      Perfect (MUST DO) Day!
Incredible day! Tubing, ziplining, hot springs and chose waterfall (over horseback riding)... all amazing! Key for us was to get private driver as we were able to move from event to the next without having to wait on entire buses. Kenneth, our driver was absolutely incredible and really helped make our day perfect!!

      A Taste of Costa Rica
This was a fantastic tour. My husband and I and our kids (ages 16 and 18) had a blast. The hike to Rio Celeste was well worth it…what a spectacular view. Swimming in the Llanos de Cortes waterfall was so refreshing. The tour in the jungle was very cool as well as we were able to see sloths, snakes, lizards, frogs etc. Our tour guide, Kevin Piña was very informative and did an excellent job in explaining everything. He made the trip very enjoyable. Gustavo, our driver, was great too. He was a great driver!

      Amazing whole day excursion!
This was an amazing and fun excursion! Our tour guide Kevin and driver Gustavo were so friendly and kind and very thorough in explaining what to expect out of our day. The hikes and waterfalls were beautiful. We saw sloth and other wildlife at the Sloth sanctuary and our guide Jostin was fun and knowledgeable at guiding us around.

Guachipelin Adventure Volcano Zipline, Horseback River Tubing Combo
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 I had the most amazing experience on this tour! The key to this tour is the multiple changes of clothes to bring! Your first outfit is your swimsuit and water shoes. Your tour starts off with an amazing tubing ride down the river. You will get wet during this activity. This activity will benefit from bringing a waterproof camera or dry bag for your phone. During the tubing adventure, the photographers are positioned on the course. If you want to have the best shot of finding your pictures, it would be best to be in the front of the pack while tubing. For the tubing photos, at the end of the tour, if you buy the package you get everyone and need to filter out the ones that just have you. Once the tubing is complete, you will head back to the registration area where they have full-service restrooms and a place to change into your next outfit. Your next outfit should be suitable for zip lining and lunch. For zip lining I recommend cargo pants and a short sleeve shirt. You will also need closed toe shoes with laces, I.e. sneakers or something equivalent. You can’t do zip lining in open toe shoes. Prior to the zip line experience you are treated to a great buffet lunch at the dining area. Your tour guide will identify the table to sit at. You will be called upon when it is your turn to enter the line for the food. Once lunch completes get ready for an amazing zip line experience! It is an amazing engineering marvel. This team has engineered zip lines and platforms that are attached to the rock walls in the canyon! The staff is super nice and safety conscious. Listening to the staff will allow you to have a safe and amazing time! Similar to tubing, the photographers will take your photo. This zip line can move fast so be on the lookout for them on the platform you are headed towards. On previous zip lines I found I could hold my sports type camera in one hand and the harness in the other. This zip line required two hands on the harness and leaning back more when in motion. While the camera can get some quick shots when you land on a platform, the guides are moving the guests quickly from one zip line to the other and there is little time to pose. After the zip line you return to the registration area to drop off your harness. The drop off area has a gratuity box. Take a moment to reflect on the safety and fun you just had and make sure you leave something for the staff. This team just got your down the river, then got you through a zip line in a safe format. It is worth it to leave something for their great service! Once the zip line is complete you will head off for horseback riding. The zip line outfit you are wearing will be sufficient for horseback riding. The final activity you will visit is a hot spring. For this activity you will want another change of clothes that can get wet and a change of clothes after you come out of the hot spring. The hot spring is approximately a 10 minute walk from the parking lot. Once you arrive at the hot spring you will find various degrees to enjoy. You will want to change out of your wet clothes into dry clothes for the ride home. In summary, you will need the following clothes: 1. Clothes to ride on the shuttle bus that keep you comfortable in air conditioning 2. Swimsuit or equivalent that you can go tubing in 3. A dry set of clothes for lunch, ziplining and horseback riding 4. A new swimsuit for the hotsprint 5. A new dry set of clothes for the shuttle bus ride home This tour has many highlights but one of the standouts is the lunch! Prior to the zip lining you are served a delicious lunch with several local favorites! This tour takes place at the Guachipelin Hotel with a great restaurant. If you heeded the advice from this article, you will be sitting in dry clothes for lunch! If not, you are sitting in your wet swimsuit. Although the tubing, zip line and horseback riding team got you through a fun day, don’t forget a gratuity for you van driver and tour guide that got you from your hotel to the activity and back!

