Highlights
  • An action-filled 4-day trek to the ancient Inca ruins of Machu Picchu
  • Mountain bike, zipline, and raft through the jungle
  • Enjoy this as an alternative to the famous Inca Trail
  • Learn the history of the Incas while watching the sunrise over the citadel
What to Expect
Start the tour with mountain biking atop Malaga mountain (4,350 meters) and a descent through meadows, streams, and small villages until the town of Huamanmarca. Enjoy a quick lunch before embarking on a rafting trip through class III and IV rapids on the Urubamba River. Day two begins bright and early with a trek along the river before climbing up towards the original Inca trail and enjoying the rich ecosystems that these landscapes have to offer. View the valley and river below before descending to the town of Qellomayo for lunch. Continue hiking towards the Cocalmayu hot springs, strolling past farms and waterfalls. Explore more of the Urubamba valley on the third day and zip line through the trees to Santa Maria before embarking on the final stretch to the ancient citadel. A bus and a short train ride will bring you to the small village of Aguas Calientes, at the base of Machu Picchu. An early morning wake up call ensures you will be at the top of the Machu Picchu at dawn and enjoy a short, guided walking tour before catching the train back to Cusco.

Dear Carmen, thank you so much for your commentary, we are happy to know the trek and the scenery were so beautiful during all the trail to Machupicchu. We are grateful to you for your comprehension regarding the cancelation of rafting activity, it was due to the increase of river flow. We are talking with our providers of accommodations for they can take more care with the room cleaning. Kind regards, INKAYNI PERU TOURS.
