About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Russell R0 contributionsUnforgettable experience, incredible guideWe hit the jackpot to have Nikola as our guide at Plitvice Lakes. He has incredible knowledge and just a great guy to get to know over the 3 hours walking the lower lakes. We would highly recommend this tour. It’s hard to imagine enjoying our visit to the park nearly as much if we did it in our own. We also appreciated the flexibility accommodating our schedule.Written October 5, 2024
- Saundra M0 contributionsBest 6hr private tour of our 3 week trip.PATRICIA was a true delight and highly informative of the Lakes being that she grew up in the forest. She was patient and kind while answering all of our questions. In addition she helped us with our transportation concerns. I'd recommend her as a guide to any of our friends in America 🇺🇸. Thank you again and best wishes, only. Ssundra and AnitaWritten September 3, 2024
- MichaelD82930 contributionsAmazing tour for a Family of FourVery easy walking tour, super fun and informative guide Patrizia, she made the tour amazing, it’s a more efficient way to see the best parts of the tour, she knows all the best view points and tricks to make your time enjoyable.Written July 29, 2024

- X4288QVvickie0 contributionsLEO was the best!We had a 6 hour private tour with Leo. He met us at our nearby hotel and was an enormous help in guiding us through the park so we saw all the most beautiful spots. He was considerate to go at our pace. He knows everyone as he is local. He even got us a dinner reservation at the best place where we had tried twice in advance with no luck. LEO has a great personality, he is knowledgeable, and kind—the perfect guide!Written September 23, 2023
- 474elisak0 contributionsbeautiful dayso amazing. Nikola is a fantastic tour guide. a must for a visit to the most special place to see if you are heading to this part of Croatia.Written July 12, 2023
- Venture2798370 contributionsHighly Recommend having a guide for the park. Nikola company is outstanding!Amazing day and experience. Nikola made the tour exceptional....he grew up here and was very knowledgeable. Better yet was his storytelling and navigation of the park. Tha nk you for an unforgettable day!!Written July 12, 2023
- Jill S0 contributionsPrivate tour lower and upper lakesExcellent tour with our guide Andriji ( Andy) or family of 4 explored the lower and upper lakes. Andy spoke excellent English, was polite, helpful, full of useful information and had a good sense of humour. Excellent organisational skills and knew how to avoid the big tour groups and crowds . The lakes are magical and Andy’s obvious love and appreciation of his local area was very apparent. Thoroughly recommended !Written July 8, 2023
- brad9350 contributionsOrbt Eva and Nikola 10/10First of all, Plitvice is a must-see if visiting Croatia. It's a natural wonderland, super-beautiful, and very accessible. Secondly, we are SO HAPPY we hired Nikola with Orbt Eva to take us around. We spent two half days with Nikola, day one visiting the lower lakes and day two on the upper lakes. Both days were about 3.5 hours. He is a native of the area, super-enthusiastic, and highly knowledgeable. Certainly, you can visit Plitvice without a guide, but it's a mistake in my opinion. An expert guide like Nikola will point out-out details, large and small, you will miss otherwise. We plan to return at some point and will seek out Orbt Eva and Nikola. 10/10Written July 2, 2023
- daleil20160 contributionsA magical experience with a pleasant and experienced guideThe view was magical and the experience was magnificent. Our guide Nikola was very pleasant. He is very experienced and has been grow up in the region. He shared many interesting facts both about the park and the region. He is funny and social, but still gave us lots of space. Highly recommend!Written June 11, 2023
- tomislavb6160 contributionsPrivate tour with Nikola made our day in Plitvice Lakes National park so much more enjoyableWe had a wonderful day with Nikola visiting the wonders of Plitvice lakes. Having a private tour was so much better than going in a crowded group, highly recommendedWritten June 5, 2023
- GrandTour216124871350 contributionsWould recommend this tourI went on fairly overcast day after a lot of rain so a lot of the park was closed. However, that didn’t stop Nikola from showing me all the great areas/trails that could be used. He was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions that came up. Overall it was great experience and I’m looking forward to doing this tour again on my next trip to Plitvice Lakes hopefully during better weather conditions.Written May 19, 2023
- Da_Old_Nick0 contributionsGreat day in PlitviceWe spent a great day with Leo, discovering the park, the lakes, getting to know the wildlife (numerous fish, elusive crawfish, birds) and the history of the region. Excellent tour with an excellent guide ^^Written October 9, 2022

