- janeeV5352XC0 contributionsEpic and a must do!!!!This day was truly the best day I had on my holiday! It was by far the best excursion I have done! Totally recommend this!!! Phil was my guide and I’m so glad to have had him! For one, I would have got lost up there there if I was on my own. Because of the time of year, the visibility wasn’t so good and you really do need a guide that knows the way! It was snowing and there was low fog/cloud on this particular day. Am I glad I done this at this time of year? Hell yes! It was an awesome experience! Would I do it again, oh yes!!! Phil was hilarious! He was kind, caring sweet, funny, great chat, very professional and knowledgeable! He put safety first and got us up there and down safely 👏 I felt at ease and safe with Phil. I think having a good guide makes or breaks your experience of an excursion. Phil made this one epic!Written March 11, 2025
- 308uniquep0 contributionsMindblowing ExperienceWe had an incredible experience in this Full Day Trek cum Hot Springs tour. All the effort we took for climbing the Ice Capped Mountain got eased by the extremely Charismatic Mr. Velko. Velko is not only an amazing tour guide but a very sweet person who has made that one day a memorable one. He is very knowledgeable, well spoken and a true gentleman. Such charisma is very rare. He had provided us all the appropriate safety equipment, patiently explained the mechanism and made sure everyone used it correctly. Thank you Velko and Azimut Tours to have made this a superb experience for us.Written March 6, 2025
- janeeV5352XC0 contributionsTotally epic!!!Was so great!! The lakes were frozen over and had snow on them but given the time of year, it was still worth doing! I really enjoyed! I would recommend this. Alex was the mountain guide and driver. Alex was friendly, kind and caring. He drove very safely and was a fantastic guide. The tour started later due to safety reasons as the weather was very cold. I liked that he took safety very seriously as I know being in the mountains 🏔️ can be a very dangerous territory. I personally wasn’t bothered for the hot springs pool as I don’t like being in the water nor swimming. I did the trip only for the 7 lakes. The rest of the group wanted to do the pools and Alex let me sit with him and we had lunch instead which I was grateful for as I was hungry anyway. What a great day. Totally loved it and would highly recommend it. The views were lush!!!!! I’m a mountain girl and just loved this Trek.Written February 22, 2025
- martakZ7680IZ0 contributionsVELKO IS THE BESTWe had the absolute pleasure of having Velko as our guide in Sofia on Valentine’s Day, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the very start, his warmth, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge of the city made the tour truly unforgettable. Despite us not having the most appropriate clothing for the weather, Velko went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and still got the best experience possible. His adaptability and willingness to accommodate us showed just how much he genuinely cares about his guests. He tailored the tour to our needs, making sure we didn’t miss out on any of the incredible sights and history that Sofia has to offer. Not only was he incredibly informative, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the city’s past and present, but he also made the experience fun and engaging. His passion for his work is evident, and his friendly personality made us feel like we were exploring the city with a friend rather than just a guide. If you’re visiting Sofia and want a tour that is both educational and enjoyable, look no further than Velko! He truly made our Valentine’s Day special, and we couldn’t recommend him enough. Thank you, Velko, for your kindness, expertise, and for going the extra mile to make our experience one to remember!Written February 15, 2025
- Oliver B0 contributionsBest Activity To Do in SofiaOne of the most enjoyable days imaginable. Daniel was an excellent guide throughout. As we went in the winter, the lakes were covered by snow and it was breathtaking. The thermal spa was a perfect way of ending it too.Written February 13, 2025
- Roam646633592250 contributionsSnowshoeing and thermal bathsKiril was an exceptional guide. Very informative, patient and above all very sociable. We had such a lovrly time snowshoeing on the Pirin mountains for about 5hrs and then hetook us to the alpha termal pool for as long as we wished for. Defenetly recommend Kiril for zn adventure like this.Written February 2, 2025
- Dale C0 contributionsOk, but not value for moneyOverall was a nice enough trip. The guide was friendly enough, but never gave us that much information and only when we were halfway to the lakes he says “they’re covered in snow so you won’t see them”. So a “lakes” trip was a bit misleading. And when we got to each one he didn’t tell us anything. The hike itself was really beautiful, however my girlfriend’s snow shoes were broken so couldn’t do up properly, rubbed like crazy leaving her with cuts and bruises. At one point they did just compensate my fall apart. The guide was miles away and wasn’t really looking back to check on people so I had to try and sort it myself. The spa was nice enough, although a little run down and there were no options for massages etc. Overall ok, but the broken snowshoes ruined it for my girlfriendWritten February 1, 2025
- Global574068897880 contributionsAn amazing daily tripWe went for a day trip at demyanista vally in the snow. We spent an amazing day with kiril the guide. He was very professional, give us a lot of information about the place and the area, He is kind and pleasant. We have a vip tour, fun and experience. We are highly recommend. - Rhackxzs0 contributionsWindi, Snowy HikeA one if a kind experience. It was my first time to do snowshoe hiking and Danny (my guide) made sure i was comfortable, warm, and keeps checking how i was doing. The trail was 12kms in total..it was nearly pure white all.over bcos of the fog. It was humid and VERY WINDY!! a bit extreme as Danny said. But it was one for the books for me. Will definitely recmmend this to anyone who wants a different challenging experience.Written January 22, 2025
- hartmanshira130 contributionsSnowshoeing at the Seven Rila LakesSnowshoeing at the Seven Rila Lakes was an unforgettable experience! The trail was definitely challenging, but every step was worth it for the breathtaking views and the sense of accomplishment at the end. Our guide, Mari, was absolutely fantastic. She struck the perfect balance of pushing us to go beyond our limits while being supportive and encouraging the whole way. Mari’s kindness and positivity made the experience even more enjoyable, and our conversations about life along the way added a personal touch that made the day truly special. If you're looking for an adventure that’s both physically demanding and deeply rewarding, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!Written December 30, 2024
- Dolevfr0 contributionsA good experience. The guide was very sweet and knowledgeable, and treated us with homemade dessert. The hiking experience was unique but we couldn't see almost any views because of the weather. They should mention it might happen before selling. There was no time to eat and rest properly between activities. There was a feeling of rush throughout the day. The baths we're nice. The guide took us with a small car so we had to sit tightly for hours with the other couple (we were two couples in total), something to consider.Written December 29, 2024
- 324boreas0 contributionsGreat adventure, mindblowing scenery and excellent guidanceMe and my colleagues would like to express our great thanks and appreciation to Kiril and the team of Azimut Tours for the friendly and precise communication, planning our trip to Rila mountain according to our wishes and physical possibilities, sharing knowledge about the history of the people and the mountains, providing us with detailed information about route, equipment, weather conditions, techniques of movement, and possible approaches for our snowshoes walk, guiding us through the astonishing winterly 7 Rila Lakes, and up to the top of the world, than back to the hot springs of Separeva Banja for the ultimate relaxation with our heads overfilled with beautiful, majestic sights. Great many thanks, and we surely are up for a longer adventure next time:)Written December 28, 2024

