Overview

Experience the best of Osaka food, without any language barriers on this small-group tour. You’ll have an English speaking guide to recommend dishes such as tayoyaki (octopus), and show you hidden food spots that locals love. You’ll have no problems ordering food, as your guide will do it for you, and you’ll also see some of Osaka’s top attractions as you walk around the city.

What to Expect

Your Osaka food extravaganza begins by meeting your guide and heading to Kuromon Ichiba Market, which is well-known for its colorful market stalls and hole-in-the-wall style restaurants.

You’ll see plenty of shops and street stalls on Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street, and then head to Osaka’s downtown area of Shinsekai. Your guide will provide insights about the city along the way, and point out important landmarks like Tsutenkaku Tower, and Luna Park. Your taste buds will be tantalized by local staples such as kushi-katsu (skewers of deep-fried meat or vegetables) and you’ll see lots of Japanese-style pubs (izakaya).

Neon lights illuminate the busy streets of Dotonbori—one of Osaka’s most famous areas. Here, your guide will point out the enormous mechanical crab (a popular photo spot) and show you where to sample takoyaki (fried octopus balls). The tour will end at Namba station in Dotonbori.

Great stuff to see!

Rika, our tour guide, took us through the fish market and we were able to sample street food and visit some shops. We then went to the “new world” to eat a small dinner and explore the shops and markets there.
