- Trek7112970 contributionsTouring ValparaisoHad a good tour of Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar Got a better understanding ofthe history and geography of these cities. Luciano the guide and Alex the driver were excellent. They helped with pictures and questions. I feel blessed and lucky to have made this trip. Would recommend this tourWritten November 4, 2024
- Mister_Tee_6580 contributionsWaste of Time for English SpeakersThis tour is a waste of time for English speakers. The tour guide and guides at the winery were lovely, but the planning is awful. Winery tours are conducted sequentially by language spoke, with Spanish first, Portuguese second, and English last. We arrived around 10:00 but sat around for almost one hour before our winery tour and tasting began. By the time the tasting was over, there was no time to visit the wine store and buy anything; lunch is not included (which is fine), but there was no time to eat on our own nickel either, just sip seven wines and dash back to the bus. Save your money and just visit a nice wine store or two in Santiago. This is a lot of money for two hours on a bus and seven sips of very young wine.Written November 3, 2024
- Nubianadventurer0 contributionsBreathtaking Chilean mountainsLovely trip. The time spent at Cajon del Maipo was amazing. The quiet ambiance against the splendid backdrop of the mountains was simply serene. We had a nice lunch served at El Morado restaurant and there was ample time to enjoy the wide range of activities the spa lodge had to offer which included sauna, gym, swimming or a massage. If you want more down time, you can simply just bring a nice book and enjoy with a nice drink amidst the breathtaking Mountain views or use it for quite reflection/journaling (the world’s your oyster). The stops at San José town and Casa de chocolate were also lovely welcome additions. Finally our tour guide Germán was great. He was very enthusiastic, empathetic and attentive to detail including the needs of the wide range of people attending the tour. The driver Nelson also exercised exceptional skill in navigating the roads and displayed great patience. Overall a great day out and a pragmatic way to see beautiful Chilean landscape that would be difficult to get to otherwise.Written November 2, 2024

It is cold and windy at times, so wear warm clothes. We visited the place on November 1 st 2024. Luciano our guide and Alex our driver were fantastic. Thank you.Written November 1, 2024
- Trip8003610 contributionsWaste of Time for English SpeakersTotal waste of time for English speakers. Our local guides and the guide at the winery were excellent. BUT, the winery tours are sequential by language spoken, Spanish speakers first, then Portuguese, and finally English. We arrived around 10:00 and sat around for almost one hour before the English language tour, which finished around 12:30 and with only enough time to get back on the bus. Instead of being able to shop for wines AFTER the tour, there was barely enough time to get back on the bus and return to Santiago. Lunch is not included and there is no time to have lunch on your own nickel even if you wanted to. If you want to waste $200+ to spend two hours on a bus and sip seven young wines that you won't have time to buy, go right ahead. We suggest that you just save your money and visit a local wine store or two in Santiago where you'll be able to spend your money on wonderful wines instead of a bus ride and very rushed winery experience.Written November 1, 2024
- Nubianadventurer0 contributionsChilled wine in the Chilean countrysideVery well organised tour and great value for money. The tour included a visit to St Rita’s winery, its enchanting gardens and a wine tasting session. We were also served with a lovely hearty meal presented in a beautiful picnic basket which could be enjoyed in the designated picnic area of the vineyard. There was also an opportunity to visit the local museum (included in the price) which had impressive artefacts telling the history of the Chilean people. The tour guide Luciano and the driver Leo were incredibly patient, kind and attentive. Highly recommend the tour for visitors looking for a nice chilled out day in a vineyard with the backdrop of the Chilean countryside accompanied by courteous guidesWritten October 30, 2024

- chiouseea0 contributionsTuristik could do better. They could have sent a confirmation email with what to bring, what to expect and history notes of theWe were not provided with any details about the trip - like what to bring for the spa. At the spa, the operators spent too much time speaking to us about how to book the bath, the sauna, etc. They could have handed us the instructions after we had been seated at our lunch. None of the workers spoke English. The pool/spa place has no basic toiletries and no hot water. The place seems to be a work in progress.Written October 26, 2024

Total rip-off! An expensive and brief trip round a small part of the city centre with very little information provided. They are happy to tell you that you can get off at the Bellavista funicular stop - but not so good at telling you the funicular was closed that day and so there was no point. Avoid.

Do not waste your money with this company who miss-sold us our ticket on the hop on hop off bus. The modern city route is not interesting and also you then don’t get much information that you need to walk miles to get to the other bus route. The lady on the bus was so unhelpful and told us to get off at the funicular stop! We ended up walking for 1 hour and half and missing the old town parts!
My advice don’t waste your money on this and do it yourself. Old city is much more interesting and what you come for!
Also to note - TERRIBLE customer service !

We went on the classic tour the first day of our stay in Santiago. We booked a package to include the funicular and cable car to San Cristobel hill. The funicular and cable car were fun and worth doing and the views of Santiago stunning. We decided to then go on the downtown tour stoping at the fish mercardo for lunch (average food). The actual tour in English was very poor and the commentary was used to also push other tours by this company. The price is £23 each and £30 each with funicular and cable car tickets. For us way expensive - may be the North city tour is better and you can do both on one ticket. We think there are better options.

we try to do a HoHo tour whenever we get to a major city. On our first full day in Santiago we went to exchange the on line voucher for our tickets. It was easy to find the Turistik kiosk in the main square. That is when we found out that "Spring Edition" is not the same as the full package and only allowed us to deal with the route not in the historic centre; and we'd have to take the subway, bus or taxi to the closest starting point. So the alternative was to upgrade to eh full tour. We did that and the starting point was only 200 meters away.
Once on the historic tour everything was great - good information and system worked fine. We left the bus and then went to the funicular and cable car to get to the other route. We also had to get a shuttle bus to get back from the funicular to the historic route. The reason for all this was explained in that they were trying to keep the tourists away from the areas where the civil protests had been.
My only criticism is that the signage for the HoHo stops was not very prominent and there were no signs around the areas where the routes had changed - ie around the shuttle buses by the cable car stop or by the Sheraton.

