About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 464cathrineb0 contributionsAmazing staff and exceptional valueI booked the ultimate experience for my daughter on her 21st birthday. The journey up to the park was going very badly with the drive going from just over 4 hours to an expected almost six whilst en route! In a panic we called the park to explain and they were amazing, reassuring us that we could still attend despite arriving well past the booked time. On arrival the greeting was warm and friendly, the keeper that accompanied us on the 3 chosen experiences was knowledge, friendly and helped make my daughters special day one to remember. Thank you all so much for providing such exceptional service and ensuring my daughter had a magical experience with animals she truly loves. The look on her face was worth the long journey there and back. Would recommend a visit to this very worthwhile park that provides much needed care for rescued exotic animals.Written October 1, 2024
- A5684BBsimonh0 contributionsSkunk Experience - Highly RecommendedThe Ark is a lovely little animal sanctuary sheltering rescue animals of all descriptions, run by caring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic keepers. We went for the skunk experience and were absolutely thrilled with it all. We were welcomed by their keeper who gave us an overview of the skunks, explained why they were there at the park (ex-pets...seriously, who decides to have a skunk as a pet?!) and prepared their food enrichment of mealworms in feeding devices that encouraged them to work for their food to ensure stimulation. The 3 skunks went about their feeding in a beautifully relaxed manner whilst we chatted with the keeper, and allowed us to interact with them, before taking one of them, Obi, for a walk around the park. We were encouraged to let him do his own thing, go wherever he felt he wanted to go and investigate whatever he wanted. He appeared 100% relaxed and unphased throughout with us. The care and attention they were shown by the keepers was heart-warming and we came away with the feeling that all these animals are now in a place where they can get the attention and rehabilitation they deserve. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Please do go and visit the park and help fund their amazing work for the welfare of these neglected animals.Written September 29, 2024
- ATopMK0 contributionsExcellent Skunk Encounter for Two...Me and my daughter loved the experience. The keeper was knowledgable and helped to get us up close to the skunks without feeling like we were disturbing them. We learned a lot about them and the misconceptions around them and we couldn't believe how soft and fluffy they are! All of the animals in the park seem well cared for and the place has a warm, family-run feel. It was quite shocking to realise how many exotic animals are being neglected in the UK and it's good to know places like this are helping to care for them. We had a great day and won't hesitate to come back again.Written September 25, 2024
- Z4447GCirenec0 contributionsExcellent for the zoo, disappointing caféWe have been many times, and it is a lovely animal sanctuary. Sometimes you do not see all the animals, but if you wait a little while they sometimes can be seen It is quite small zoo but the animals are well looked after, and appear to be happy and health. My only negative is that the café is very disappointing now, the quality of the food is disappointing, and is very expense for what you get. We have now started taking picnics, as the last meal we had was nearly £30 for cake and sandwiches,(for 2 people) with a cup of tea each. I realise the cost of living as gone up, but this seems very high, you don't even get a little salad with it unless you pay extra. But the zoo side of things I would defiantly recommendWritten September 19, 2024
- R6678MLjennyw0 contributionsThe day was a result of an animal experience bought as a present. My husband chose the silver fox encounterA small family run wildlife park well worth a visit. My husband and I had a silver fox experience, we got to feed them and also stroke one of them. The staff were friendly and knowledgable and the animals are all in excellent condition with lots of room to roam and keep to themselves if they want to. A lot are rescues who have been successfully rehabilitated. There is also a Jurasic Park with mechanised dinosaur figures and also a play park for smaller children We spent just over four hours there and would certainly visit againWritten September 18, 2024
- L5981AXrachelh0 contributionsLovely few hours with the animalsWhat a wonderful place. I did the meercat experience with my son and it was just the best! We havent stopped talking about it since. The staff were lovely, knowledgable and very helpful and clesrly care lots about tge animals.Written September 15, 2024
- Wander119735643400 contributionsArk Wildlife reviewI stumbled across this park online, as my son wanted to see animals. When we got to the place, I wasn’t sure whether we was in someone front garden/drive at first, but once I saw the cars parked I felt reassured. Once we got in, there was a dinosaur trail which I thought was a fun way to get the kids involved following a little toy at the end. My son loved every minute of it of being here, he loved seeing the meerkats, crocodiles and foxes. The park was full of fascinating creatures. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon. It was definitely worth the visit, my son left with a massive smile. Family friendly, especially for younger ones.Written August 24, 2024

