Khaled The Great our amazing guide for 10 days
We visited Egypt from New York and it was nothing short of a spectacular trip thanks to Khaled the Great. Planning this trip was a bit stressful as Egypt is not a backpacking type country but thanks to rave reviews, we were able to book a private tour with Khaled Tour Guide for Cairo and Luxor. I cannot stress enough how fantastic this guide was from creating our itinerary to fit exactly what you want, coordinating travel and his overall flexibility. From the moment you land in Egypt, Khaled takes care of everything from picking you up, finding you hotels, short flights to different cities and providing you with well-educated Egyptologist Tour Guides who not only take you to the Pyramids and Temples, but provide expert knowledge and history for every destination you visit to bring alive the true cultural and rich history of Egypt. Truly a dream come true visit. Thank you to Khaled and our driver Mohammed for coordinating and facilitating everything for us in Cairo! Big thank you to our Egyptologist Tour Guide Khaled for giving us an amazing educational tour of the Pyramids/Sphinx and the Egypt Museum and for coordinating everything for us in Luxor which brought the history of the beautiful temples of Luxor to life! Lastly I want to stress that Khaled and his team are HONEST AND SINCERE people who went above and beyond to make our trip to Egypt amazing. The reviews here do not lie, when you visit Egypt, make sure you book with Khaled the Great. Do not be scared to visit Egypt because of some things you read on the internet, if you book with Khaled you will be more than pleasantly surprised :) Last reminder for my fellow Americans - Tipping is BIG here, try to bring smaller bills as its difficult to find a currency exchange, although USD is preferred in general (do not be pressured) but of course, tip Khaled`s team well :)

Disaster vacation with money exchange scam and daily scandals to get what we paid for
I travelled a lot... I travelled to countries much poorer than Egypt, but never ever had such a disaster! We, 3 adult ladies with 4 kids bought a 9 day tour in Egypt from Khaled Abbas’s from Egypt_tours. We paid over 1000$ per person including same 1000$ payment per kid for 4 days of actual all day touring in Cairo and Luxor. Other 5 days in Hurgada tours were not included, only hotel. When we bought the tour everything was discussed. We discussed that we are 3 separate families and we need 3 separate rooms. In the contract it was specified that lunches and breakfasts were included plus some dinners. When we arrived, right away Khaled start telling us how he made specially for us special upgrade on everything. Special upgrade on tours, special upgrade on restaurants, on pick up cars and basically everything like we did not pay for it…. It’s specially for us because we are so special. He start telling us that it about friendship, he does not care about money and so on… The first night started ok but problems already started!!! He picked us up and checked in a good hotel indeed with view on pyramids. Our flights were late, so we put kids to sleep and went to sleep ourselves at 3 in the morning. But!!! There was still a construction going on the roof 3 in the morning with a dozen of bare feet works dumping gigantic bags of cement on the roof making entire 3-store hotel shake. Meanwhile, Khaled told us to make sure we keep our kids quiet because people are sleeping!!! My friend went downstairs to complain. She complained, they promised her right away they will stop construction. In the next 20 mins nothing changed, she went again…. 15 mins later she realized nothing will stop and she had to go upstairs to yell at those workers herself to make them stop! Next day, he told us we need to exchange money and pay in Egyptian, not dollars. We asked him to take us to bank, he said no. He will do it himself. He mentioned us that bank will screw is, because unofficial rate is 55 on black market, bank one is 31. He fixed us to exchange all money we will need to pay for diving - it was over 1600$ for Egyptian at the rate of 31. He exchanged on black market for 55, gave us 31. Then later in Hurgada another guide told us if we pay in Egyptian the rate will be 55 Egyptian per dollar!!! Meaning on 1600$ we would lose 77% of value!!!! And guess what - in Egypt you don't even need Egyptian money!!!!! You can pay everywhere in dollars! But more about this later... Day 2 he also start telling us stories about him fostering 13 kids… it was so creepy, so weird. 13 kids from 13 different moms and it is not sexual… some kind of nonsense. He says: people think it is sexual, it is not sexual... why do we need to know that? Also he complained to us about other clients he had who left their kids and went to have sex somewhere or whatever... And a bunch of other stories about terrible clients he had before... Then he also gave us another tour guide to do a tour in Cairo. She was a disaster. He told us something about her sad life story and whatever like we are supposed to feel bad. A disaster. Because of her the experience in the museum was insanely boring and then we missed Christian churches! we had 15 mins to look at 3 churches! ALso Khaled allegedly told her we are not hungry! So stingy with lunches and breakfasts - it was impossible to handle psychologically to constantly remind and beg for food that we actually fully paid for! I won't even go to the nonsense excuse he told us about British vs American English meaning of dinner... lunch... supper... whatever. Time management was so poor, we would not be able to have time to do lunch anyways because we stood by the Egyptian museum entrance for 2 hours not moving at all listening to entire Egyptian mythology no one understood anyways. After we complained about him not providing us promised and included in price lunches he started lying to us blaming the tour guide he hired. The tour guide got mad at him and made him apologize to us. It took hours of bad vibes just from figuring out who are to