      Fantastic Soup Dumpling Making Experience
Mike was an awesome instructor and very accommodating to our 11yr old. It was our wish list to learn to make Shanghai soup dumplings in Shanghai. We loved every minute of making the Xiao long bao and Fried spring rolls. It was even tastier to eat them. Highly recommend this activity to any group.

      Family fun making delicious dumplings!
Chef Mike was the best host!! We really enjoyed our cooking class. He made it super fun and we learnt how to make delicious dumplings and spring rolls from beginning to end. His English is amazing…thank goodness as my Mandarin is not good!! The whole family enjoyed it and it’s a memory we will have for a long time. Thanks Chef!!

      Fun and delicious experience
Our instructor was Chef Linda and she was great with us. We made xiao long bao (a steamed soup dumplings filled with pork) and Shanghai-style fried spring rolls. These spring rolls pack a lot of flavor from a small bit of pork, cabbage, bamboo shoots, and shiitake mushrooms. The trick to making anything fired healthier and light is to have your cooking oil on high heat and only fry for 10 seconds until spring roll wrapper turns golden brown. Both were delicious and we ended up with lots of leftovers.

      An outstanding cooking class
Our group booked a Chinese cooking class in Shanghai & it was amazing. We learned how to use the famous Wok & a few cooking “tricks”. We prepared three dishes, chicken kung pao, sweet & sour pork, & a spicy beef with noodles. And we ate what we prepared and it was good. It’s a modest place, but once you arrive, it has a reasonably sized kitchen, two large prep tables & two large tables to eat. We were a group of 6, and there was another group of 6 at the same time, but they had two chefs working different class & dishes. One of the chefs spoke very good English & it was easy to understand and follow.

      Chef Mike is the best!
Two friends and I did this cooking class on September 13, 2018 and we could not have had a better experience! Chef Mike is a fantastic cook and a wonderful teacher. He is also really fun to hang out with! His kitchen facility is awesome and has everything you need. We chose to make the pork dumplings and sesame balls and both turned out great. Chef Mike also gives you the recipes so that you can make them at home, and I plan to make them in the next few weeks. This class was great and I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

Great Experience! Perfect addition to Vacation!
My daughter and I had a private dim sum class with Chef Mike! We had a wonderful experience! I do feel we learned enough to go home and duplicate the food. It was a wonderful experience that adds to our vacation. Would highly recommend this class for all cooking levels!

      Great experience
Visiting with my two children 13/15 I can highly recommend the workshop. Interest of the kids in cooking has to be there.Chef speaks no English but in cooking that isn't problem.

      Fun vegetarian cooking class
We had a private dim sum/Shanghai noodle cooking class with chef Mike, and had a very nice evening! Our teenagers enjoyed themselves, and there were no problems adapting the recipies to the vegetarians in the family. The dumplings and noodles turned out great and were so so tasty! Recommended!!!

      Really fun and educational
We attended one of the Vegetarian classes hosted by Mike. It was such good fun and at the same time educational in the type and style of Chinese cooking. Mike speaks perfect english and the paperwork is very well prepared meaning you can take home the recipes and make them again. All the ingredients we used were very fresh and easy to find locally not only in China but most places around the world. We made three dishes in the two hour class and we were able to have a large lunch from them and also take one away for eating another time. I can highly recommend, even if in Shanghai for a short time.

      Even Good For Kids
UnTour Food Tours recommended this place for a cooking class and we were not disappointed. When booking the class, they helped us find a date and class that would be suitable for the kids. We did the dumpling class. Our 6-year-old twins were able to participate in every step. Yes, the main teacher does not speak English but I don't think it made any difference. She was very kind and watching her was easy to follow. I think that's probably why it was easy for the kids too. The facility is clean and easy to work in. There were plenty of staff available to keep the work areas clean. Then we got to enjoy what we made with the new friends we met in the class outside one their patio along with beers and drinks! We took Line 1 of the metro and it was not a far walk from the Heng Shan station to the kitchen however there are actually two houses that have #2 as their street number. It's the second house. Good luck and have fun cooking!