      Zip lining and river tubing!
My friend and I had an amazing day on this tour. It started for us with zip lining (though it seems based on arrival time, they may switch people around). The zip lining eased us in by starting us through a canopy of trees and ended by sending us over several parts of the river inside a gorge. There is an optional rappel and rock climbing activity (it's short), but a non-optional tarzan swing over the gorge. As a person who is slightly afraid of heights, I felt safe the whole time and very much enjoyed it even though part of it was a bit scary. There are safety tethers and the guides do a great job moving you along and ensuring you're tethered to a safety cable at all times. The guides were fantastic and friendly. From there we returned to the main area to get on the horses to ride out to do the river tubing. The horses are kept in a corral and when the gauchos got us on the horses, they were ready to go. The actual trail is rocky and slightly hilly in places. Some of the horses are a bit head strong and didn't like some of the other horses and also didn't like the slow pace. This was our least favorite activity of the day and we were glad for the ride to be over. I think for the entire group we were with, people had mixed feelings about this activity. We got picked up by a bus for a quick ride to the river. We were given life jackets and helmets (helmets for everything and they are good to have). We walked down a bunch of stairs to the river and picked up our tubes and got in. WATER SHOES (or some type of shoe) ARE NEEDED AND REQUIRED. The river was 5km long and the guides were stationed throughout to help us over some of the larger rocks and rapids. This is NOT a lazy river, this is river tubing through rapids with a few slow places thrown in. Our group had the best time and this is possibly the favorite activity of the day. I did get dumped out of the tube at one point and lost a water shoe in the rapids and it was gone for good. It wasn't a big deal for me, it was still the best experience. The guides for this activity were also very attentive and playful. After the river tubing a bus drove us back to the main building again where there was a buffet lunch awaiting us. It was the BEST meal of rice, beans, fish, beef, potatoes, plantains, and various salads and sweets. We were served water and fresh watermelon juice as well. From lunch we went and purchased our pictures ($50 for two of us) and then got back in our tour van to go to the hot springs. It wasn't a long drive to the hot springs but there's a walk from the parking area, with bathrooms and changing rooms along the way. We tried out several of the thermal pools and the mud bath. The mud will definitely turn you and your things orange, so be careful what it touches (I threw away my apple watch band). After that we drove back to the city for hotel drop-offs. We were staying at Planet Hollywood, so we had to pay an extra $50 for pick-up and drop-off, and that driver met the main tour bus in the city. Photos: there are people stationed throughout taking pictures and for us they were worth buying because unless you had your phone strapped around your neck in a waterproof bag, it was almost impossible to take photos throughout the activity. Tips: the guides at the park have tip boxes in various places and they definitely deserve tips. They do a fantastic job. The tour guide and driver for the day also should be tipped. Be sure you go prepared with various bills (USD is more than ok). Notes: 1) There are plenty of bathrooms at the beginning and end of each activity, and opportunities to change if needed. 2) If you aren't able to do a lot of stairs (both up and down) this is probably not the best activity for you. 3) I would recommend wearing long shorts or long pants for the zip lining (because of the harness) and horseback riding. 4) Definitely take sunscreen and bug spray will be nice if you have it.

      Cruising on a catamaran
Such a fun sail, not even the rain could spoil. The guys were very helpful, well organized and entertaining. The cooler of Blue Dolphin Cocktails were enjoyed all round. A spot of fishing, dancing, eating and swimming. Thanks to the crew for a lovely sail and sunset cruise. Would definitely recommend.

      Spectacular Views
Beautiful waterfalls, Llanos de Cortes was so refreshing to swim in ,and feel the power of the waterfall up close. The Rio Celeste hike has easy terrain, however, be prepared for the 250 steps down to the waterfall viewing platform, and the climb back up all 250. Bring water for sure, tennis shoes would be fine, it was dry ground for us. Again very pretty, we saw a tiny snake along the way, our guide pointed out. We was a sloth in a tree on the way there and our guide stopped and let us take pictures, this was a better up close view of the sloth than the sloth sanctuary, but the at the sanctuary the guide has a telescope to view them up in the treetops. Highly recommend, wonderful lunch as well.