blame for us not getting fed. Then he almost made us pay for the 3rd day tour in Cairo!!!! That actually was supposed to be included! Additional 65-95$ per person. He told us it was not included! He did a trick of moving days around... moving last day in Cairo to now because flight got moved from morning to night. After a long fight he said money does not matter to him and as a hero he led a tour for us for free as he presented it. To be honest to Khaled's work - he is a terrible organizer and a liar, but a great talented tour guide. His tours were actually pretty good, timely, well organized and clear. I have to give him credit on it. Also, Khaled told us some nonsense about firing the driver with who we had no problem.... He was telling us that driver was not professional for a long time - we did not want to know... we did not care... why do we need this information? Also, Khaled complained to another driver that we fought with him and the driver made angry comments at us in English!!!!!! So that we know that Khaled turned around and complained about us to absolutely everybody... maybe told some nonsense. And we just asked for what we paid for. It was super unpleasant. Then when we arrived in Luxor he checked us in an illegal apartment in two small rooms with dusty beds with no sheets!!!!!!! We had to use a dusty never washed smelly blanket not to freeze at night with no sheets. As a matter of fact he also told us he had "a lot of fun" with ladies in those beds.... On top of it, we are 3 different families. I would understand if he would put us in the same AIRBNB but with separate rooms for each or something, but with stupid design of the apartment we had to break into 5 people in one and 2 people in a 1 bdr apartment. And all of it considering 1 shower for 5 people with open shower with barely any water pressure and no hot water at all! And no doors! All bathroom was so wet one of the kids being taking shower after 3 other people being tired fell down and hurt his elbow! Plus the next day we wanted to go on a tour 4 in the morning and the hotel was closed!!! We could not figure out how to leave hotel for 20 mins. Our guide for the tour was waiting for us forever. Then we found the key to open the hotel to get out. We had to fight again complaining about this terrible experience. So to make up for the terrible experience Khaled returned us money for the hotel in Egyptian pounds (remember that he took payment in dollars, exchanged in black market at 55 pounds per dollar and returned us back in Egyptian pounds payment for the hotel at 31 pound per dollar). Also to make up for the trouble he promised us to pay for lunches and breakfasts for our 4 day stay in Hurgada..... and here it was another lie.... In Hurgada everything was ok until the guide sold us the tour for 20$ per person called “city tour” that includes a show with light dinner and some city tour… ok. We were excited for the show. Then a car picked us up and dropped us off by Marina where we walked around ourselves, then the car picked us up and took us to a mall….. I am asking- when is the show? What is this? The guy who was with us start lying that we already missed the show and so on… then another guy said it was cancelled, then it turned out the show does not exist!!!! Does not exist! It is closed forever and the guide allegedly found out only 30 mins before… and he yelled at us for not understanding that he will not give refund. As soon as the payment for diving conversation came up - surprise surprise, we need to pay only in dollars or in Egyptian pound at a rate of 55 pound per dollar losing 77% of value!!!!!!! and we exchanged 1600$ with Khaled!!!!!!! Khaled strongly recommended us to exchange money with him to pay for diving. This is where I lost it completely! Only after another round of yelling and arguing, Khaled agreed to exchange money back to us to dollars, so we don't lose value. For all of you to get a perspective instead of paying let's day 1000$ for diving, we would have paid 1774$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello Hello scaming tourists.... Moving on.... Then many lunches were included with the dives we paid for separately. We had to basically beg the tour guide to feed us or refund us money for the lunches/ breakfasts that Khaled promised... At one point for the last day of tour he was 30 mins late saying that he got something for the kids.... and it was just our lunches that we were owed by Khaled! It is not a surprise! Not a present! Not anything special... Also, by the end of the days we got tired of those cheap ass breakfasts and lunches and ate where we wanted. We asked for refund for whatever included lunches/ breakfasts were worth but obviously never got anything back... Overall, on top of terrible lies we experienced from Khaled and fighting for what we paid for, it become extremely annoying to deal with moody angry Egyptians every day. One time they call you queen and assure you of a special upgrade every day, another time they complain about you in Arabic right in front of you, yell at you, make you beg for water and lunch that is included… absolutely everyone all around ask for tips… all the time. Quality of everything they do is subpar. You buy video from Balloon trip- it is bad… you buy diving videos- it is bad. You buy camel tour with pictures- pictures are bad, they cut off your head or camel from the picture or put a stone on top to do some visual whatever magic- looks bad. Catcalling and aggressive selling practices increasingly became more and more annoying every hour. At some point you feel like snapping at every Egyptian saying hello to you. I would definitely not recommend anyone to take Khaled tours to travel with children to Egypt. Do not ever travel to Egypt as solo woman or a group of women either due to constant misogyny and disrespect. You will be lied to, mistreated, you will have to yell and argue, you will be cheated on constantly and at the same time he will make you feel like you are a bad person for breaking a friendship......