After completing a 6 hour guided tour of the upper & lower decks, my honest opinion is you don’t need it.
Don’t get me wrong, the tour was relatively good, informative and it did take us to all the paths, even loss a couple of kgs, which if we were on our own…we’d probably given up midway in the scorching heat. However, when you’re in a group with continuous incoming summer crowds both groups and self discovering, we did not have enough time to enjoy each part of the lake compared to if you were at your own pace.
When you’re in a group, you need to move when the guide moves regardless, and if your group stops, it kinda jams up the pathway and you don’t want to do that, so you tend to move on rather quickly.
So I’d highly recommend to self discover, you’ll still have the brief boat ride after an unimaginable queue, but you get to leisurely enjoy every spot, soak it all in as the lakes are truly beautiful. I would imagine the best time would be in autumn because of the changing colours and cooler temperatures.
If you’re staying overnight in a nearby town, get proper prior information about the distance from your guesthouse/hotel as they’d probably be the most helpful to you, the locals aren’t. If you are walking, taking a bus etc. as google maps are not very precise at these locations at times. Buses to/fro Zagreb to Plitvice can be easily purchased online, just arrive 15 mins earlier at the specified bus stops.

My wife and I, in our early 60s took the Grayline Plitvice Lakes National Park all day tour with Petra on October 12,
2024. Our guide Petra was excellent and his knowledge of the entire route and Plitvice National Park made it a remarkable experience. Petra also had a dry wonderful sense of humour which was a bonus. The waterfalls located throughout the national park where spectacular. The only suggestion that I have for Grayline is that they provide all passengers with a complete itinerary of their day. Overall, a wonderful experience with many easy hikes for those in relatively good shape.

Had the best time exploring and seeing the gorgeous views. Leo was a brilliant guide, would definitely recommend. He was very knowledgable but also kept us laughing the whole time!
Would highly recommend doing this outside of peak season especially, as the park being less busy meant we had a much better time than I expect we would have.

The description says that buying tickets would guarantee skipping the long lines but it is NOT true!! We had to wait for the electric boat for 30 minutes. The queue snaked all the way into the forest.
Had we known, we wouldn’t have listened to the guide to take a 20 minute break at the pier.
The guide was also boring - giving us info that we can easily get from Google. Our tour in my opinion was draggy and uninteresting. 3 -4 hours of wasted time. It was not worth paying €50.- per person for the Greater and Lower Lakes tour. This company ought to be ashamed at offering such a poor service!

There are many hundreds if not thousands of waterfalls. The lakes are aqua blue and the water is crystal clear. The water is so pure that upstream from the falls local villages get drinking water straight from the streams without treatment. The mountains are also very scenic. Finally the paths are either crushed stone or are planks cut from beech trees so very easy walking. Reasonably should take at least three hours to make the loop but probably at least four hours at a leisurely pace. Best site we seen over nearly three weeks in Croatia and Slovenia. Highly recommend a guide.

Leo was an incredible guide and has a long family history with his part because his grandfather worked here his father worked here, and his brother is now the Director of the largest hotel in the park.. it shows how much the family loves this place and our four hour tour turned into seven hours, which was wonderful. We saw everything that there was to see so knowledgeable, and very very passionate about his love of. Plitivice National
Park. I would recommend Leo to anyone that visits this place!!!! definitely a five star guide plus more

Really wonderful place!!!! We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day in April to visit. The park offers at least 7 different trail options to follow based on the entrance you use, how much time you have to spend, and how long you can hike. The waterfalls are stunning, the park is well maintained and maintained, the water is crystal clear and a wonderful study in biosystems. Definitely yes to a visit!!!!!

The place was amazingly beautiful, pristine and otherworldly! You won’t want to miss it, if traveling in Croatia! Leopold was our guide. Five-star!!! He was kind and competent and very knowledgeable of this national jewel! He was extremely patient, even offering to take pictures of tourists not in our group! This was impressive. His kindness and patience along with his knowledge of history and interesting facts. We were totally satisfied and happy! Highly recommend Plitvice and Leopold as a guide!

Leo was an amazing guide! Kind, informative, and funny on this ~6 hour tour. We left feeling like we got a complete view of the park and what it had to offer, as well as learned a lot about the plants, wildlife, and other bits of history related to the park. We were staying near entrance 3, and Leo gave us great directions on how to exit the park efficiently. Highly recommend, especially if you only have 1 day in the park.

Hi! Im thinking about traveling to Plitvice from Zadar on Sunday and I’m traveling alone so I didn’t want to take on the lakes alone. I was wondering if this was a group setting or if it was a personal tour (I’m not a big fan of groups so personal would be awesome but if not that’s okay too). Also, just to be clear, the price includes admission to the park? And one more thing - there is no “time” listed that it begins/ends, does that mean I get to choose?
Please let me know asap! That way I can book my transportation to the park.
Thank you :-)
