It was built in adobe with view to the sea and the Lurin river valley. It was a pilgrimage site for many cultures that developed in ancient Peru. Upon arrival of the Incas, the complex was adapted to become an administrative center, respecting and adapting the local constructions. You can find there the Temple of the Sun, the Acllahuasi, the Palace of Taurichumbi, and the Pilgrimage Plaza, among others. We will also visit the Site Museum to get a better insight and appreciate the salvaged remnants of the area. The massive Temples of the Sun and the Moon are known to be the compound's most striking features. Built entirely of clay, an estimated 50 million sun-dried bricks were used in the construction of the Temple of the Sun alone. Excavations in the area continue to reveal further insights into the Moche and Huari cultures that spanned the period from 200 to 800 AD.

My friends and I booked this tour last minute, and we had a great time. TripAdvisory was prompt with information as to where we should be picked up, and they made sure it was at the closest hotel to our airbnb as possible (only a 5 min walk). Our guide was friendly and spoke wonderful English, and the van that were picked up in was spacious and clean.

Our guide took us through the ruins outside as well as the museum, and she was incredibly knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you have some time to kill in Lima! We got some great pictures with two llamas as well!

This was afantatstic trip that I through in at the last moment. The museum at the entrace was very interesting and the ruins themselves were very different than the Inca ruins that dominate Peru.
I onluy wish we had had more time to explore the women's palace as it looked very well preserved.

We had a good tour on our trip in January, but didn’t realize how much driving/traffic there would be. From the cruise port to the pick-up spot to the ruins took a few hours. We ended up with a substitute tour guide who recited facts, but didn’t comprehend English well, so conversation and questions were limited. Worth seeing the ruins, but maybe just Uber directly there and skip the tour operator

This was a great half day trip that did a lot to demonstrate the roots and development of Peruvian cultures that ultimately led to the Incan period. We had just enjoyed a fantastic trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu but managed to fit this trip in on our last day and it really did ‘join the dots’ for us. Well worthwhile and again very knowledgeable guide.

Such rich history here and the tour guide Mario did a great job at explaining everything. He took me through the museum and the temple. He provided a lot of information that helps you understand Lima way better. Would recommend coming here to see and hear the history.

Our flight was 3 hours late and customs was extra slow. We absolutely missed our trip but they scheduled the next day for us. It was a great 4 hour trip and they gave us great suggestions for the remainder of our time in Lima. Indefinitely recommend this as a first activity in Lima.

Pros : The guide was very interesting. The pick-up and drop-off were on time. I think this is one archeological site you have to visit once in your lifetime.

Cons : I would have prefer doing the whole circuit of the Temple of the Sun and not the half of it.

We thoroughly recommend this excursion as an excellent introduction to Lima, Peru and its rich cultural heritage. Our guide, Marvin, was outstanding in his knowledge and ability to communicate. There were 3 couples on our tour and we enjoyed the ride from our hotel through Miraflores and south of the city, passing ocean and sand dunes. The perfect weather was an asset as we walked around the temple and enjoyed the museum.

This tour is great for people like my husband who loves archeology and ancient ruins/civilizations and myself, who love Incan culture and history. If that’s not your thing, another tour would be better for you. If that is your type of fun, definitely worth the price for this tour. Easy pick up at the Marriott in Miraflores as we were staging at an Air BnB and they only pick up from hotels. The bus was nice and air conditioned. Our guide, Ursula, was very knowledgeable and we learned a ton from her. The temple of Pachacamac is something to behold. They locals are actively in the process of excavating the ruins and you can literally see bones, hair and textiles used to wrap the bodies of those that were buried there all throughout the dirt in the site. It’s something you have to see to believe! So much history still to be discovered in Pachacamac. The view from the Temple of the Sun was stellar! Enjoyed the museum and reading about the history of Pachacamac and seeing the artifacts found there. Ursula walked us around to must-sees of the museum and elaborates on the posted descriptions of the items which was neat. We had a great little group for our tour which made the trip all the more fun! Takes about an hour to get there and you spend about 1.5 hours there so it is truly a half day trip totaling about 3.5 hours. Perfect amount of time. Wear sunscreen, we did not and got quite burnt! Oops! Also, use the bathroom when you first drive in to the site and tour guide is buying the tickets as there are no bathrooms elsewhere throughout the tour.

one contacted me before about when and where to pick me up until I called their hotline to know the meet up time and place.
The following is the exact message from the travel agency.
"Your pick up time is scheduled between 9:10 am and 9:40am at the Melia Hotel, San Isidro."
Then, I arrived around 9:27am and called their hotline to look for the tour. However, the customer services told me the tour left at 9:25am. Then, the proposed solution is that I have to find a cab and catch up the tour.
This is the worst experience ever. If I was there within the schedule, no one called me before the tour left.
I will not recommend this tour to anyone.
