Overview

No visit to Kuala Lumpur would be complete without sampling its three delicious culinary traditions: Indian, Chinese, and Malay. This great-value private tour is just like having your own local friend to guide you around the city center. Sample dim sum, satay, Indian pancakes, and more, as you tour the Bukit Bintang area and learn about Malaysian culture.

What to Expect

Greet your private guide at the AirAsia–Bukit Bintang Monorail station and head for the nightlife area of Jalan Bukit Bintang. Start at the Hutong Food Court to experience “siew bao” (crispy barbecued roasted chicken buns) and the Malay classic curry puff, a flaky pastry filled with chicken curry.

Amid the hawker stalls and seafood eateries of Jalan Alor, let your guide select dim sum and satay, Malaysia’s answer to kebabs. Visit a “mamak”—Malaysian-Indian eatery—for paper-thin “dosa” pancakes served with Indian sauces. Wash everything down with a foaming glass of “teh tarik” milk tea before you bid your guide farewell in central Bukit Bintang.

Excellent tour

My guide, Ramesh, was great. This wasn't a cookie cutter food tour, he was super flexible. I've recommended this tour to my friends who are their way to KL.

Very enjoyable food tour

With a group of 13 we've travelled to Kuala Lumpur. Therefore, we split our group in 2 (a mix with vegetarian/non-vegetarian and a non-vegetarian group) for the food tour. Manjeet was a very friendly tour guide that taught us a lot about Malaysian food and...More

Tour is 5 hours (1 pm - 6 pm), and I’d estimate there are between 12-15 indicidual stops. These range from just a quick stop to tell a story about a site to a seat in Maxwell Food Center for 20 minutes to have a bite to eat.