      Highly recommend!
Highly recommend this excursion & this company! The trip was fantastic and our guide, Luis, was great!! When he wasn’t guiding us through the rapids, he was teaching us about Costa Rica and the many beautiful things the country has to offer. The food was top notch. This company is so well organized. They even take multiple pictures of you throughout your rafting trip so that you don’t have to worry about bringing a camera! 100% must do when in Costa Rica.

      Family fun. Full long day.
We were picked up at Riu hotel by Daphne and Johnny. Both were super awesome. Daphne was very friendly and informative so we were happy to have them as our transportation and guides. She was on top of everything and made sure we were in right spots at all times. Johnny was an excellent driver. Smooth on the clutch which is a bonus. No one wants to get car sick from a bad driver. We were picked up 645am and we picked up two other groups along the way. We made a short stop at a mart to pick up breakfast / drinks / coffee (not included). We then arrived at the adventure place around 9 AM. It was a long start to the morning. Then we were handed off to the adventure groups where we did the zip lining first then horseback riding then the rafting. Took a lunch break. Then did the hot springs. The groups that ran you through all of the activities moved you along pretty quick. Little too quick maybe. Definitely felt rushed but also we were worried because our zip lining group had about 20 people. we didn’t have much after the first platform though and got through it quick. The horseback riding was a little unadventurous , but was fun. The rafting was a lot of fun and the guides on this tour were really good getting us through all of the rapids. The food was way better than expected. It was a buffet style at a small restaurant. We had about one hour at the Hot Springs and again here Daphne shined. Knew everything about them and how to do it proper. we got back to our hotel around 6 PM so it’s a pretty long full day excursion. For the price and activities it was worth it.

      Very Good Choice
So first of all our main guide was Nicole and main driver was Frank. They both were EXCELLENT ! The reason I wrote them as "main" driver & guide is well as with most foreign country tours there always seems to be some "herding" going on. These guys did pick us up in a 15 passenger bus as promised but then they took us to a central meeting point about 1/2 way to the NP we were going to (Rincon de Vieja NP). These folks were extremely efficient and where we made the switch from one van to the other happened with precision clock work (unlike others we have experienced). So enough with that bs, all good ! So our 1st leg was a 2 hr hike around the volcano where you see and smell the Sulphur vents. Very interesting and a very good hike (maybe 2.5 miles & approx 500' of elevation). 2nd stop is another shorter hike of maybe 1/2 mi each way where you get to cool off in a nice natural pool under a waterfall. Then they take you to a very yummy buffet style lunch. Then the 3rd leg (last) is another maybe 1/2 - 3/4 mi each way hike to an area that has about 8 different natural hot springs pools rang I ng from about 95 to 112 F. All inclusive and around a 9-9.5 hr tour. Same thing on the way back where the switch to original van, driver and guide may have taken 10 mins. Highly recommend these folks. The know what they are doing !

Rio Celeste Hiking, Sloth Sanctuary & Lianos De Cortes Waterfall Tour
If you are staying at Planet Hollywood in Costa Rica, the best way to explore the area will be through an excursion. One of the sights to see in the region is the National Park called the Rio Celeste. Instead of figuring out how to get to the park, take advantage of the Viator tour offerings. Booking the tour through Viator will give you the one stop shopping for your transportation and local tour guide. The day starts at approximately 7:15am when you are picked up at Planet Hollywood. You are transported approximately 30 minutes away to a local shopping center where you will board the shuttle for the day. On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, I was lucky enough to be on the tour with Nicole and her wonderful driver. The shuttle bus was comfortable with individual seats inside. Nicole provided a wealth of information about the region. She handled all the logistics for the park entrance and led the group up the trail to the waterfalls. The first stop is a smaller waterfall. You can get in the water here, but it is only briefly. I would not recommend getting in the water and focus just on pictures. If you are getting in the water, bring a change of clothes and towels. The park has a full service rest room. The next waterfall stop is a lengthy hike on a mostly paved and some un-even terrain, but to fully see the waterfall you will go down 253 steps and then back UP 253 steps! Along the way Nicole pointed out various creatures and was an amazing wealth of knowledge. The tour also included a stop for lunch at a great local establishment. The food was fantastic, and it was great to sit outside and enjoy the area. The team at the Sloth sanctuary was also amazing! Their local guides are professionals when it comes to finding Sloths in the trees along with the Toucans. The guides also have great telescopes to help enhance the viewing experience. Upon completion of the three sites, you will be dropped off at a nice souvenir location for a chance to pick up some gifts. If you are at Planet Hollywood your driver will meet you here for the transfer back to Planet Hollywood. As always, with a great tour like this, don’t forget to offer a gratuity at the end to thank the team for their amazing service!

