Our guide, David, made the tour as he was extremely knowledgeable, outgoing, and accommodating. The river was calm and therefore did not require a lot of concentration, affording us the opportunity to take in all the sites and sounds. Highly recommend this your. Ask for Dave.

We were picked up from or hotel on Playa Samara at one in the afternoon (high tide), where we met our guide, Allan. There were seven of us on the tour, a mixture of tourists from around the world. This was not our first tour with this company, and as always, they did not disappoint. We saw a variety of birds, including hawks and blue herons as well as a monkey troop playing near the riverside. Our guide was very knowledgeable and full of stories of the river and its inhabitants. The river is very gentle and easy to navigate, for even the most inexperienced kayaker. I highly recommend this tour to anybody interested in learning a little bit about the trees and wildlife that live on the Rio Ora, or even for people who just want a wonderful day out in a unique environment.

Ricardo, our guide, picked us up at our hotel right on time and was extremely friendly and energetic. On the 30 min drive to the Ora River, he explained many things about the countryside and the drive went quickly. On the river, he was superb, spoting beautiful birds with great explanations about them. The trip is timed with departure when the tide is just starting to come in on the river, and near high tide for the return trip, so paddling is very easy. The turn around point is a beach where you take a short break for water, fruit, watching Scarlet Macaws and taking in the beauty of beach and ocean. We loved this trip and Ricardo was awesome!

Our guide, Ricardo, was punctual and friendly and you can tell he enjoys his job. It was about a 35 minute drive to the river, and on the way Ricardo spotted some howler monkeys and stopped to let us get out and get a closer look.

We arrived at the launch point just as the tide was starting to come in. The paddle out to the ocean was for the most part a gentle drift along the edges of the river, with Ricardo pointing out wildlife along the banks and sharing interesting facts about the local trees and plants. We saw lots of different birds, including some miniature toucans, small parrots, lots of different egrets and herons, and even an osprey. We also saw some more monkeys, and an iguana having a late afternoon nap on a tree over the water.

When we arrived at the beach at the mouth of the river we got out to stretch our legs for a few minutes, and Ricardo sliced up a delicious pineapple to share.

The paddle back up the river was fast and focused, as we were trying to make it before the tide changed against our favor. It was fun and a bit challenging, but not exhausting. We started to feel a gentle drizzle which fairly quickly turned into full-on rain; rather out of the ordinary for this time of the year. The rain wasn't cold at all, and seeing the raindrops falling across the flat surface of the river was beautiful.

All in all the trip took just under four hours, and we spent nearly three of them on the water. It was a great experience; definitely worth the money. I would recommend it for sure.

It's a fun tour, about two hours on the river watching all sorts of animals and a short walk to a waterfall where you can go for a swim. Would do it again!
