Full-Day Masada and Dead Sea from Tel Aviv

Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Leave Tel Aviv for the day and travel through the Judean Hills and on to the Dead Sea on this 11-hour guided tour. In a small group of no more than 19 people, ride a cable car to the mountaintop to explore the ancient fortification of Masada, where King Herod built palaces, and learn the story of its historic siege. Then relax while floating in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea.
  • Experience Masada and the Dead Sea in a day by coach from Tel Aviv
  • Explore Masada’s mountaintop ruins and learn their history from a guide
  • Visit the Dead Sea to enjoy its salt waters and therapeutic mud
  • Includes entry fees and an upgrade option for a smaller-group minibus tour
What to Expect
Book your preferred tour option and depart your Tel Aviv hotel by air-conditioned vehicle destined for Masada, where an ancient ruined fortress lies on a mountain plateau. En route, visit a Dead Sea mineral cosmetics shop and pass the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

At Masada, ride a cable car up the slopes to explore the Herodian and Roman ruins. See the remnants of Herod’s fortress-palace and an age-old synagogue, and hear about the Jewish zealots who committed mass suicide here to escape besieging Romans in AD 74.

Next, drive to the Dead Sea, located at the Earth’s lowest point. Enjoy time to float in the salt waters and bathe in the mineral-rich mud, believed by many to have healing properties.

Finally, return to Tel Aviv, where your tour concludes at your hotel.

Please note: The tour does not include a visit to the Qumran Caves.

Too much time lost in pick-ups for a speed visit to Massada and Ein Gedi. Both places a lot of mosquitos bitting us. The Dead Sea at Ein Gedi is carelessly preserved... Food at Ein Gedi was though excellent.

We had an excellent experience with our guide Ariel who assisted with our questions and talked about the relevant issues without becoming excessive as some other guides do. Go to Masada and see what the Romans achieved 2000 years ago and hear the story of...More

We signed up for the Dead Sea only tour so we could spend the day at the Dead Sea. Simple enough. It was the Sabbath so no public busses were running. I thought it would be easier than renting a car. Wrong. First they didn’t...More

Absolutely!! There’s a short stop en route to stretch your legs and maybe grab a snack and coffee? And when you reach the Dead Sea there’s a restaurant inside the spa and pool centre that serves exquisite food. But... More
