Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio Beach offers a contrast of green-white-blue, in simple words, where the forest meets the beach and the ocean. Ideal for swimming with family or group members of advanced age or with children. There are showers to rinse off and bathrooms available for your use.

          Excellent
The tour was amazing, we went with Frank and he was very knowledgeable and helpful! We saw (and heard) many types of frogs and even saw a fer de kance snake. An the very end of the tour we saw a red-eyed frog and a sloth! Absolutely best!

          Gorgeous birding adventure
This was an extraordinary adventure and I definitely recommend! At first I was a little surprised at the price (tho most birding trips in the area are priced this high) but it was worth it, we’ll never forget it. I booked the trip the day before and someone from the tour company called and asked what we wanted to see. We gave him our list, and the next day, the wonderful guide and driver went out of their way to drive to different areas to seek out what we were looking for - macaws, toucans, parrots, etc., and we saw it all! The guide was so knowledgeable. Once out of the car, the walk was gorgeous. The traditional Costa Rican breakfast was delicious! Def recommend! I did feel bad I didn’t have a tip for the woman who made us breakfast, I was saving it for the guide.

          Worth the early start!
It’s true that you have to get up early in the morning for this tour. Birds have their own timeline! This was an amazing tour, our guide was so knowledgeable, he had 20 years in the business and had swivel eyes. He could see and spot birds in an instant. He also uses a spotting scope and was the fastest at setting it up so that even the non-birder Could see and appreciate. Wonderful local breakfast in a home that was cozy and felt like you were in someone’s kitchen. So much fun, so informative, and so many birds! Our guide was so enthusiastic, we felt like we were all drawn along by his enthusiasm and knowledge. Highly recommend

          Great tour
Manuel took us on a night tour and showed us snakes, insects, frogs, frog eggs, and more. We had two rainouts and he was so kind and flexible to make it happen our final night in town. It’s always a pleasure to spend time with someone like him who genuinely loves nature and has such infectious enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge.

Best night hike ever - request Dylan!
This was our favorite tour! Dylan was fantastic - knowledgeable and passionate about all of Costa Rica’s wildlife but especially the frogs and snakes. He worked with us to find as many of the frogs as possible and helped take gorgeous photos. If you do one tour- do this one and ask for Dylan!

          Amazing night walk
My partner and I had the most amazing night time herpetology tour with our guide Dylan. We saw several snakes, including fer-de-lance, geckos, spiders, and frogs. Dylan is super knowledgeable, helped us take great quality videos, and also was just a blast to hang out with! One of the best experiences we had in Costa Rica.

Unique experience at this beautiful rainforest reserve
We were recommended this tour by somebody else, and were very happy we went. The team was very accommodating and tailored our private tour to our needs. We enjoyed watching a very large number of amazing birds at Esquipulas in the morning, it was absolutely packed with beautiful birds like aracari, toucans, various tanagers, hummingbirds and dozens of others. We then saw some magnificent king vultures and also walked further in the forest with our guide to see and hear dozens more interesting birds, one of the most fascinating being red-capped manakin. On our way back we even had a bit of a bonus: seeing a common potoo! We really enjoyed Esquipulas and would definitely recommend it for nature lovers travelling to Costa Rica.

          Horrible customer service
About an hour prior to the beginning of the tour it was pouring rain. We inquired about cancelation due to weather and concern of the conditions of mud and water saturation. They were extremely rude and first stated that we would only be entitled to 1/2 of refund. We had someone in our party that had had back surgery and were worried about the slippery conditions with the rain. They acted like it would be normal to continue the tour in the pouring rain. Another half an hour went by and they then decided to cancel the tour due to rain. Very bad customer service and seemed more concerned with the loss of income vs safety of the guests.

Great if you are a fully fledged twitcher
Our guide was really knowledgeable. Unfortunately we were not. I don't think he really understand the needs of beginners. We spent a lot of time getting to the reserve and were very hungry. Apart from eating there we did not explore the reserve. Disappointing as this trip could have been so much better.

          Urban Safari
What an amazing tour guide Manuel is!!! He’s very knowledgeable and every guide out there seems to know him. All this knowledge helps out immensely in an urban safari type. I would highly recommend this tour.

Kevin was our guide and he did a great job. We saw multiple snakes, tons of frogs, huge spiders, and animals crawling through the trees. Amazing what you can see at night!

          Amazing Bioethical Birding Tour
Amazing birdwatching tour. Manuel knows a lot about the wildlife and has an amazing respect for bioethics. We saw a lot of birds that I have never seen in my life, including a Potoo that Manuel showed us on the way to the tour (only because I asked him if we could find one). I would recommend Manuel to anyone who wants a unique nature-filled experience because of his dedication to the craft of guiding, as well as his ability to inspire future generations of nature guides (aka his son who I was so lucky to meet).

          Amazing trip to Corcovado!
Fantastic experience! Had a full day adventure from Manuel Antonio including a 2 hour boat ride through mangroves and then to the ocean to get to Sirena Station in Corcovado. Our guide Dylan was excellent and helped us find tons of wildlife (tapirs, anteaters, peccaries, coatis, monkeys, sloths, toucans, etc. found puma prints but sadly the puma eluded us). Wish we had more time in the park, it’s an incredible place that felt so alive with wildlife! The last trail we took was so beautiful but we had to rush back to catch the boat. We enjoyed our trip so much we booked a Manuel Antonio night tour the next evening with Dylan which was equally great- found even more wildlife (I really wanted to see a kinkajou and he found us 4!) He is very passionate about his job and also takes excellent photos and videos! 10/10

          Great educational night hike
Great time!! Our guide was amazing at educating us on everything we saw. He was even able to answer any plant questions we had. I don’t know how he was able to spot all these little creatures. His spotting scope allowed an up close view. Great time! Highly recommend!

