What to expect
  • This full-day Jericho-and-Bethlehem tour begins with a Jerusalem hotel pickup in an air-conditioned coach. On the main highway between Jerusalem and Jericho, in the Judean Desert, pass the Inn of the Good Samaritan, mentioned in the New Testament's parable of the Good Samaritan and the famous roadside sea level marker. From here, enjoy a view of the Jordan Valley where Jesus was baptized. In Jericho, the oldest city in the world, look for the sycamore tree that Zacchaeus, the tax collector, climbed to get a better view of Jesus when he was there on his way to Jerusalem. Above Jericho is the Mount of Temptation, where Jesus, after praying and fasting for 40 days and 40 nights, was tempted by the devil. At this halfway point of the tour, stop for lunch (own expense) in a restaurant in Jericho before making the trip to Bethlehem. In Bethlehem, explore the Church of the Nativity and the Grotto, a holy place with the cave in which the birth of Jesus of Nazareth is said to have occurred. Manger Square is where the majority of religious activity in Bethlehem takes place, with the Church of the Nativity and the Mosque of Omar, the oldest and only mosque in the old city of Bethlehem and a site of great meaning for those Muslims who live in the city. See where Jesus was placed in a manger after his birth. Tradition has it that while Mary was nursing Jesus here, a drop of milk fell to the ground, turning it white. Stop by the local Greek and Catholic churches before going to Shepherds' Field, where Luke 2:8 declares: 'Shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.' It is believed an angel announced the birth of Jesus here. The tour concludes with a return trip to the Jerusalem hotels.

I have just come back from the Bethlehem and Jericho Day Trip from Jerusalem. It was a fantastic experience.
The trip rang like clockwork, the tour guides Danny and Itamar where approachable, knowledgable and enthusiastic about their subjects.
Hassan the driver was also very friendly and drove us between sites smoothly.
Highly recommend.

Coming from a former Pentecostal Christian, now Hebrew roots/Nazarene believer, the Bethlehem leg was a bit frustrating to be honest, as it was focused on Catholic and Orthodox attractions and tradition etc.
However the Jericho leg was a breath of fresh air! Our guide Hezi, atop the archeological dig sight of the old Jericho city wall, was able to point out many biblically historical landmarks (both fact and tradition) all from the one location! With your naked eye you could clearly picture this vast and amazing landscape and really "put yourself in the story".

Picked up at 8.30 but then shuttled to another bus and didn't set off until 9.45. The places we visited were nothing special. The best part was lunch which was superb. Nothing worth seeing in Jericho

Dear 799franklins, Sorry to read that were not really impressed with your visit to this itinerary. We are certainly happy to read that you enjoyed the lunch where the group ate. We do not embark until 9.15 in Jerusalem because of the distance traveled from pickup point. No way we can overcome the complexities of the meetup as much as we try and implement a tight schedule. Sincerely, Bein Harim Tourism Services team

We booked the visit to Bethlehem and Jericho in Spanish, but on the day of the visit we found that it was in English and we had no news about it.
They tricked us. The guides were also facing each other. The bus was lost several times. I do not recommend this company at all. In addition to the expensive excursion, it was cheaper and best elsewhere.

This day was great, really enjoyed the descriptions of the church of the nativity. Just be aware that you dont actually go down into the grotto where Jesus was born and I think this maybe on a separate tour.
The explanations about Bethlehem and Jericho were great, our guide was Ami who was full of life, he is obviously very passionate about his job and LOVES it!! Thank you Ami you were great :-)

THanks for this rave review posting of 5 stars for Ami your guide and the tour . He deserves such feedback for the great job he does with his travelers. Access to the Nativity cave is not always allowed beacuse of visitor overload, totally under the managment of the PA. We are happy to read this was an enlightening and informative tour experience for you. Your sincere recommendation and appreciation of his professionalism is very much valued.

Thanks for this rave review of 5 star for a Bein Harim tour that you enjoyed and came away with such a memorable experience to cherish. Real pity no mention of the guide's name for him to get the credit for his efforts and of your gratification . Look forward to seeing you again some time.

My Mother and I chose the Day Trip from Jerusalem to Bethlehem and Jericho. What an amazing time. Not only were the sites great to visit from a religious and architectural perspective but our Tour Guide Hazi and his Driver were truly great. Honestly, I don't write reviews but after this tour I needed to point out that these guys were real professionals. Very knowledgable, energetic, and really connected all the dots biblically and historically.

Thank you again Hazi, I hope to have you as our guide in future tours! All the best!

We only wanted to spend a half day visiting Bethlehem from Jerusalem. What I didn't realize is that with this tour you spend more time just getting there than one would realize. They were slow in picking us up from our designated hotel and then they took us to one central spot there all the people they had gathered got on the correct bus to whatever area they were visiting for the day. The guide was good and the rest of it moved out in a timely way and it was a convenient way to make the visit.

Dear Marilyn Thaks for sharing in detail the pickup process of this Jerusalem based tour INdeed there is a procedure to get to the tour embarkation. Jerusalem ,especaily it takes almost up to an hour, admittedly. We have yet to find a quicker way round ,traffic, distant hotels, and travelers spread across the city, all in one place in order to get to get going,.as well as the drive back across the city for the entry into Bethlehem itself. We are glad though to read you enjoyed the tour with the local guide. Hope to see you travel again with us some time.

Booked Bein Harim through Benny of Crowne Plaza. Excellent tour guide with good memory of his group. Very informative tour, on time & worth your time & money. We got lost from the group & he knew exactly where to find us. Got another tour to Nazareth, Tiberias & Sea of Galilee, excellent tour, very informative. Don't forget your hats & sunblock as it can get really hot while on tour.

Dear Chrsitina Thanks so much for the rave reviews of both tours you took with Bein Harim Tourism. Pity you didnot name the guide's so they get recognition for the great job they did. Weare really pleased you came away feeling you had a worthwhile time , getting informative commentary of the locations you visited.\ Indeed it is still lwarm season wise here and sun protection is certainly required. Thaks very much for this sincere recommendation. Hope you will come back soon to travel with us again.
