Cajon del Maipo 8km Hiking Day Tour in the Andes from Santiago
From US$110.00
Overview
This guided tour of Cajon del Maipo takes you to a popular waterfall, a natural thermal pool at Banos Colina, and a vista point at La Engorda Valley. A moderate 3-hour trek is made easier by guides who carry enough water and lunch for everyone, as well as tell you about the local environment as you walk.
What to Expect
After pickup from your Santiago hotel, head toward Cajon del Maipo, optionally stopping for breakfast in a local town along the way.

Warm up with a 25-minute hike to a popular waterfall. Then, begin your 3-hour trek to a vista point in La Engorda Valley with panoramic views of San Jose Volcano and the Andes Mountains stretching far beyond.

Your guides never rush you and keep you entertained with information about the ecosystem as you hike. Your guides also carry backpacks with snacks and water so you don’t have to, and they make you a picnic lunch to eat while you admire views.

Tour concludes with a celebratory glass of Chilean wine and drop-off at your Santiago hotel.

Please note: This tour is of medium difficulty and intended for people in good physical condition between 8 and 70 years old. Those with asthma, heart problems, obesity, or a surgical operation in the past six months should not attempt the trek. Tour is only available year-round.

Beautiful sites, long tour

I scheduled last minute; was not a problem for them. Got multiple confirmations leading up to pick up. Guide (Consuelo) was lovely: friendly, knowledgeable, and was looking out for everyone's needs the whole time. On the down side, everyone in the group had different expectations...More

Great hike!

Very fun hike with informative guides! Our guides shared great history about the area and kept an eye on everyone to make sure we were doing well during the trip. They also gave suggestions on other activities to do around Santiago!

Hotel pickup on time at 6:40. Stop for breakfast not included in price but rather cheap. Best empanada (pino with beef onion egg). More driving. Hike was great and probably close to the advertised 8k. You get really close to the Argentine border. Trail challenging...More

Great day hike to San Jose Volcano and the Maipo Valley

Francisco and Felippe are wonderful guides who are devoted and enthusiastic about introducing Chile, the Andes, and its people to us - nine people who joined the hike. The pickup was on time, and the rode ride was good. The scenery was magnificent and I...More

Highly doubt it. While the tour starts very early to avoid traffic in the morning, It can't really be avoided on the way back. Hence my tour ended later than stated.

No, you are picked up but it’s about an hour to drive to the trek (but you stop on the way so it’s actually longer). The whole trip is an entire day, but the trek itself is short - you stop for lunch for about an hour. It’s... More
