What to Expect
Meet a driver in central Jerusalem on Day 1 and then cross the Jordan River Valley as you travel into Northern Jordan, passing a 12th-century Crusader castle along the way. The first stop is the ancient Roman city of Jerash, where you’ll find well-preserved streets, colonnades, mosaics, and theaters dating back thousands of years. Next, head to Amman's bustling downtown to see Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic ruins set high above the city center. The day concludes at a Bedouin camp in Petra—with a Bedouin dinner served by a blazing fire. On Day 2, wake for a guided tour of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient Nabatean city. You'll enter through the winding Siq, a narrow slot canyon. Following a packed lunch in Petra, begin the return trip to Israel, where this tour concludes at the original departure point.
