Overview
See the meandering canals, stilted houses, and lush islands of the Tigre Delta, a short drive north of Buenos Aires, on a guided tour. Choose from among a full-day or half-day itinerary with morning and afternoon departures and set sail on a scenic cruise around the delta. The full-day tour includes free time to explore the market town of Tigre.
What to Expect

Full-day tour

Meet your guide in central Buenos Aires and travel to Tigre by boat, sailing through Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve with views of Buenos Aires. Wind along the narrow canals of Tigre Delta, passing yacht clubs, uninhabited islands, and stilt houses.

In Tigre, transfer by bus to Puerto de Frutos port. After lunch (own expense), explore the markets, admire the views along Paseo Victoria, or visit a museum (own expense).

Return to Buenos Aires by train.

Half-day tour

The tour begins with a morning or afternoon pick-up (depending on your chosen departure time) from your Buenos Aires hotel. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned coach, drive along Rio de la Plata, stopping to visit the historic town of San Isidro.

Continue to Tigre and cruise around Tigre Delta. Admire the lush scenery and natural islands from your boat, and pass beautiful waterfront villas, stilt houses, and colorful floating markets.

Return to Buenos Aires by coach.

Do it Yourself!

I agree with idandb that it's worth going, but do it yourself. For variety, catch the Tren de la Costa from Estacion Maipu to San Isidro - get off and explore the Church, reboard next train and travel to end of line Tigre delta…then walk...More

Interesting but do it yourself

The only real point of this is the one hour boat trip around the delta, in which you get to see quite a lot of brown water and a range of quite interesting houses along the shore. So far, so unremarkable. What you should NOT...More
