Was nothing I expected, very short trip in my opinion and they took us to a restaurant of their choice which was pricey. Just be aware

      Paradise!
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this day! The boat ride was amazing and we even saw some dolphins. The tour guide- Dianna, was great and super knowledgeable. Snorkeling was so fun and included. The island was beautiful. The the drinks were amazing!! We didn’t want to leave. The only downfall was the travel to get there. We met at the best western and got on a bus to El Jardin, where we had breakfast (not included) then we took another bus to the dock. Both were about 30 minutes. But all well worth it to see the island!

      Good but pricey
The tour was nice and the tour guide Percy was amazing. However, be ready to spend money once you get on the beach. Nothing is included (chairs, drinks, activities and even the bathroom) all cost extra. The one thing I liked was the 5 hours on the beach.

Be careful with what you book
Horrible customer service. Don’t book if you don’t want to waste your money. They do false advertising. My kids didn’t have a good time.

This the only volcano where you can see the crater bottom and sulfur gad coming out. The pickup and drop off was smooth. The tour guide was knowledgable and the driver was very good too! Will take this tour again through Tripadvisor- Hassle free booking and communication

      Stop reading, just book it!
The crew on this beach day excursion boat worked like a well oiled machine. Ruben, Eduardo and Capt. Santos really made the experience so much fun for our group of six friends. The boat is clean and safe, the crew are super friendly, attentive and kind. Your glass won’t stay empty long! The ice water is cold, as are the drinks-and everyone enjoyed the picnic lunch. Saw lots of fish while snorkeling and a little wild pig on the beach!

      Beautiful island, peaceful, relaxing
Well planned out and beautiful island. Only drawback was that I felt the Spanish version of descriptions was much longer than the English, it was very obvious. I mentioned to my son who was with us that I felt we werent getting the full details. He speaks Spanish fluently. He laughed and said we definitely were getting a shortened version. That was a bit dissapointing.

      Fair. Good. Nice.
It was fair. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t cooperative and we could not see the volcano crater at all. The Alasacia Starbucks coffee farm was merely a scenic stop and opportunity to purchase a relatively expensive (yet delicious) Starbucks coffee. Our guide was warm and sweet, but I would have appreciated a little bit more in-depth information about our surroundings, our sights and experiences.

Best of the best! Highly recommended
Thank you with my friend for an amazing experience. We're very happy. The trip was wonderful. We've seen many animals. We were even snorkeling just off the island. Afterwards we were given a snack in the form of fresh fruit and then a delicious lunch. The island is a complete paradise on earth. The workers from inside tours were very nice and helped with everything.

      Great volcano experience.
Marcela was very friendly guide and made a great trip experience. She explained clearly all the activities and history about the volcano and community around. I always recommend this company.

      Don't go on this tour
Too much money for a trip to the beach. I felt like all they were trying to do was separate me from my money. The boat ride was nice, but when we went snorkeling, they didn't have soap for the masks and no fins. So it was OK but could easily been better. The beach was OK, but there was a lot of trash in the surf. You had to pay to use the chairs and go to the bathroom. The waiter only can by twice once to tell us about the chairs and the charge for using the bathroom and then to collect the money. So every time we want another drink, we had to walk up to the bar. Wish o hadn't booked this tour.

      Tortuga island experience
We had a great time on this tour. It was run very well and it's definitely a great tour if you want to have a little snorkeling experience and then lunch and booze. Honestly, i don't really see this tour as a "family tour". It's more for couples and groups of adults. Once you take the boat drive to Tortuga you get off find your seat and then decide to snorkel or just splash in the water. There is a bar (you do have to pay for alcohol) some is included. Then they feed you a very good lunch. I will say it gets crowded so make reservations early and if you are looking for something that is calm, quiet and less crowded this would not be for you.

