Without an off-road tour of the Tamarindo area, you’d miss the Guanacaste coast’s secluded beaches, mountain passes, and stunning tropical scenery. This rugged 2-hour circuit takes you beneath coastal trees, through the rain forest, and down the back roads of the Costa Rica Gold Coast with the benefit of a guide to provide information and teach you how to use an ATV, making this a great tour for beginners.
What to Expect
This Tamarindo off-road ATV tour begins when you meet your guide at your select hotel or other central location in the Tamarindo area. Once there, board an open-air off-road vehicle and take off with your guide down a road not accessible with regular 4WD vehicles.

Pass over rivers and along secluded shorelines while your guide points out wildlife and plants along the way, including the rare Guanacaste trees that are home to monkeys and birds. Next, head to Pirates Bay Beach, where you can swim in the calm water or lounge on the sand admiring the scenery.

Lastly, visit a private farm before concluding your tour at your original departure point.

Great first tour

We had a blast on the ATV tour and got to see many beautiful beaches! Carlos was great and showed us how to drive the ATVs which was very easy to do! My teenage boys loved the ATVs!

Had a great time! Our guide, Carlos, was super friendly and fun to hang out with. He took us through a lot of the dry forest where we saw a troop of maybe 20 howler monkeys. We also stopped at three beautiful, secluded white sand...More

Amazing ATV tour

I had emailed Pininos Adventure about ATVs on Wednesday night and they quickly responded and were able to accommodate us on Friday at 9am. We wanted a private ATV ride where we could ride, not just crawl on some trail. Communication was excellent with Carlos...More

As far as I know I don’t think so. When we were there it was only ATVs and no bigger vehicles, and I’m pretty sure it’s only one person per atv