Great wildlife lesson on the Tamarindo Estuary Tour
Really enjoyed the tour! It is a very quiet, peaceful tour with our knowledgeable guide who gently motored our boat so as not to disturb the wildlife or scare away crocs. The mangroves are a fascinating tree and he explained its unique characteristics. The group was on the lookout for various birds, crocodiles (hard to see but definitely there), the howler monkeys and active iguanas. The monkeys were sleeping high up in the inland trees except for one active little guy, which made for a fun video memory. All in all, it was a nice, leisurely Costa Rica wildlife lesson. You'll get your feet wet getting in and out and out of the boat, and also have the option to walk through some of the estuary to see more wildlife, floral, fauna and monkeys. The bottled water and fresh pineapple hit the spot! Tips were appreciated (and not included in the fee but also not mentioned in the what to bring section).

LONG day but an awesome experience. Unfortunately the volcano was closed but we stopped at an impressive viewpoint over the Pacific instead. Our guide David was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended tour!

Excellent experience. Our guide, Noel, was knowledgeable, kind and funny. This was also a fantastic reprieve from the heat as we spent a great deal of time in refreshing, clear, clean waters near the falls.

Dillon was such a wonderful guide . The hike was gorgeous and we learned about the trees and Costa Rican culture as we chatted on the way to the unbelievably gorgeous water fall . Dillon took photos and was very personable. My husband somehow forgot his shoes and our guide gave him his to use . So kind . Lunch was very tasty with a sweet pineapple fruit drink . If you’re thinking of going, do it ! You won’t regret it!

I wanted to give 5 stars because our tour guide was great! My hiking partner needed help and he was there every step of the way. She ended up cutting her leg very badly and he tied it off with a rag to quit the bleeding and called down to base camp to get a first aid kit. I will say this hike is pretty advanced, especially in some parts. Once she got scraped up, we were taken the “easier” way. One thing being an issue was that we were told most people wear water shoes. Tennis shoes/hiking shoes are definitely better for this trek, especially for traction. Water shoes were definitely more slippery. There are parts where you must climb ladders. Even some repelling/rock climbing with ropes, which we didn’t even do. Hiking partner would not have been able to succeed at this. Waterfall is nestled in cave that you must rope yourself to due to the rushing of water from the falls. It was a very pretty hike though and the staff was great!!!!

Jason was our guide and he did such a great job. It was the best hike of my life with so many beautiful views. Jason kept us safe, was fun and he was very informative. The lunch prepared for us was delicious. If we come back to Costa Rica, we all agree we would do this again.

This was our second tour with Native’s Way and we loved both. This was our favourite tour for sure. Diego was an AMAZING a guide. When on the tour, we saw lots of animals. He stopped at each one and provided lots of info. He took his time and was never rushed. He was great with the kids and overal made our day amazing.

This was a genuinely fun hike- challenging, with lots to see/experience. We did a bit of cliff jumping, swam through some rough currents, climbed, and lots of other fun things. We were in the shade the whole time and the waterfall was gorgeous! Our guide pointed out interesting plants, wildlife, and facts along the way. Lunch was also great! Overall a great day!

This is truly a must do excursion. An unforgettable experience. Magdalena checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed for our journey. Enoc has to be the best tour guide we’ve ever come across. It wouldn’t have been the same without him. If you’re interested in this excursion please request Enoc, you will not be disappointed. The hike is beautiful all the way to the tremendous waterfall. Truly an adventure.

This tour is well worth the money! The tour begins at a local farm in liberia , there is a jump spot at the beginning of the hike to cool down before you begin the journey.Along the way you’re able to see local wildlife: howler monkeys , bats, spiders, birds, etc. Bring shoes you don’t mind getting wet as you will be crossing multiple streams of water to get to your destination at La leona falls.
