Overview
Explore Chernobyl without the distractions or restrictions of a group tour on this private tour from Kiev. Travel by private minivan and view the must-sees with the undivided attention of your guide, freeing you to ask what you want about the 1986 nuclear accident. Explore abandoned Pripyat and Chernobyl, view the Red Forest and reactor 4, and more. The flexible itinerary means you can tailor your day around you.
What to Expect
Meet your guide at your Kiev hotel or railway station and travel by private air-conditioned minivan to Chernobyl.

En route, hear about the April 26, 1986, Chernobyl accident, which devastated the area.

In the 18.6-mile (30-kilometer) zone, pass the derelict villages of Zalissja and Kopachi (deliberately buried to reduce contamination). Stop at the decontaminated Red Forest and Pripyat to see its decaying buildings and amusement park.

View reactor 4, encased in a concrete sarcophagus, and check out the Soviet-era Duga-1 over-the-horizon radar system.

In Chernobyl town, see the monument to Chernobyl’s firefighters. View the fire station and abandoned decontamination vehicles.
Your tour ends at the original departure point.

Note: Please contact us if you don’t receive a letter containing your tour details, including passport requirements, meeting time, departure point, and clothing in advance of your tour. This letter provides official confirmation that your tour is booked.

Well worth it

Very efficiently run company with great communication. Our tour guide Alex was great giving us loads of explanations and loving answering our questions. This is a tour well worth doing but expect a 12 hour day so it might not be suitable for young children.
