Very loud very average bland food
The show was good but very loud. Food not good. But being on the Nile was fun. I don't think it's worth the money. But we wanted to see belly dancing so for that I gave the 3star otherwise I would have given 2

    Organised chaos
It was a good evening, but the organisation was chaotic at best. We couldn’t enjoy the show properly because we were constantly being hassled for money, which was a bit strange because it’s not like we could go anywhere - we were on a boat after all. The food was good though.

I enjoyed my cruise with Nile Crystal cruise: pay attention to the location, the right address is Nile Crystal نايل كريستال - Kornish Al Nil Street out of Il Cairo. Text to them on WhatsApp!

    Great day explring history
Great experience. We enjoyed every bit of our visit and it felt that we had just seen an Egyptian cultural movies going back to 5000 years. Thanks to a good Egyptologist, we understood what we saw,

    Great show
its a must see thing of Cairo tour. Only thing I felt that they should be little more careful about the dinner it self. seems that they try to make profit by serving cheaper food.

    Amazing and memorable
I booked the Maxim Nile River dinner cruise through my hotel concierge and took an Uber over to it which was about 5 mins away from my hotel and the Uber ride was literally $1. Uber is the way to go in Cairo because traffic is ridiculous so don’t try to drive anywhere. The cruise was worth it because it was so beautiful to see all the sites while sailing along the Nile River. The food was decent. I had the buffet with salad and sea bass for my entree. The food was just ok as to be expected for a quick dinner cruise. It wasn’t a rushed cruised. For entertainment we had the belly dancer and another show onboard. It literally was a nice fun cruise and worth the money. I would definitely try it if in Cairo. The Maxim was nice.

Fun night out with good food
The food was great, and so was the entertainment. The singers were talented and sang a nice mix of English and Arabic music. The belly dancer put on a great show and it was nice to see what Cairo looked like lit up at night.

    Poor communication
This tour company operates under diffrent names, they were over an hour late with my first tour and they scheduled this tour at 8am when none of the shops are open. Fortunately (?) because of they scheduled the wrong time on the first tour me and the guide realized they did the same thing with this tour. I had the same guide for both days so I just asked him to change it to 11am when the shop are actually open. I had no issue with the guide and driver, the company does not operate well and no apology will be forthcoming. The guide helped me find the silver necklaces I wanted, I appreciated that.

    Good food and entertainment
The Nile cruise and dinner is a very good experience. The food is great if a tad too salty. The different hummus and breads were amazing! The entertainment is good. The belly dancer was very good but what we enjoyed the most was the dervish dancer. He was incredibly amazing!

Nor worth the time and money
I regret to write this but honesty goes a long way. We signed up with the understanding to see an actual Arabic belly dancer only to be disappointed that she came from a foreign country. The boat was crowded and the food well below average. I would not recommend this to anyone.

    Very disappointing over rated
The cruise was booked easily through an agent before arriving in Cairo. This was something that I wanted to experience as it is highly recommended in guides. The pick up was prompt and we were driven about 45-60 drive away out of Cairo to board the cruise. The cruise ship was ‘Andrea’. This was really no cruise but a floating double deck flotilla. The evening commenced with the quartet of males singing and playing their instruments. After about 15 minutes , the belly dancer appeared. The dancer danced to the tunes from the quartet. I found the whole routine rather boring and sleazy. This is my own opinion on this. There were a couple of females who were invited to join the dancer and that was better entertainment as they were all trying to perform the moves as the dancer. Then the dancer walks around the room , with the photographer in tow taking photos on each table. This is a ploy to make you purchase a photo with the dancer at a premium price of about $6. The tanoura was the male entertainer who spun around in his costume as well as perform some juggling tricks whilst spinning . This entertainment was far more better and he has the entire crowds attention. His routine lasted about 20 minutes but was great to see him. Once again the photo round was around each table to sell back photos that can be taken quite well, with current smartphones of a better quality. The buffet food was finally available and that was over stated. The food was rationed out , whilst some of it was lukewarm at best. If you are the 3rd person or more in the queue then you will have to have what’s left after spoons have been used to serve from different containers of food. The hot food is all served by the catering staff. I have never been a champion of buffet food and this was only going to ensure my opinion will remain the same. Dinner should be served at the table. One should not have to queue in a line to be served rations. After the meal , you are allowed to the top deck to take in the night views of the Nile as we sailed back. Overall , I cannot fault the driver and host from the company as they picked and dropped back to the hotel as agreed. The dancer was something I wanted to experience, but I would not use again. The tanoura was very entertaining indeed. The food was as above. I certainly would not describe it as dinner. I do think that the Nile cruise is overrated as it is a part ploy to make you part with extra cash at each stage with souvenirs , photos which they try to hard sell to you. I would not recommend this again , but it was something I wanted to experience .

