Gaucho Day Trip from Buenos Aires: Santa Susana Ranch
From US$131.00
Low Price Guarantee
This gaucho day trip from Buenos Aires provides a close-up look at a traditional cowboy ranch, Estancia Santa Susana, less than two hours from Buenos Aires. On this tour, experience gaucho life and culture on a ranch tour, saddle up for a horseback ride, tuck into a hearty asado barbecue, and enjoy live entertainment, including folk music, tango, and a horsemanship display.
What to Expect

Your tour begins with pickup from your central Buenos Aires hotel and a transfer to Estancia Santa Susana by air-conditioned minivan.

The fiesta atmosphere starts when you arrive and are greeted with Argentine wine and homemade empanadas. Set out on a tour of the ranch and meet the gauchos, Argentina’s own version of the American cowboy. Depending on your preference, either enjoy a horseback ride or a horse-drawn carriage ride around the ranch.

After working up an appetite, tuck into a delicious barbecue lunch including a selection of meats and salads, accompanied by Malbec wine. Finish with sweet pastries and traditional yerba mate.

During the meal, enjoy a variety of live entertainment, including folk music and dancing, a tango demonstration, and a boleadoras show with weapon-throwing. Finally, the gauchos mount up for a spectacular horseback performance, showing off daring stunts, animal herding, and racing.

Your tour ends back in downtown Buenos Aires.

Just awful

After hours of waiting around on a well kept lawn we were taken for the meal. The meal consists on lots of tasteless meats. Then some cheesy singing. After all this for about 15 minutes some riders do some riding and repeatedly do the same...More

A really enjoyable day which was very well organised from the moment that Sarah, our tour guide, (who speaks 5 languages), picked us up at our hotel. The Gaucho staff were fantastic, and so very friendly and amusing. The shows after a enormous lunch with...More

Unsafe Horseback Ride; Good Meal; Poor Tango show

While some positive experience on this excursion, the horseback ride was unsafe with only one Gaucho or Cowboy saddling up and watching 30 beginner riders. The tack - saddle and bridles - were in poor condition and the beginner riders were not provided even basic...More

Dear Russ, Thank you for your visit at the Santa Susana Ranch. This excursion is mostly about discovering a typical Estancia of Argentina. The horseback ride you got at the end of the visit was more about a 10 minutes entertainment to see the ranch...More