Manuel was so awesome and so knowledgeable. It was amazing how we would be walking around and he would just stop and set up his lens and you would see the tiniest grasshopper. He was very accommodating with special needs. He was amazing and if you ever come here you should hire him as your guide and you will be more than impressed! It’s not just about seeing the animals, and we saw a lot, it’s about all he has to tell you about them and the plants and the area. Again amazing! Thank you Manuel!

My family and I toured Manuel Antonio Park with Manuel, and it was a great experience. Initially, we had planned to visit the park by ourselves, but I am so happy we decided to hire Manuel instead. He is super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and shared a ton of interesting facts about the animals we saw, which we would have never spotted without his help. It was great to see the animals through the scope, and Manuel took fantastic photos of them. (He showed us his photo collection and it looks like something from National Geographic.) You can tell that he is very passionate about nature and has been spending a lot of time studying and researching the field. it I highly recommend Manuel as a naturalistic guide to anyone who would like a fun and informative tour of Manuel Antonio.

We actually ended up with "Mop" instead of Manuel. He is a veteran guide of 20 years! He was absolutely amazing! He would walk around nonchalant giving us all this great information and then plop the monocular down and BAM! A tiny multicolored microscopic cricket impossible to see with the naked eye but he somehow found it. At first I thought it was fake. I thought the viewfinder had slides in it because each time he would stop and show us something it would be so picturesque and I wouldn't be able to spot it. (he laughed at that when I told him) Then I was able to see some of the monkeys with my eye to disprove my theory. Mop is also amazing because he really cares about preserving this natural wonder. He was adamant about people not touching the monkeys or giving proper space to allow the animals to live while we enjoyed our tour. He wanted us to experience this amazing place but made sure we had respect for it. I really respect that.

Me and my friends decided that we wanna see some animals in costa rica. We have visited manuel antonio national park. You can enter it with or without guide. One od the best decision we have made is that we took the guide with the name Manuel :)

Without him we wouldn’t see half the animals that we did. With his more than 20 years experience and knowledge about animals we got deep insight of their behaviour. He even used mobile phone to play the bird’s sounds and he made them come closer. Anyway, if we would made decision and go on a tour without him, we would probably regret it. Definitely would recommend to contact him to get the full experience of animal word in costa rica.

(He also helps you get the most awesome pictures with phone and binocular, check one of them on my review)

I can’t even begin to express what an amazing day we had because of our tour at MA. Manuel, our guide knew all the tricks, was an amazing scout, handled parking, the park entry fee and put us with a really great small group of people. The park was beautiful but Manuel made it special. He taught us about everything, animals that lived there (AND he airdropped all photos), ecological initiatives, flora and fauna information that educated us beyond, and kept us away from the large crowds. It was so worth the money and we are not “tour” people. We are thankful for Manuel’s expertise and his great sense of humor! Thanks, Manuel!!!

We had an amazing tour through the breathtaking Manuel Antonio National Park with our knowledgable guide Mop. He took the time to give us lots of information about all the creatures we discovered and helped us to spot things that we would never have found without his help and powerful scope. I would highly recommend this guided tour and would also suggest going as early as possible before the heat and the crowds arrive. We got some great wildlife pictures and I am sure you will too!

My husband and I booked a semi private tour, but got lucky enough to be on our own! Manuel was amazing! He had tons of knowledge and was always personable, customer service oriented, and just great at what he does. Hiring him was such a good move. We spotted very little on our own so we would have been pretty disappointed trying to do this without him. We saw everything we’d hoped to see and then some. He was really great about helping us get some pictures on our phone’s camera (through his lenses) that surpassed my nicer camera. In summary, you will be very pleased you hired Manuel!

The ease with which I was able to organise a private tour even though we had already booked park tickets and were an hours drive from the park. Manuel was extremely helpful and found us a guide for the following day , Wilberth who met us at the place Manuel had agreed we meet. It went really smoothly and Wilberth negotiated us seamlessly through ,what can only be described as intense tourist mayhem. The volume of tourists actually made it unpleasant for us as we try to avoid such things but Wilberth guided us through, took his time wasn't harried by other sightings and generally found things others had not seen. He was an enthusiastic guide and we were more than glad we had made the effort to acquire a guide outside of the barter and bantering at the entrance.
        Thank-you Manuel and Wilberth.

I did two tours with Manuel: An early morning tour to see wildlife and birds in Manuel Antonio National Park and also a sunrise hike on private property in Punta Quepos. I booked a second tour immediately after our first tour because he was SO EXCELLENT! Not only did he initially contact me immediately, but he was respectful, spoke excellent English, organized transportation and was on time. He has a friendly demeanor and encouraged more questions and learning throughout. I’ve toured many countries and areas: I’ve never met another tour guide with as much genuine passion, wide range of knowledge and sincere customer service as Manuel. He’s just the right combination of intelligence, focus, humor and fun. If you’re looking for the best tours of your life... You’re in the absolute Right. Place. Manuel’s the Very Best!

We did this tour with Manuel himself yesterday. It was a great tour. He was talkative, informative and personable. He made sure we saw as many different types of wildlife as we could. He was great about setting up a scope for us to see smaller or more distant animals as well as we could. He also catalogued all the animals we saw and sent us a list with information about them, later after the tour. We would enjoy touring with him again and will be recommending him to friends who visit.
