About
This group adventure is the perfect way to sample canoe tripping, without camping overnight. There is challenging paddling (8-16km), tranquil drifting, portaging (600m), hiking (1.5km), cliff jumping (if you want), swimming, a scenic lookout, historic landmarks, wild edibles (in season), spectacular landscapes and wildlife observation (usually birds, butterflies, turtles & small mammals; periodic moose & larger mammals). Our canoes are all custom made 4 seaters, convenient for families and making new friends. These. lightweight kevlar boats are easy to carry (solo or tandem) over the short portage. Lunch is a fabulous sandwich from Henrietta's Pine Bakery. We also serve a granola bar snack. Participants must bring at least 2 litres of water per person. Our naturalist guides have only the highest levels of training and certification. They ensure a safe, educational and intimate connection to Algonquin Park. And, they take the photos we give you for free. Age 6+ is ok. No smoking.

Excellent Algonquin Canoe Trip
Sep. 2020
I had a memorable canoe trip with my girlfriend on her birthday. The staff was friendly and informative. The scenery was amazing and serene. We received excellent pictures for the day, and our guide Gavin even helped us paddle for 6 hours! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have some fun outdoors in the fresh air for the day.

Great day and beautiful scenery
Sep. 2020
We had a great day on the water and learned a lot about Algonquin Park, saw some great scenery and wildlife. Stuart was an excellent guide and we appreciated his passion for Algonquin, and the local knowledge that he shared with us. Be prepared to work hard on the Canoeing front but it's worth it to see some great spots we would not have found on our own. Food was great too. Thanks for a great day.

Great Afternoon Family Canoe Trip at Algonquin Park
Sep. 2020
I went on the 6-hour canoe trip with my wife and daughter in September. We had Stuart, the head guide, as our guide for the day and he was great. We aren't expert paddlers (but weren't complete beginners) and he had the good sense to give us some tips to help us paddle better without giving so many that we felt we were being nagged. Instead he spent the trip telling us about Algonquin Park and the wonderful foliage and wildlife on display (we saw loons up close on the lake, a racoon hunting on the shore, and saw beaver dams and the paths the beavers had made but not the elusive beavers). The park was beautiful with the leaves starting to change colour in the fall. This is a great trip if you are a beginner at canoeing or even if you're not if you don't have time for a multi-day camping trip. Thank you Stuart.

Great Introduction to Algonquin
Aug. 2020
This was a great introduction to the park's ecology and history. We are not very experienced at paddling, especially for long distances, but Stuart made things very accessible and easy. The highlight for me was at the end of the day when a pair of loons got very close to our canoe.

Would definitely recommend as a great way to experience Algonquin - especially if you're short on time or a beginner.

Can't Wait to Do it Again!!
Aug. 2020
My fiance and I did a 6 hour canoe tour on August 22nd 2020, and it was truly a memorable experience. The Algonquin Park is beautiful. We got there about 30 minutes early because I wanted to make sure that we found the place ok. get our park permit (you can purchase it in the building which is right on the same beach where you meet up with your guide, very convenient). We got lucky on this trip because there was only one other couple booked for that day and they cancelled at the last minute, so our group tour turned into a private tour. Isaiah our guide was great. Knowledgable, and friendly. I must say again that if you love the outdoors, the park is absolutely breathtaking. My only disappointment was not seeing any wildlife really on this trip. My fiance and our guide did catch a glimpse of a bald eagle but I missed it. If anything it only makes me anxious to go back. We told our friends and they all want to go, we would like to try the three day camping trip next time as well. I highly recommend Algonquin Park Adventure Tours, very professional and their staff is really knowledgeable about the park. Whether you're an avid outdoors person or just looking to try something new, this tour was worth every penny.

Perfect for First Timers
Jul. 2020 • Friends
This is the perfect experience for those who have never canoed before. My friend and I learned how to properly use the paddles and portage the canoe - we’re comfortable renting on our own now! The sandwiches provided for lunch are delicious and you’re able to do the activities at your own pace. Although it is ~5hrs of canoeing, you’ll have so much fun you won’t even realize you’re working out your arms. Shout out to Isaiah for being a great guide!
(excuse the gloomy pic, we chose a rainy day to go out)

Great experience of nature
Jul. 2020
This trip was a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Algonquin for the first time. Our guide was very pleasant and did a great job with teaching us canoe skills and telling about the history and nature of the area.
The views from the lake and the hiking lookout were gorgeous. We got to see and hear a few loons, but unfortunately did not see other wildlife.
Paddling for hours proved to be a challenging workout that left our arms/shoulders sore until the next day, but it was also fun and fulfilling. We also enjoyed a little swimming and cliff jumping. The lunch served was sizeable and delicious.

Great in spite of the thunderstorm
Aug. 2019
We are a family of four (two kids are 10 years old). The weather was unfortunately very bad (including a thunderstorm) but Glenn kept his composure and managed to make the best out of that day. He also found a good solution as the kids were not paddling anymore due to the weather. All in all it was a great day and we enjoyed terribly the nature, the lake and the few sunny spells. Absolutely recommendable!

Amazing experience! 6 hours is the perfect amount of time. No previous experience needed. Great guides!
recommended to bring a warm layer even in the summer because it tends to get windy.