Highlight of this evening was the Belly Dance and performance by another male Dancer in traditional Dress. Rest of the part was an average experience. To start with the Boat sails not more than 200 meters and returns to the start point. Most of time its stand still. Dinner is served in a cramped place for large number of guests and its literally people falling over each other. We had a large group of Asian Tourists who started filling their Plates even before the Dinner was completely laid out and the Boat had not even started sailing. As a result by the time we reached the Buffet, there was hardly anything left in the Serving Bowls. Staff did not understand our language and didn't bother to refill the Bowls. Honestly speaking we could have had a better and peaceful dinner somewhere on the River side. If you are going for a 3/4/5 days Nile Cruise, I would strongly recommend that avoid this Dinner Cruise. Its waste pf Time and Money.

If you are claustrophobic, then stay away from this cruise! There is very little space in between tables as they are trying to maximize capacity in a single hall. Having said that, I would recommend that you sit in the middle where the band is setup. The dinner setup is messed up and it creates a huge bottleneck and huge lines, so would recommend waiting out the crowd, i.e. be patient for 30mins. Also, note there is no drinks included - that means no water included! There is no alcohol which may be a plus for some, and it is cash only!! The dinner itself was terrible and I would never eat there again!

The only thing that went right with this experience was our guide Ahmed and Waleed our driver. They were epitome of professionalism and customer service! The Sufi dervish show was great, whereas belly dancing was okay, and the second sufi dancer was sad! I do however have to give her credit for maintaining her composure when people started getting up and leaving when we got back to the docks!

In summary, I would say performance was average, guides were amazing, and the food was terrible!!

Supposed to of been a four hour cruise ended up being two hours. Had a singer on, belly dancer and a whirling man on for entertainment. The whirling man was superb and talented and he should of been on in place of the belly dancer as you can see them anywhere.
We got picked up by Emo Tours and he stayed around on the cruise with us. Felt like we had a body guard watching our every move so it was very of putting.

Our host who picked us up was excellent so the review is nothing to do with him, he got us there and returned us safely.

The already expensive ticket does not include any drinks (no alcohol or soft drinks) - a jack daniels is nearly £20, water is also pricey. On top of this they will add an extra 30-40% onto your bill as service charge, entertainment charge and some sort of VAT...they also try to demand cash as the waiters take money visibly from the bill for themselves.

The performers all tried which was the only good part.

Good food, good show. Only downfall would be allows smoking inside. If you are not a smoker or sensitive to cigarette smoke then I would not go. In there defense, their culture allows smoking everywhere. So it is not there fault. If it does not bother you I would highly recommend this cruise. If it does maybe one day they will have sections.

Our trip was rescheduled from the day it was originally booked but that didn’t really bother us as we stayed in Cairo for a few days. Our guide Mohamed Salah (not the footballer) was very friendly and very well spoken ( very good). Good entertainment, ok food

The drivers of the car to the cruise were friendly and very informative about the area which was great for the first night trying to figure out safe areas. The cruise itself also had a wide variety of foods for variety of dietary needs and all the food was delicious. Finally, the performers were amazing and created an electric experience.