- Rachel1985_130 contributionsGreat mini keeper experience. My son and I did the mini keeper experience and thoroughly enjoyed it. We got really close to the animals, got to stroke some and got so much information about them. Chloe was brilliant with my son and so informative. It was brilliant value too.Written August 11, 2024
- Ann B0 contributionsMeerkat experienceMeerkat encounter. Our visit exceeded expectations. 30 minutes of feeding and stroking a small group of delightful meerkats facilitated by Sam who was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Perfect job. - CLetitiaR0 contributionsOnce in a lifetime experience! What an amazing experience & a lovely day! We booked the ultimate encounter for my birthday & were able to get up close to & feed artic foxes, wild cats & red foxes! We even got to fuss the red foxes, which was a once in a lifetime experience! Our keeper was extremely knowledgeable & fantastic throughout the encounter. The park itself is a lovely place full of rescued animals and a great day out for anybody, and especially great for children. Would 100% recommend & will definitely be booking again for the future!Written August 5, 2024

- richardabedford360 contributionsThe Ark Rescue Zoo.My wife and I did the Meerkat encounter. It was a wonderful experience. We spent the rest of the day looking at the rest of the animals and had lunch in the restaurant. Over all we a great time, the food was good and the staff were lovely. Most of the animals have been rescued which makes supporting them very worthwhile. Would highly recommend a visit.Written August 5, 2024
- N9298LAsusanm0 contributionsA great experienceWe really enjoyed our time here, we were warmly welcomed at the front desk, where they explained what would happen. Luckily the weather held out for us as we walked around seeing all the animals, it was heartbreaking reading some of the stories of where the animals came from. After lunch we continued walking round until the allotted time we went with one of the keepers to collect mealworms, then were taken to the pen to meet the foxes, feeding them mealworms out of a bowl, and a few from the palms of our hands. It was an amazing thing to be allowed to do, both foxes we met are ex pets so have become accustomed to humans.Written July 25, 2024
- 608annamariej0 contributionsWhat an experience to meet the foxes and help ARK with funds for the rescued animalsWhat fantastic work staff do caring for the animals. Our guide was really is passionate and hard working looking after the animals and shows so much love and compassion to the animals she looks after. Also she was very knowledgeable about the animals in her care.i would recommend visiting here to help fund the work and up keep of the animals especially if it is in your local area. We will visit again as it was a wonderful experience being up close to the Dexter and Lana the foxes ❤️ 💙. Small menu but choice to cater for everyone and good quality food .Written July 19, 2024

Honestly the staff are just so rude I took my
Two children on a week day not even a hello or a smile they just took my money. Non of the keepers seem to be able to crack a smile. Went to buy some food from the cafe had to wait for the woman to finish her conversation and then proceed to clear plates before she served me bare in mind we were the only ones in there at that time. She then told me my daughter was upsetting their serval cat with all the noise she was making because she started crying. Animals are fun to look at but the staff are rude and very unwelcoming

We had a lovely afternoon wandering around here looking at the history of all the animals couldn't believe the turtles were found wandering down the High Street. Saw the lovely fox cubs would have loved to take one home so cute. Fell in love with the little marmoset that came up close to say hello. Loved watching the savannahs cat while we sat and had a coffee my son enjoyed collecting the stamps something to keep his interest as he gets bored easily

Really great find and will definitely return. Sad that so many of the animals are there because someone fancied an exotic pet then didn't know how to look after it, however, good that Ark knows how to. The whole site is well set out and clearly the care of the animals is paramount. We had a really good visit and enjoyed learning things we didn't know about some of the animals. Everyone there was really helpful and the keepers were really knowledgeable. We visit Lincolnshire regularly and will go there a gain. Good value and a nice little cafe too.