- oliverbM4724YI0 contributionsDisappointed lack of communication on appropriate gear to bring. We were not told the correct gear to bring, so did not see the lakes. "I would recommend you to have: comfortable hiking, or running shoes (so far there is still no necessity of hiking boots, but let's see after the next days bad weather if there won't be some snow; warm second layer (fleece, or pullover); winter jacket; winter hat and gloves; sunglasses may be useful and a day pack for your water bottle, extra clothes, etc." So 2 of our party brought running shoes. This was not sufficient and our lovely guide made the best of the bad situation so we did a forest walk instead. We bought boots for one but the other we couldn't find the right size so he wore plastic bags between his trainers to keep his feet dry. We ended up doing a nice forest walk but we did not see any lakes.Written December 2, 2024

both Kiril and Georgi are wonderful. Kiril was in contact with me throughout via WhatsApp with updates, which significantly helped with the booking, and they both accommodated my tight schedule that day, made sure I got to the airport on time straight from the tour. Georgi was a wonderful guide, provided lots of information (even weeks after the tour when I forgot certain details!) and helped us take pictures. we almost didn't get to see the Eyes of God since there was a movie shooting there that day (and of course no one provided the tour company any updated information, what can you do?) will try to book another tour with them if I return to Bulgaria.

I would highly recommend this tour. I was picked up by Georgi on time and we visited the Saeva Dupka cave first. Georgi was really fun and knew a lot about local history so the trip was never boring. The cave itself as one of the most famous in Bulgaria was fantastic. We were really lucky since it was not a busy day. We almost had the whole cave to ourselves. The Eyes of God cave was magnificent - it really made me wonder how it was formed. The view from any angle was great.
As one of the oldest (perhaps the oldest), Glozhene Monastery was the highlight of the day in my opinion. It was situated at the top of the mountain, offering a breath-taking panoramic view of the mountain ranges.
We arrived back in Sofia quite early so I had some time to explore the city. It was a great and flexible tour which I really enjoyed.

Amazing tour of the caves and an even more amazing guide Maria! The caves are very different - Eyes of God is huge and above ground, Saeva Dupka is a big underground cave with many chambers and even sleeping bat residents on the ceiling. Glozhene is a unique experience as the monastery is perched up on a mountain and accessible only by winding mountain roads.
Maria also offered a great chance to hike by the Eyes of God cave, so we got to experience the true wonder of Bulgarian nature hikes.
Overall this was a great experience, and again - an absolutely amazing guide who made it a unique and memorable day.

My family and I had a wonderful day with our GREAT guide Velko! He knows everything there is to know about lovely Bulgaria and is happy to share with his guests. He is hilarious and very passionate about his country and his work. The caves were interesting, the restaurant for lunch perfect, and the monestary beautiful. All in all we had a perfect day and will come back to Bulgaria again just for Velko :)

Amazing trip with George ! Can’t say enough about the tour - it made our holiday. Adventure - nature - knowledge - George is a wonder guide and a beautiful soul - he really showed us the real Bulgaria. It was all amazing - we can’t put a highlight as honestly it was as good as it gets. The perfect trip if your visit Sofia. If you do the eyes of god ask to see Saint marina chapel and hike to the cave. 10/10. The black monk Nectari is incredible at the monastery. Such an honour to visit this man in his monastery

We had an amazing day! The attractions we visited were really interesting and the way everything was presented from our guide Kiril was absolutely stunning! We could not have wished for a better tour, a better guide and a better day! We were adapting the agenda towards what was interesting for us and we saw and experienced so much more than we were even wishing for! We did some tours during this trip also with other tour operators which were also great, however this one was THE ONE! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us and we will definently come back for more!

Kiril was very friendly and professional. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed my day. Appreciated that I was given options and allowed me to enjoy the tour at my pace. The caves and monastery is a must see when you’re visiting Bulgaria!
To further add, the next day, my trip from a different company was cancelled without prior notice. I rang Kiril whom when out of his way to organise another tour(Rila Lakes and Spa) and guide for me for that day last minute! Deeply appreciative he went that extra mile for me and had another amazing day organised by Azimut Tours. Thank you!

It was a perfect trip within a day, first exploring the unique karst area of Prohodna Cave, or "The Eyes Of God" nature wonder and the nearby St.Marina rock monastery well hidden by the Iskar gorge. After that we emerged in the beautiful Saeva Dupka Cave and last but not least we visited the wonderful Glozhene monastery.
