Begin your day with an 8.30am pickup from your central Santiago hotel by your private guide. Traveling aboard a private vehicle, set out on the 2-hour journey to Valparaiso, watching as the landscapes change from the urban sprawl of Santiago, to the rolling countryside, then the rugged cliffs and beaches of the coast.
On arrival in Valparaíso, enjoy your first glimpse of its UNESCO-protected Old Town by riding one of the funiculars up the hillside. Hop off to explore the hillside neighborhood of Cerro Alegre as your guide explains the origins of the town’s famous multi-colored houses. Pause to enjoy coffee and cookies at a terrace café, looking out over the port below.
Continue around the Old Town on foot, winding through the cobblestone lanes and stopping to admire vibrant street art, peek into small shops and galleries, and visit impressive viewpoints.
After lunch (own expense), choose to either visit the Museum of Pablo Neruda, devoted to the Nobel Prize winning Chilean writer, or set sail on a boat cruise around the harbor, looking out for sea lions along the coast.
Your tour ends with return transport to Santiago, where you’ll be dropped back at your hotel around 6.30pm.
Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required.