Stay away from this scammer. Story of ruined vacation🤮
We, three adult ladies with four kids, made the grave mistake of purchasing a 9-day tour in Egypt from the utterly incompetent Khaled Abbas of Egypt_tours. We foolishly handed over more than $1000 per person, including an outrageous $1000 payment per child, expecting a memorable experience. Little did we know that our hard-earned money would be squandered on a tour filled with deceit, incompetence, and utter disrespect. From the moment we arrived, Khaled began his charade, boasting about how he had specially upgraded everything for us. Upgraded tours, upgraded restaurants, upgraded transportation - as if we were a bunch of fools who hadn't paid for these services in the first place! He had the audacity to claim that it was all because we were "special" and that he didn't care about money. What a load of rubbish! The very first night, our hopes of a pleasant stay were shattered. Despite our late flights and exhausted children, we were subjected to the incessant noise of construction work on the hotel roof at 3 in the morning. Bags of cement were being dumped with such force that the entire three-storey hotel shook. And what did Khaled have to say about it? He had the nerve to tell us to keep our kids quiet because people were trying to sleep! One of us had to take matters into her own hands, confronting the workers herself to make them stop. Unbelievable! But the surprises didn't end there. Khaled insisted that we exchange our money into Egyptian currency and pay in cash instead of dollars. When we asked to be taken to a bank, he arrogantly refused, claiming that he would handle the exchange himself. And what a rip-off it turned out to be! He exchanged our money at an abysmal rate of 31 Egyptian pounds per dollar, even though the black market rate was 55. We later found out that if we had paid in Egyptian pounds, we would have lost a staggering 43% of our money's value. What a scam! And let's not forget the so-called tour guides. One of them, assigned to us for a day in Cairo, was an absolute disaster. Incompetent and clueless, she ruined our visit to the museum and caused us to miss out on other important sights and even lunch. All the while, Khaled fed us some sob story about her sad life, as if it was supposed to make up for her complete lack of professionalism. As if that wasn't enough, Khaled had the audacity to try and charge us extra for a tour in Cairo that was supposed to be included in the package. An additional $65 to $95 per person, just to rub salt in the wound. It was a blatant attempt to squeeze more money out of us, and we were not having it. When we reached Luxor, the accommodations were a nightmare. We were checked into an illegal apartment with two cramped rooms, dusty beds, and no sheets. And to top it off, the shower didn't even work! We were left to endure cold showers or no showers at all. The next morning, when we needed to leave for an early tour, we found ourselves locked inside the closed hotel, wasting precious time while our tour guide waited for us. It was a complete and utter mess. Even in Hurghada, where things seemed to be going relatively smoothly, we were hit with another scam. The guide sold us a tour called the "city tour" for $20 per person, promising a show with a light dinner and a city tour. But what did we get? A walk around a marina and a visit to a mall. The show? Non-existent! And when we confronted the guide, he had the nerve to yell at us and refuse to give us a refund. Outrageous! But perhaps the most infuriating part of it all was the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior we encountered throughout the tour. The dive masters, supposedly experts in their field, showed a complete disregard for the fragile coral reefs, dragging their students across them and encouraging them to touch and disturb the marine life for the sake of a photo. They lost their temper, demeaned their students, and even had the audacity to make inappropriate comments towards me. And as if that wasn't enough, the guides had the gall to lecture us on how to raise our kids, as if they knew better than us. To sum it up, dealing with the moody, angry Egyptians on a daily basis became unbearable. One moment they would treat us like royalty, promising special upgrades and showering us with compliments, and the next they would complain about us in Arabic, yell at us, and make us feel like beggars for basic necessities. Everywhere we turned, someone was asking for tips, and the quality of the services provided was abysmal. From videos to photos, everything we purchased turned out to be utter garbage. And let's not forget the incessant catcalling and aggressive selling tactics that made us want to snap at every Egyptian who dared to say hello. In conclusion, I strongly advise against traveling to Egypt with children, or as a solo woman or group of women. The rampant misogyny and disrespect we encountered throughout the tour were appalling. And as for Khaled Abbas and his so-called tour services, save yourself the trouble and steer clear. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

