    Great value for the price
Enjoyable and informative. I would add some music in between the narration. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who likes to site see independently.

    17Mile drive
It was not easy to navigate. The map would not show on my car screen so I couldn’t tell where to go. The signs for 17Mile Dr are not clearly marked. The road signs are very small

    17-mile is amazing
It was beautiful and not busy. Easy access to the points/beaches that we stopped at. Very friendly people. This was our first time. There was so much to see.

    Easy and informative
The beautiful drive was even better with the narrative, which was it not too intrusive. I would gladly purchase another audio tour.

Good listening; map could be better
The audio tour was engaging and informative. It added a lot to the experience. It took a while to learn to navigate the (driving) navigation function. When we took the wrong turn (several times), the app didn't help us get back on track. It took a while to realize we could go back a few steps in the app. Did we miss "how to use the app" directions, or were there none? The first (or last, depending where you start the drive) few steps (near Carmel) were historic background. I was disappointed we couldn't see the water for a while. The water views were very pretty. Most, not all, of the scenery could be seen on the public roads (starting at the Monterey end). If you turned inland to leave, you would avoid paying an additional $11.75 to ride on the "17 Mile Drive" private road. You'd miss some scenery but would save some money.

Virtual Chat Tour Guide in the Car With Us!
The Action Tour Guide was very good and helpful - like having a tour guide in the car with us! I would give it a full “Excellent” if the GPS map worked with Apple CarPlay fully and we could display the map on the car’s built in display screen. The audio did work thru CarPlay though. Overall a great idea and look forward to using it as the technology improves in the months and years to come!

    Beautiful views
The tour was very informative. We had a great time. The only problem We encountered was that somehow at times we were not in sync with the narrator and the scenic route. Otherwise the route is so beautiful

    Audio tour is ok.
Audio tour is ok, I had better experience with other audio apps. Several technical issues: 1. whenever there is a story, a picture shows up on screen, but I would rather still look at the map. 2. After each stop, the audio tour would repeat the story we have already heard, seems the app cannot tell the difference between coming into the stop and leaving the stop.

Not a very good experience with the audio tour
Never received the email with the title “ Your tour operator sent you a message” I checked my inbox and junk folder multiple times. I even called the operator, but they did not pick up the phone.

My tour kept saying it wouldn't download because I didn't have an internet connection. I pulled over to Starbucks, connected to their WiFi and it took an unsually long time to download the tour via the app. I thought the map would guide me to my next stop it didn't, I had to go back and forth between my navigation and the app it was extremely frustraring.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience! Our tours are designed to work entirely offline, but they do need to be downloaded ahead of time. The map is absolutely designed to guide you from one destination to the next, so we would very much like to hear details of the issue you ran into in order to have our team investigate the matter. If you could contact us when you have the time so we can look into this, we would greatly appreciate it!

This audio tour is fantastic! It is so easy to use. Just open the tour in the app and drive! As you approach a point of interest it automatically comes on and tells you about what’s ahead. It is very informative and helps you to identify when and where to stop. You can use the preview function to see all the points of interest and plan ahead to decide what you want to see. We liked it so much that we downloaded another one for Sequoia National Park. I highly recommend this product and I will purchase more tours in the future.

Fill up before you reach San Simeon if you’re headed from South to North. I we LOVED this easy history, pace, and views. I am a California native and have never driven the 1 until now. This made the journey even better, and everyone I’ve shown this to is eager to get this app themselves. I HIGHLY recommend stopping at the elephant seal view point

Really happy we used the Monterey to Pismo Beach audio tour. It really added a LOT of substance to our 7 hour journey. It was wonderful that the narator knew when to talk about the next sight to see. I was a little unsure a few times, IF the audio tour was still working because of extended silence however, everything worked out. I recommend taking the south route as it was SO easy to pull off the road at every turn and passenger could see the view better.

We thought that for $ 10, we would care if it wasn’t useful but we really liked the app! 20 years ago we did the same route without the app and we just drove. Now we learnt about the area, and we knew where to stop. It is easy to use because the audio come up alone before you reach the interesting point. I really recommend it!

The idea is great but execution is flawed. You must download everything ahead of time and even if you do the app occasionally needs to reconnect to the internet. It just so happened that I was driving down Route 1 and lost internet and the app decided it needed to connect to the internet even though I had already downloaded everything. It worked fine the day before but today it just stopped working. It was useless really. Great info but it as only reliable when you had a network and most of the Big Sur has poor cell service.

Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like the tour did not fully download offline, so it kept trying to reconnect. Because Big Sur has poor signal, the tour is designed to work fully offline but obviously something went wrong. I’d love to diagnose the issue fully — please send us an e-mail with your phone type so we can reproduce the problem ASAP.

Perhaps it is my fault for not reading the details more carefully. There are many attractions noted along the way and I thought the app would navigate to these it does not. Specifically 17-mile drive is noted but if you want the details of the drive it’s another $15. The app is fine for the price but I was expecting more.

You’re right that 17 Mile Drive is priced separately, and that is noted in the tour description (though it always bears repeating!) If there’s anything I can add or change to ensure the rest of the tour goes from good to great, please let me know! I’m dedicated to making this a fantastic product, so any feedback is a huge help. And I’d be happy to exchange or refund this tour for you since it didn’t wow you — please reach out.

My husband and I have used another driving app before so I am comparing it to that one. This one needs work. It was confusing. The commentary didn’t always match with the location. We were sent to a starting point and didn’t understand why. There could have been many starting points with just a bit of explanation. There was no explanation. The map was hard to understand at first, I.e. not clear where to turn and no commentary to guide us. It would have been very hard to use this app solo and drive as well. A page kept popping up asking if we were enjoying the app. I couldn’t respond “no” because it directed me to another page and we were driving and trying to listen. It continued to pop up. It was so annoying that we finally turned the app off.

I'm sorry about your experience! It’s definitely unusual since Big Sur is a straight road and the starting point is right on the highway — it’s basically just driving straight from that point on! Please don’t hesitate to contact us ASAP when facing issues like this — we’re available over call, chat, or email precisely to help with this.

This was actually a really good and very thurough audio guide. Lots of information and cool facts etc. The problem is it's probably better if you have at least 1 other person in the car to operate the audio guide and navigate etc. Between driving, keeping up with the guide/map, and trying to take pictures it became a little difficult. I would recommend this for 2+ people. I did enjoy myself regardless. Also the tour does not include the time if you take the detours and go into the different parks or hiking trails etc.

Thank you so much for your feedback! The flexibility to explore at your own pace is one of the best features of our self-guided tour. I’m thrilled that my tour of Big Sur added to your learning and that you enjoyed it. I also have 100 other self-guided tours for other parks, scenic drives, cities, and historic sites in the US — hopefully, you’ll get the chance to try them next time! Also, just to remind you, the tour you bought is yours for a lifetime. So, you can listen to it at home or on your next visit.

We’ve used other apps for tours before; this was not good. Lots of lag time between each stop with little narration. We missed many of the stops because the gps was not working. We basically had to follow our own map. I would not select this tour again.

Kelly, I’d be more than happy to exchange this tour for another one since your experience wasn’t great! It’s likely the lag and silences were related to the GPS not working — this is a crucial function of the tour (it plays based on location). Can you confirm that the app’s location tracking permissions were all allowed?