Did hop on hop off bus today with Turistik today. Overpriced at A$46 each. You could not understand the English commentary because of the heavy accent and the volume( even trying different seats) did not improve. The bus stops are not clearly marked and we ended up walking a long way with others to find a stop. Some of us had different maps with different stops. Would not recommend, find a different company with a private guide.

This Hop on Hop off was the usual quick view around the city which was informative, fun and low cost. It also seemed to cover a broader view of the city from other tours. I like the top deck to get a better view.

I usually jump on a red bus the first day I’m visiting a new city so I can then choose what to do next with more time.
This bus departed on time and it had friendly staff, WiFi and the sound with headphone worked perfect.
The next 2 buses I caught didn’t have WiFi, the poor quality headphones they gave only worked on one side, when they worked. The recordings were at extremely low volume and if you changed the language, when on the WiFi option (last bus) sometimes they overlapped or broke down. So frustrating.
The stops were not on time - at all. The stops are not well defined in the map or their app. And even if you happen to be 20mts away waving your hands at them, they ignore your signals and leave you stranded.
Oh, their app is badly designed. Can’t zoom well on it, does not tell you where YOU are, does not have accurate sense of how far the next bus is.
Lastly, the staff from the first bus were friendly and knowledgeable; and they were young. The rest (4 more buses) behaved like your typical teenagers, did not provide good enough information on the system, the sites’ stops and how to jump back on, or any other support.
I stoped at the second last stop and walked directly to the hotel instead of jumping back on.
I’ve had the best experiences on these types of city bus tours. It is the first time I am so dissatisfied.
It looked to me that there were plenty of public transport buses doing the exact same routes.

This tour really fell short for me. I felt like I didn’t learn anything about the city - the commentary was random information. In addition the bus was old, the audio was muffled and overall you are just driving through traffic for 2 hours.
The stops are not at all advertised so you really need to look at the map or have wifi on your phone to know where to go for the bus. This felt a bit stressful, not wanting to miss the bus by being in the wrong location. In addition, the bus only comes every 30 mins so if you just miss it, it’s a long wait.
I wish I had spent the money to do a proper city tour to actually see sites and learn along the way.
The funicular and the cable car were good though!

The worst service that can be taken in the city of Santiago, buses without frequency, very long waiting times, they do not provide headphones, you go through the stops without any context, because without the audio guide it is like riding a city bus, the employees (although they are not to blame since they are only employees) do not respond for the quality of the service and in my case, although I made the complaint to the company, their response was to tell me that all the complaints expressed were lies, that they did not have buses , who did not have headphones and that the 20 to 25 minutes of frequencies were always met, they think that the tourist has time to waste and they do not care that the money paid was lost (almost 40 dollars per person), in the end it is better to take taxi or uber, it's cheaper, they don't have to wait 50 to an hour for the buses to arrive, the drivers also explain things about the city and they don't have to put up with the company's mediocre responses, they think that tourists have days free without anything planned or scheduled sitting in hotels and can reschedule another day as if nothing happened. As a tourist, one acquires a clear service, that is, a tour in a panoramic bus through the sites of tourist interest, with an audio guide in several languages, the above means that with 4 buses (which they had on Thursday, March 28, evidenced in the same application, which does not work correctly either) it is not possible to comply with a frequency of 20 to 25 minutes, if they have 10 stops it is impossible to comply with the first service and if they do not provide hearing aids it is not possible to comply with the second service acquired.
In our case, we were only able to get on two buses, on one of the buses they told us that we had to get on the cable car and funicular so as not to lose the tickets purchased at the same turistik since the same employees told us that if we didn't get on, it was not possible. use them another day, and when we left San Cristóbal Hill at stop 4 at 5:20 pm, the bus that arrived at the stop told us that they would no longer continue with the service due to problems with demonstrations in the city and even so the company wrote to us in an arrogant manner that they had fulfilled the service.
I invite you not to allow these companies to think that because we are tourists they can violate our rights, anyone who has had something similar happen to them can file a complaint with the SERNAC of Chile (it is the consumer service), they can do everything online. .

We took the bus from the Parque Arauco shopping mall, it has two floors, the top is open and you can see the city well, but as it was very cold, sometimes we got off because it was very warm below, this city tour has 10 stops and you can go up, get off and stop at the stops indicated on the map. The tour gives you a complete map of the city with points and stops, a headset that is plugged into the bus and has a narration (virtual guide) in three languages (Portuguese, Spanish and English); and also includes tickets to go up and down the cable car + funicular at Cerro São Cristóbal.
As we didn't have much time, we just went down to the Bicentenario Park, which is beautiful and worth seeing, and then we went to Cerro São Cristóbal where we took the cable car up and went down the funicular. Up there you have a beautiful view of the city, it's worth seeing. As we bought the tickets along with the bus when taking the cable car and funicular, we didn't have to wait in line and it was worth it because it was quite long.