          My best Tour ever
My dad and I have been dreaming of going to Egypt, all our lives. We finally got the chance finally! We were a little hesitant at first, unsure as to how we would be welcomed and also what to expect. The moment we met Khaled, all nervousness went away. He made us feel very safe, and cared for as though he was showing friends around instead of just clients. In our first day, he showed us more than we expected to see for the entire trip! And things just got better and better each day! He is so knowledgeable and shares amazing information about Egypt’s culture, ruins, etc in such a way that you cannot help but leave a bit different than when you arrived! He showed us local places to eat, things that we didn’t even know were in Egypt, and even taught us how to read some hieroglyphics and speak some Arabic. I cannot express how my time there was completed with him, it was like visiting a brother, and having him share those moments with us, was part of our favorite part! I highly recommend Khaled to anyone looking to go to Egypt, He will take care of you and show you the best time of your life! Thank you Khaled the great

          It's all about the $$$
My family and I went on a 12-day tour to Egypt and chose Khaled Abbass as our tour guide to ensure that we would be safe and comfortable and avoid being a victim of scammers. I am writing this review to evaluate my experience honestly and help others. I understand that being a tour guide is a job, and he needs to earn some income, but not to the point that He has to sacrifice his guest's comfort to put more $ in his pocket. Our package trip includes two meals, breakfast and lunch, excluding drinks. During our first four days in Cairo, we ate complimentary breakfast at the hotel as our tour usually starts at 10 a.m., so he only paid for our lunch during the first four days. I feel like we starved while in Egypt. He never asked what we wanted to eat. He would order the food, and it was what it was. Food is cheap in Egypt, but we are always hungry. We ate lunch around 5 p.m., and it would be the last meal for the day; we just then went back to the hotel, so it was either go to sleep or risk going out to buy food on our own. We asked him to take us to the store or somewhere to buy some souvenir items, and because we fully trusted him, we let him do the bargain to save us some money and get a good deal. While in that bazaar marketplace, he said he would get it for 3,600 Egyptian pounds (3 pocketbooks and two male wallets). He whispered to me and said don't talk to them anymore (the seller), so it won't be confusing. I kept my mouth shut and agreed to what he said. My other two family members also bought a lot of stuff, so I knew he got a good deal. They were talking in Arabic, so I wondered what amount they agreed on for everything we bought. At the end of the day, he will collect the money in U.S. dollars, not in Egyptian pounds. He told me mine was 5,500 Egyptian pounds, which is $178 ($1= 30.92 Egyptian pounds that day). I told him I thought it was 3,600, and he said I tried, but he didn't give it to me. It made me wonder why he told me not to talk to them (seller) anymore. He made a good deal every time we bought something but still charged us the exact amount. It's so sad; it's not about the money; it's the feeling that I thought he treated us as friends. He even says we are family. He looks at us like there's a dollar sign on our forehead. We trusted him so much and let him bargain for us so we wouldn't get scammed, but I feel like the scammer is just next to us. After all, it's all about business, it's all about the $, it's all about the profit, and there is no friendship built. God knows your motives before you even think about it; if you do something wrong, it will return to you somehow.