We came for the first time in August and had an amazing time. My youngest (aged 7) and her friend loved being able to play freely in the play areas and walk around the park to visit the animals. They especially enjoyed the pony, alpacas and the little goats!
The food was fab and we benefited from the eat out to help out scheme so it was ridiculously cheap.
We arrived around 10.30 and was one off the last families to leave. All in all a fab way to spend a day with children!

We last visited Ark in 2020 and what fantastic changes it has made! We love it when we go to places where the staff really care about the place and where money is put back into the business with such care. Lots of the animals are unusual and a real mixed bag as they are often rescues or animals seized from illegal trade/customs.
Since the last time we came they have introduced the Trash Panda indoor soft play area which our sensory ASD little boy absolutely loved, and another indoor play area with a large climbing frame and some fab ride on electric carts (which take contactless card) that go around a track. So, now, so even if the weather is a bit iffy then you have some lovely fun bits to do. Likewise there is shaded/covered areas in front of the cafe. Really liked the dinosaurs they have added in now too.
The tanuki will always be my fave!

We spent a really lovely morning here. The children loved it. All the animals are rescue animals and all of them seem very happy and healthy. There is a cafe serving snacks and light meals, this sanctuary is well worth a visit. The Meercats are adorable!

Had a wonderful trip with my two grandson's. They really enjoyed feeding the goats, seeing the foxes and the soft play area. The staff in the cafe were so helpful and went above board to make food for my dairy intolerant little one. Thank you The Ark we will be back

Doing a grand job rescuing animals even though many failed to put in an appearance. Too many signs so one just misses things. Sign for ball play digger stating contactless payment needs to be lower down near the digger. Lost £2 and couldn't get refund. Took ages to get attention at front desk. Same worker that was unsympathetic about digger totally ignored me at the desk. Not enough toilets and no toilet paper. Stone path at monkey pen is dangerous as stones too big. Gate to dinosaur area hard to open. Both situations not good for disabled. Horrible stink of burning fat when we sat in play area. Steering wheel came off of the play area 'tractor'. Having said all that the 2 girls aged 12 and 9 enjoyed themselves but I wouldn't take a 15 year old. It really is for young children.

Thanks for the feedback and glad you appreciate the hard work our staff and volunteers do. We wont reply to all the points raised as think they all stem from the digger issue. To explain again, there is a sign stating the digger is contactless and also a card machine. You had put the coins in a random hole in the mechanism, where there is no coin return, sign or anything. The reason I may not have been very sympathetic (although polite and explained) was because we now have to call an engineer out to check there is no damage and the coins havent got caught somewhere, which we could do without during a cost of living crisis. I am not really sure what more we could of done to make it clear it was contactless and has never happened before.
As for waiting, nobody ignored you at all, having reviewed the CCTV you were taking pictures in our fab dino egg before coming to the counter and shouting over other people waiting that unless someone came and served you right now you were going to walk out with a toy without paying, we werent given a chance to come and serve you. There is a big sign at reception saying to please go to the cafe if no one there as we use it when busy in the cafe. I am sorry if you felt you were ignored but everybody was busy serving the queue and there was a sign to direct customers. Anyway, hoping this clears things up and glad you reviewed so we could explain again about the digger. Thanks for supporting the sanctuary.

Today was the 1st time we had ever visited the park and we left wondering why it took us so long to come! My little boy absolutely loved it there and it helped with the staff being so friendly! One of the keepers took time to talk to us about the animals and we loved watching the lemurs eating their breakfast!
It is well laid out and the children areas are perfect. The food was perfect and they were so accommodating for my little boy who is dairy free (made his own special jam sandwich which he loved!)
Overall, we loved it and we will be telling all our friends and family to get down there. We will definitely be back again very soon! Thank you to everyone who works there!

I absolutely love meerkats and this wildlife farm have lots of them! I loved my experience and got to meet a family of meerkats that were super friendly. The keeper was very knowledgeable and made the experience a happy and comfortable one. Would highly recommend this place as it’s a lovely relaxed wildlife park that you can spend a whole day at.
