    What to Expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Makandawa Forest Reserve, Yatiyantota D.S, Kithulgala South GS division, Kitulgala Sri Lanka

08.00 am: You will be picked up from Plantation hotel and transferred by Tuk Tuk to do a bird watching tour at Makandawa forest reserve which is home to many of Sri Lanka’s endemic fauna & flora. The unique experience of visiting this Kitulgala forest reserve is the boat trip across the river. Most of the lowland endemic species of birds including the Green-bill Coucal, Chestnut-backed Owlet, Red-faced Mal koha, Sri Lanka Spot-winged Thrush, Grey Hornbill, Sri Lanka Spur fowl, Ceylon Jungle fowl and Yellow-fronted Barbet can be seen in this forest. Mammal species found here include the Grizzled Indian Squirrel, Layard’s Striped Squirrel and the Purple-faced Leaf Monkey. The streams hold endemic fish and many species of amphibians. The Earless Lizard, Kangaroo Lizard and the Hump-nosed Lizard are among the reptile species and are frequently seen in the foliage along the Kelani River.

12.00 pm: On completion of the Bird watching tour, you will be transferred to Plantation Hotel for your buffet lunch by the river.

    Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Belilena Cave, 8 Km From the Town of Kitulgala., Kitulgala 71720 Sri Lanka

01.00 pm: After lunch, you can do a cycling tour to Belilena cave which is a great way to experience the sceneries and the local village lifestyles. This cave is located up a steep path on a hillside close to the town of Kithulgala, where from a close by a ledge, you may look down over a breathtaking view of rubber plantation, jungle vegetation and hills. ‘Balangoda Man’ was given the scientific name of ‘Homosapiens Balangodensis’. Fossils believed to be approximately 32,000 years old have been found in recent archaeological excavations. Belilena Cave’s damp and dark depths are famed for the thousands of bats which have taken up residence in the cave’s cool interior, and they flit about seemingly haphazardly, in the discomforting beam of your torchlight. Colorful butterflies can be seen dancing around the entrance to the cave.

04.00 pm: After the Cycling tour, you will be transferred back to Plantation Hotel.