          Expectation VS Reality
We choose him because we thought he was trustworthy . I paid this guy ten and thousands of US dollars for a 12 days tour family of 3. When we arrived he tried to put all 3 of us in 1 room at Steigenberger hotel with an extra bed that look like a hospital bed. Honestly it was very disappointing. We complaint so the next day he booked another room adjacent to our first room. So issue was resolved. Our first day tour next day was for Giza and the Sphinx. That morning he introduced us to two ladies which i thought he just met them there by accident. He said one of them is his friend but little that we knew he included these two woman in our supposed to be private tour. On our way to the Sphinx I was surprised that they also hop in our van. Me and my daughter and my sister ended up at the back of the van on the way to the Sphinx and i thought to myself this is not right. This is a private tour for me and my family why these two ladies riding with us. So i spoke to him when we arrived at the Sphinx and he said oh they just ride with us because they could not get their vehicle in at the giza. And i was like at least you could have told me because i was expecting this is a private tour that i paid. So i guess he spoke to them and when we left the Sphinx i saw those two women walking and never ride with us anymore. I know his lying he include a 1 day tour in our private tour. Not fair! After 6 days in Cairo we went to Luxor via Nile Air This airline is so nasty seats are just nasty and dirty maybe the cheapest airline The cruise ship docked for 24 hours in Aswan before heading to Luxor. The next morning we went to Abu Simbel. Its a 3 hours one way to Abu Simbel. 6 hours round trip but when we get there he told us that we only have like 35 minutes to look around and take pictures because the cruise is leaving at 1:30pm and we need to get back on the road for the 3 hours drive back.. We are so disappointed we traveled 3 hours to Abu Simbel just to stay there for 35 minutes and we need to go back to Aswan. I told him that we could have been o Aswan on an early flight and he said that actually our flight was delayed that is why we arrived late. Imagine traveling 3 hours to Abu Simbel just to stay there for 35 mins. Insane! We sail to Luxor. He said when we get to Luxor he will gonna put us in an apartment because most hotels are far from the City. This tour guide lied so much. He put us on a cheap apartment maybe not even a $30 apartment per day with NO hot water for shower, towels is limited, we used the same towels for 2 days before the owner provide us a new towel on our last night in his apartment, we were mopping the floor every-time each of us take a shower. The balcony locks are broken we complain and they could not fixed it instead khaled Abbass can only say to us that luxor is safe. Would you believe that? He lied saying hotels are far the city but just right across that cheap apartment were in was a Steigenberger hotel and Resort. We also google hotel nearby and hotels are just popping nearby locations. This tour guide cut the budget so bad, the comfort that I paid for his own benefits not us as a tourist. When we were in luxor he asked if we wanted to attend an egyptian wedding? We said No! I guess thats his personal itinerary that day someone a friend or a family of his has a wedding that day and he wanted to go. We are nice enough to let him go to his family and mother in luxor. We are nice enough that we go with him where his mother and family lives. We went there 2 days and thats where we ate lunch for 2 days. spend most of our day there doing nothing but him doing what he needs to do taking care of his family business a d we ket him because we understand he said that he have never been to his mothers house since January of 2023. He even suggested on our last day we are going to Alexandria and after the whole day in Alexandria on our way back to Cairo we were going straight to the airport to catch our flight and we told him thats not possible. We need to freshen up after a long trip to Alexandria. Because i guess he don’t wanna booked the hotel for another day so we told him we need to go back to our hotel to rest and take a shower before heading to the Airport. We stayed in The Gate Hotel near Giza. A hotel room without any windows, the lobby with foul odor (horse poop) and trash on the street leading to the hotel entrance. This tour guide program says 5 star hotel or a luxury hotel in his quote for pricing but it’s a lie. You will only be in a luxury hotel or 5 star hotel when you arrived for few days in Cairo but when you go to luxor and head back to Cairo he will booked you on cheapest hotel or apartment. More money for his pocket. Khaled Abbass overpromised and we did not met our expectation. Btw, he asked me many time if I want a seafood.we will have some seafoods in Alexandria but when we get there he had already pre order us a plate of a rice and.Fish that we struggle to eat because its a kind of fish with so many bones. He paid 600 egyptian pound including his plate not even $20 . He never let us choose what we want to eat for lunch. We paid our own drinks as what was the agreement. I would like you to think twice before choosing this tour guide. This is a true experience happened to us with this tour guide. And if you don’t mind him smoking in front of you all the time go for it. This tour guide is a very well smoker. He smokes all the time even on our vehicle with his window open.
