Lantau Island and Giant Buddha Day Trip from Hong Kong
From US$135.80
If you’re visiting Lantau Island on your own from Hong Kong, there are plenty of sights you might miss. During this Big Buddha and Lantau Island tour, the day is planned so you don’t have to worry about wasting any time trying to figure out directions or other details. Along with a ride on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, visit Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery, Tai O fishing village, and Big Buddha statue.
What to Expect
This Big Buddha and Lantau Island tour starts with a hotel pickup from either Hong Kong or Kowloon. You’ll be transported to the express ferry, where you’ll cruise from Hong Kong Harbour to Lantau Island.

On the island, ride in a comfortable coach to Tai O, and spend some time exploring the fishing village with its over-water stilt houses.

Next, travel in a Ngong Ping 360 cable car up to see the Big Buddha and Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery. Enjoy lunch at the monastery.

Your Lantau Island tour ends with a drop-off back at your hotel in Hong Kong or Kowloon.

Worth every penny

I don't normally like tours, but this was a no brainer. Everything is taken care of, from all of the transportation during the tour to lunch. And I thought it was a really reasonable price. The day was long but you get to see a...More

Fantastic atmosphere!

I visited the Giant Buddha using the Ngong Ping 360 cable car. The reason I mention this is that there are several ways to get here, so I can only comment on the statue, and not the entire island. For those of you who want...More

Amazing day

Definitely a must see in Honk Kong, try to get there early before the crowds - catch the ferry from Hong Kong Island for a nice boat ride

If you are with a day tour group which I was then you skip all queues which is one big advantage of the day tour. Otherwise I would imagine you would either queue to buy a ticket or collect a ticket purchased online.

I actually took my family to this venue using the MTR. I booked tickets on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car the day before and travelled to Tung Chung Station. From there, it's a 5 minutes walk to the cable car station and that... More