    Here’s why I gave this tour a 3 star:

When booking this tour, it asks for a pickup location which I placed. The day before the tour, the company messaged me saying that the pickup location is a different spot (which was like 30 min drive from where I am). I contacted the tour guide Diana who was helpful. However, I got a response back saying it was too late to change the location which did not make any sense. After going back and forth with the tour company about the pickup location, I contacted trip advisor. Trip advisor was helpful as they sent an email with my correct pickup location, only then did this tour company agree to pickup me up from the original place I had requested. This caused unnecessary stress and worry. That being said they then gave me a pickup time of 4am. Once they picked me and another couple from our location. It was around 4:15am, we waited about 40 minutes in the bus before they went to San Jose as their pickup times were starting at 5 am. We toured about 2 hours through San Jose to different hotels picking up everyone. We didn’t get to the dock and start the tour until 8am. So at this point we were in the bus for 4 hours already exhausted.

The tour itself was decent, food was good. We did snorkelling and saw some dolphins. Had about 6 hours of beach time as well.

On our way back, we made 2 stops for bathrooms. Here is another reason I gave this a 3 star. On our drive home, the city/location I stayed in comes first before San Jose. However, they passed the city and drove straight to San Jose to drop off all those passenger THEN went back to my city to drop me off. I was the first person to be picked up and last person to be dropped off at 9pm. So basically, avoid booking this tour if you are not staying in San Jose. Although the beach was nice, this day was sooooo long, tiring, and exhausting that I would not do it again personally. This was a long 17 hour tour.

Hello, we are sorry for the problem with the starting point, it was our mistake and we immediately proceeded to change to your initial starting point. Regarding the Time on the Bus, All Passengers Want to be Picked up at their hotels, that takes a little time, However, your hotel was very far away and we still decided to offer the round trip service to your hotel that is outside the city and most of the clients are from the city of San José. We try to improve with each comment. Thank you for letting us know your opinion.

This tour was incredible! Our guide kept the experience educational but also relaxing, and when he saw we were getting antsy amid the return traffic coming back to San Jose at the end of the day, he struck up conversation with us and distracted us with restaurant reccomendations (which were lovely) and other Costa Rica advice. We got to see so many wild animals on this tour which I loved, and the beach was STUNNING (with great drinks), but be prepared to pay for the bathroom on the beach and wear lots of sunscreen on both the beach AND the boat so you don't get burned the last 20 minutes you're outside like I did! Also, heads up that the boat ride was quite fast. I never got seasick but still felt a little woozy after our return ride due to some big waves. Prepare ahead with dramamine if you have a sensitive stomach! Overall totally loved it and would highly reccomend.

Such a great day! Percy was an awesome tour guide. He was very funny, personable and gave us the breakdown of the day in not only a funny way but also English and Spanish. He made everyone feel very comfortable. We stopped off at a local restaurant for a typical Costa Rican breakfast that had souvenirs and cigars too. We then headed to Isla Tortuga where we saw some dolphins and then went snorkeling. After snorkeling we spent the next 4 hours swimming in the ocean, drinking coco locos, pina coladas while smoking the cigars. There was also a hike we took for a small fee that went around the island and had some amazing views. This is a great tour for the price and you don’t have to worry about your own transportation or searching for a restaurant. Thank you very much Percy!!

The island is beautiful. It was a great family day out. We saw lots of birds and fish. The boat and crew on board provided us with excellent service. There was an early start at 4am and then we spent another 1hr going round hotels collecting more people 70 people in total 140 on two coaches. There was optional activities snorkelling and a banana boat ride. Breakfast was given on the coach a ham and cheese roll, an apple, apple juice carton and a small packet of biscuits. Lunch on the island was chicken and fish, rice, salad, and plantain. A glass of wine or soft drink. They gave you 1 lunch token and 3 for soft drinks. However about half an hour before we went to leave drinks were no longer available as they had been moved back to the boat so I had to wait. You could have as many soft drinks on board as you wanted. The crew came round with fruit and banana cake also. They is a gift shop on the island. There was plenty of sunbeds. There was plenty of shade under trees, however if you wanted a parasol or alcoholic drink you have to pay extra. It was very hot there . A lovely day.