6.30pm pick up – A man came into the Hotel Lobby to meet us and explained that our boat had been cancelled and the only option was to upgrade to the Nile Crystal boat at a cost of $20 each (we checked later and the Nile Crystal cost was exactly the same as the price we originally paid through Viator). We refused the increased price and told him to cancel the evening and he said ok, we can upgrade free of charge and we left the hotel in a taxi. The guy was just scamming us but this is a problem with Viator because we didn’t know the name of the boat, just that it was a River Nile Dinner Cruise with Belly Dancer.
We were told the early pick up for a 8pm sailing was because the traffic can be bad, but the traffic was bad and we made the journey in 20 minutes arriving to the boat at 6.50pm (10 minutes before the boat opened and we had to wait outside until 7pm when we were allowed to sit down. Their aim is to get you on the boat as soon s possible to sell you the hugely overpriced drinks (see later). When we sat down, the tablecloth was dirty and then we noticed that all the tablecloths were dirty.
You must note that ALL drinks are chargeable and expensive. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter (who was ok actually) told us that it was $40 per bottle or 550 Egyptian. In the end because it went on for so long, we had one tea ($2) two bottles of wine ($80 or 1100 Egyptian) and a bottle of water ($4). Read down for what we actually paid!
We didn’t have high expectations for the meal, so we weren’t disappointed, but the whole thing was served at 8pm before the boat had left the dock ( it was supposed to be buffet , but at the end all customers were served with bread, some dips, main course ( chicken+ meat) , and desert.
The boat left at 9.10pm and it really was laughable. I put my running app on just to check the distance and in 30 minutes, we went 200m. They made the boat go around in circles to give the impression that it was moving, but seriously, it went nowhere, we didn’t see anything of Cairo whatsoever before returning to the dock at 10pm. That was nearly 3 hours waiting to depart and then 50 minutes on the water staying mostly in the same place.
There was a singer who tried his best, two other men doing an Egyptian dance with a Belly Dancer (a woman in fully covered evening dress) which was not good, and they were trying hard to sell photographs etc.
When the boat docked, I was presented with a bill for $86 or 1250 Egyptian. Knowing that this was going to be a TripAdvisor review, I asked the waiter for a receipt and he didn’t like that very much. He went of to find a receipt and I counted out 1250 Egyptian, so it was ready for him when he came back. When he returned, he wrote down 660 Egyptian and told me that’s what I would pay with no receipt. I took my 1250 Egyptian back and paid 700... strange, but if you somehow find yourself on this awful trip, make sure you ask for a receipt.
One positive note of the evening, the Hummus was good!

We were scheduled on Sunday, March 8, 2010, at 7:00 pm for a Nile Dinner Cruise in Cairo with Belly Dancing and Hotel Transfer. We were told that someone would contact us 2 hours before pickup. That didn't happen! After waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes, I called and was told that the driver was on his way. By 8: 30 pm, I called again and was told that the driver would not be there and that we could schedule the 10 pm show. We agreed and the driver arrived at 9:15 p.m. While we were on our way to what we thought was the Dinner Cruise the driver informed us that the cruise had been cancelled and that he was told to take us to a restaurant near the cruise ship. I informed him that we were not aware of this. He seemed to be as perplexed as we were. He called an agent and was told that we could schedule for the next day which was impossible because our flight was leaving the following morning. He said he was informed that the restaurant was very nice and that we could decide when we got there if we wanted to leave. Well, the restaurant was absolutely horrible. We were the only two there other than the staff. There was no entertainment, the place was a drab and the bathroom was filthy. I insisted that driver take us back to the hotel. I am upset and disappointed that Tripadvisor would try to pull this kind nonsense when they knew in advance that they did not have a 10:00 pm cruise that night. My husband who was looking forward to the Nile Dinner Cruise was extremely disappointed as this would have been his first in Cairo. Unfortunately, after this experience we left Cairo with a bad taste in our mouths.
