no one else signing up, our tour guide was as enthusiastic and attentive as if there was a full group. He was friendly and fun. He was also a history student so his knowledge of the city was second to none. We started at the column which Constantine deemed to be the center of the world. We then went to the Aya Sofia, where we skipped the line (that's part of the package) and got a thorough tour (between 1-2 hours) of this incredible structure filled with plenty of interesting historical facts. We then took a small break and had some coffee at the café right outside. Our next stop was the Blue Mosque, where we again skipped the line. The guide's detailed knowledge of history was really impressive and we learned a great deal about all of the sites we visited, including the Blue Mosque. We then went to the ancient Hippodrome of Constantinople, followed by the underground Basilica Cistern, where we once again skipped a long line. The Cistern is another incredible and historic structure. Its main attractions where two Medusa column bases, which have an interesting story. Throughout the tour, the guide was friendly, carried a fun conversation, and was always asking us if we needed a break, something to eat, etc. After the Cistern, we went to the Grand Bazaar. There, the guide bought us (with his own money) some delicious Turkish pastries from one of the food vendors within the bazaar. He then took us to an outdoor shisha (hookah) and tea garden, where we ate our pastries, drank our tea, and smoked shisha, all of which was also included in the price of the tour. The tea garden may have only been part of our tour because it was just the three of us, but it still demonstrates the level of attention and care you get with this company. The guide then taught us how to navigate the metro, helped us buy metro passes, and gave us a detailed explanation of how to get on the ferry, how to take it to the Asian side of the city, and where to go for great food and views. All in all, this tour was above and beyond what we expected and gave us a real insider's view of the city, with plenty of perks along the way. I highly recommend this tour.
