The hike through Chicaque park was simply stunning. You start higher up in altitude and walk down. You notice how the temperature changes and the flora as well. About halfway through the hike you stop at a nice lodge to have a small breakfast and continue to the waterfall. The waterfall is amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it before and worth the tough hike back up the hill. This trip is great to get a glimpse of the complexity of Colombia’s ecosystem. Carlo is a great guide and tells you not only about the park, but can also help you understand Colombian culture, politics, and history during the drive. Also, the hike is not easy by any means. It can be slippery and steep at times so I recommend not taking this trip if you have any joint issues or are not in good physical shape.

I had the opportunity to visit Bogotá on a work trip and added one day for adventure. This was the ideal choice with a nice early start time to beat the traffic and the crowds. Carlo is a fantastic guide he was very communicative and made it easy for me with hotel pick up and drop off. On the trail, he was concerned for our safety, pointing out slippery rocks and roots and when the trail narrowed.

It was a very misty day with low visibility, but that didn’t matter so much since there were so many new trees and plants to enjoy. Carlo is very knowledgeable about Colombian history and kindly answered my many questions. I learned a lot about the land and the people. We were able to keep a pretty good pace so with lunch and travel time, the experience lasted from 6:30-3p with about 3.5 hours hiking. Ideal as I needed some rest after the flight in.

All in all a great trip and a great way to spend the time even if you have just one extra day in the city. I look forward to my return and reconnecting with Carlo for more trekking aventures!

The trek was really magical and not very far from Bogota, which is very practical. Carlo is an amazing guide, very cool and knowledgeable, who does everything to ensure your safety. There are a lot of different trail and activity options in the park and Carlo adapts to your needs. I would 100% recommend this hike!! Thanks for everything

If you're looking for something outdoorsy in Bogotá, this is the tour for you.

This tour had it all: a wonderful guide (Carlo), stunning views, a great workout, and one of the most unique hikes I've ever done. We started at the peak (which has an awesome view over the cloud forest and the Andean peaks) and trekked downhill into the valley. From there, Carlo led us on a waterfall hike and then back to the valley for a lunch of traditional Colombian food.

After some rest at the valley's lodge, it was back up the side of the mountain through the cloud forest to the top. The afternoon generally burns the clouds off for a great view at the end of the hike- although while we were there, the morning had the best view of the mountain range & clouds.

Bonus points: some dogs are at the valley lodge and joined us for part of the hike back up the mountain.

Although this is a steep hike and the elevation can make breathing more difficult, Carlo was great and made sure all of us made it up and down the mountain at a good pace.

As a traveler who loves to challenge myself and experience nature in different locations, this has been one of my favorite hikes. 10/10 would hike up and down the side of this mountain again.

My colleague and I went to Chicaque Natural Park with Carlos and had a great time. Carlos picked us up at the hotel and we arrived at the park 1,5 hours later. It was a Saturday morning and we were almost alone in the park.

The trek starts downhill with great views and many photo opportunities. We opted for the zipline (do it!) which was equally fun and terrifying. After lunch at the refuge, we walked back up again. It was a bit steep but absolutely doable.

Carlos is a great guide - he looks out for the group and makes sure everyone is comfortable. He knows a lot about the flora and wildlife in the park, but also a lot about Colombia in general. He is also fun and easy to talk to! I can warmly recommend this trip.

Thanks again for a great day Carlos!

Tour was excellent. It was well planned with a good timing, start in the morning enabled catching best weather and great views. Optional lunch in the lodge was a nice break full of pleasant conversations and good food. 2 guides were flexible and quckly adjusted the pace to different fitness level.
