Overview
Cruising through La Jolla on a Segway is a quirky and fun way to explore this beachfront San Diego suburb. Zip past top La Jolla sights like a sea lion colony, downtown district, and the ocean itself outside the confines of a car—and with the added benefit of a guide to fill you in on La Jolla’s history. An uncomplicated route and comprehensive training make this easy even for first-time Segway users.
What to Expect
Begin your tour at an easy-to-find location in central La Jolla. Spend a few minutes getting acquainted with your Segway, and then begin to follow your guide on a scenic loop of La Jolla.

Cruise through seaside neighborhoods, the downtown district, and even on the sand right next to the Pacific Ocean as your guide tells you about La Jolla’s history and rise to one of the most affluent communities in San Diego. Traveling by Segway means you get to enjoy a sea breeze and unobstructed views throughout the tour—perfect for photos.

Because this is a small-group tour, you have plenty of opportunities to ask questions of your guide and make special requests as you go.

Tour concludes at original departure point.

Our tour guide, James, kept the tour very lighthearted and entertaining, and provided a ton of knowledge of the city and making plenty of jokes along the way. I had never done a Segway tour before, and this was a great introduction to it. Additionally,...More

If you use a cane for balance issues, I would say not. Also you step off the Segway to go sight see a few times on the tour. There’s really no where to store your can for use while on the Segway.