Great trip out to Isla Tortuga for snorkeling, hiking, and drinking coconuts! Very well organized tour considering its an all day excursion. They picked me up on time as agreed at 5AM from my hotel Gran Hotel Hilton in Downtown San Jose. The bus was a full size tour bus and we had a full load of other tourists from various countries. We rode the bus to a breakfast spot which was like a cafeteria. Good local food. Then we drove to Puntarenas and got on the boat for the half hour ride to the island. The guide Diana narrated the tour and described the different islands we were passing such as India Dormida or sleeping native lady which looks like a lady laying down on the ocean. We got to Isla Tortuga and the first half of the group went snorkeling while the second half got settled in on the beach. The island is very tropical and hot so its a good idea to rent a chair and umbrella and grab a fresh coconut to drink. You can also get a coco loco with rum in the coconut water but I did that after all the activities were done. Snorkeling around a small island off the beach was great with countless fish species to look at. Currents are moving but not dangerous. We had lunch around noon and the fish was good. I paid the gift shop to be able to hike to the summit of the island and took my camelback with plenty of water. Some other people hiked it with just a water bottle and made it but it was hot. Its a tropical dry forest but there are surprisingly many flowering trees dropping flowers on the hiking trails. Great vistas from the top but take care near the broken wooden fence at the summit since its a 200 foot drop into the ocean if you slip. There are views of several sea caves and arches on the tail end of the trek back down which make for good photos. I came back to the beach and had a couple coco locos and hung out on the beach until the boat came to pick us up around 3PM. After going back on the boat, we stopped at a town called Caldera and had "Churchill" ice cream snow cones before making the long drive back to San Jose. Great trip and the other tourists on the trip were friendly and fun to talk to.

Loved the experience! Sad that we were not able to see dolphins but that's nature! Long drive, that's correct but very decent from my perspective, I was staying at La Sabana. First time snorkelling but the team had the patience to answer questions. The guide sometimes seemed lost in what we was supposed to tell us. The stop for the breakfast was way longer that agreed and the restaurant was full. We eat Casado for lunch and was very yummy! Best one I eat during my stay. I've read some other feedbacks regarding the time on the island, they all proceed, as pay for the toilet, drinks on the bar nearby, nature shadow so you don't have to pay extra and leisure activities. Just like to recommend to take an extra change of cloths since you can get wet during the boat trip and lots of suncream.

One of my favourite days in Costa Rica. The tour guide Diana spoke both Spanish and English smoothly. She did a fantastic job of explaining the history and meaning of the neighbouring islands as well as little tidbits about wildlife that inhabit them. She was very caring and attentive to the different needs of the tour group. Tortuga island itself was absolutely stunning , with a lot of different activities to help soak up the day. Quite possibly the warmest ocean water that I’ve ever been in. Next time I’m in Costa Rica , I will definitely take this tour again.

Everything was as stated and went smoothly. The transportation (both bus and boat) was great; the driver was safe and managed the roads well. The guide was funny, informative, and kept us all safe and aware of things. Good snorkeling, and we even managed to catch some whale-tails on our way back! The only downside for us as vegetarians was the lack of a lunch option (our lunch was just the normal lunch but without meat -- rice, salad, potatoes, and fruit), even though we communicated in advance. That's really the only room for improvement we can think of.

This was a gorgeous beach experience. When I looked at the itinerary, I expected more time on the other stops but in reality, they were really just pit stops (except for breakfast- that was more leisurely). Watching the sun rise over the mountains on the drive was unforgettable. The beach time was great. The snorkeling happened pretty late in the day. It wasn’t the best snorkeling but it’s still worth it if you like to see interesting fish. Lots of sea urchins around, so definitely don’t touch anything! The bar on the island takes card and cash.
