    What to Expect
Your tour begins with an early morning pickup from your Puno hotel in time for a 6:45am departure. After a short transfer to the port, hop aboard a motorboat and set off across Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America.
After a short boat ride, arrive at the Uros islands, extraordinary floating islands created using a base of buoyant Totora reeds. Learn more about the fascinating process of building and maintaining the raft-like islands from your guide, then step aboard to meet the local families and discover the unique culture and heritage of the Uros people. Admire their brightly colored clothing, watch demonstrations of local baking and handicrafts, and perhaps purchase some distinctive handmade souvenirs.
Back on the boat, soak up the scenery and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere on the around 1.5-hour journey to Taquile Island, one of the lake’s few natural islands. Here, you’ll have chance to discover the fascinating culture of the islanders, which is protected on UNESCO’s intangible heritage list. Watch demonstrations of traditional weaving, see how natural dyes are made using vegetables and minerals, and admire the vibrant ‘Chumpis’ (wide belts) worn by the islanders. Finish your visit by enjoying a lunch of typical Peruvian food, before setting out on the return journey.
Back in Puno, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Taquile is truly beautiful and the view from this island is spectacular. It was fun to see the floating islands, but I gotta agree with some of the other reviews here that it's rather touristy, commercialized and seems staged.

Our family really enjoyed this trip. As previously stated, Los Uros is a bit on the touristy side, but you still need to see life on these floating islands. Taquile is incredible! It is very beautiful, and the trout, that was part of the included...More

If you’ve seen water before then it’s not that exciting. The floating island felt like it was staged. The main island was cool beautiful lunch. If you want a day of chill then go for it. But be prepared for long boat trips.

Sad to see a proud indigenous people sink to the point that they let sad old ladies sing 'row your boat' for a dime. The tour turns in to "they are poor give them money, buy their stuff. Fake Inca boats, little kids singing for...More

It's been a couple of months since I did the tour, but if I recall correctly we were back around 15:45 (3:45pm).
