Uninterested, late tourguide; waste of money
Our tour guide (Josh I believe) was extremely uninterested in telling us anything. He was about 50 yards ahead of us the entire tour and said he’s “not an overbearing tour guide” as an excuse for not telling us about what we were seeing. Truly a waste of $200 when I could’ve given myself the same tour by renting on my own. I do not recommend this company at all spend your money elsewhere! He also arrived late when we were instructed to arrive 30 min early. Our tour was supposed to be an hour and a half but ended in about 50 minutes due to Josh rushing us through.

      Best Time Ever!
Joel was the best guide! He made sure he showed us and explained to us all the different parts of the springs and made sure we saw all the animals. We had such an amazing experience and already can't wait to do it again!

      Beautiful & fun!
Brandon led an amazing tour! He knew where to find the highlights. We even saw the mama and baby manatee! Loved hour Brandon showed us everything but was also very respectful of the habitat and creatures. He reminded everyone to give space, especially to the mama and baby manatee.

      Best kayaking adventure ever!!!
To start with, we had the most memorable time with Brandon as our tour guide. We had the honor of seeing a mother manatee and her newborn calf. Brandon made sure our group was able to see and have plenty of viewing time as well as NOT getting to close. So glad he stressed the correct and legal way to interact with our precious/federally protected manatees. As Floridians, we wanna keep our manatees safe at all costs and Brandon made sure we kept our distance, but was still able to get memorable videos. We saw plenty of water birds, fish, manatees, monkeys, turtles and alligators! The day was absolutely beautiful and full of adventures. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip at Silver Springs. During our excursion, Brandon educated us on our beautiful surroundings. He is very knowledgeable too! Brandon was also very patient with our group and we were able to kayak leisurely without feeling rushed. Would highly recommend this tour to family and friends. Enjoyed it so much, we will definitely do again. Thank you Get Up and Go for this unforgettable experience!

      Great day
Josh was great he even sent us videos of the manatees underwater he took with his phone since it was hard to see them with the pictures we took from being too low in the water! He was respectful to the animals personal space as well as informative during the tour! One of my favorite thing we did our on vacation for sure!

      Brilliant experience
We travelled as a family of 4, kids are 8 and 10. We were given good clear instructions from the start about how the trip would work. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave lots of info whenever we asked questions. We saw manatees, aligators, turtles, fish, birds and a snake. All 4 of us loved the expereince and agreed it was the best activity we did on our Florida holiday.

      Nice afternoon trip
Our kayak tour with Brandon was terrific. Brandon was very knowledgeable in terms of the wildlife and he was an amiable tour guide. We got to see lots of manatees, turtles, and even baby (and older) alligators. All in all a pleasant and fun trip.

Our family, including kids 15 and 9, did the kayak tour. It was so much fun! We saw manatees, otters, huge fish, cool birds and even an alligator (it stayed on the shore). Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable.

When everyone passing you in canoes, kayaks, and on paddle boats says "oh man, a clear kayak, that would be the way to do this", you know you're doing it right! Silver Springs is absolutely beautiful and having a clear kayak allows you to take it all in. The team at Get Up And Go Kayaking is professional, timely, and patient. We were set for a 1.5-hour tour but it ended up going a bit longer and that's was fine by us.
Lauren, our guide, shared the history of the area, did an excellent job of pointing out the wildlife (sadly we didn't see monkeys), and did a great job of balancing keeping everyone together and giving everyone the time to see everything.
You can see the springs in one of the glass bottom boats but going in a kayak gives you more freedom to see the area and have a more personalized experience. And when a manatee or gator is nearby you can get a little closer.
We would definitely recommend Get Up And Go Kayaking at Silver Springs and hope we're able to book another tour at one of their other locations in Florida.

I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in Wildlife and want to take a few hours relaxing on the water. Winsor was our tour guide he was amazing such a lovely chilled out guy, very friendly, obviously loved his job and was very knowledgeable. He took a large group out in the clear kayaks we felt safe the whole time. The ride was not strenuous and the equipment was easy to use. You do not get wet but I would advise taking a hat. We saw plenty of Manatees they swam under our kayaks several times. I would most definitely do this again when in Florida.

We had Josh for the guide and he was so friendly and answered loads of questions we threw at him. This experience is so worth the money, we attended with a party of 10 in the early afternoon and it was such an adventure, it combines the fun from the kayaking and the adventure and wildlife side as well, The perfect place to see fish, turtles, Alligators and even monkeys if you are lucky enough. Memories and photos we all will cherish for ever, 10/10 recommend you go and experience it yourself.

Tour was cancelled 2 days in a row for bad weather. The first day was raining so it was understandable that it was cancelled but the second day was also cancelled 10 minutes prior for bad weather. We were there 1 hour prior and it was not raining, the weather was fine. Tour cancelled. Very frustrating watching other kayakers go out while our tour guide couldn’t seem happier packing up her gear. Silver springs state park luckily has a kayak rental there so we rented kayaks and spent 2 hours on the river. No rain. Not a drop. Don’t waste your money getting a tour just go to the state park and rent them there.

The safety of our guests is our top priority. It was unfortunate that the weather was not cooperating for either of the tours you were scheduled for. We try and monitor the weather radar as best as we can, though technology can sometimes be faulty. Our guides get paid only for the tours they go out on, so I guarantee our guide was not happy about setting up for the tour just to pack up and make no money. The weather in Florida can be frustrating for us also as a company, because when the weathers bad we also don’t make money. Any tours cancelled by us are fully refunded, just like you were. Therefore, you didn’t waste your money because you were refunded. Kayak rentals at the state park can be great, but you won’t get to fully immerse yourself in nature with our clear kayaks, or learn about the wildlife and Springs from our guides. We hope you all will join us another time on one of our paddling adventures!

Terribly disappointing "tour." We were 15 minutes early as requested and yet had to wait 15 minutes past the tour time for a group of 4 that never showed. Took the guide, Darren, 20 minutes to launch three kayaks, only to discover that the other two kayaks had customers who had never kayaked before and we were told to wait to the side while he helped them. We would paddle a few yards, then wait for the others over and over again. The others couldn't get the hang of it. Finally Darren came up and told us to go on and he would catch up with us. He knew nothing of the local history, the wildlife or vegetation. Then he told us it was his first day and he himself had only kayaked 10 times before. We made a loop around the springs and then he called it a day. I reached out to the company after they emailed us a questionnaire about our experience but we never heard back. Complete waste of money.

Hi Trish, we are very sorry to hear the tour did not live up to your expectations! With our tours it is VERY possible to have a group with varying skill levels on the water. Our guides try to the best of their ability to ensure everyone on the tour is enjoying themselves as well as work with those individuals who may be on the water for their first time. After discussing this particular instance with our guide, he ensured us that he did in fact share with you at the start of your tour that you would be doing a loop of the river to which he likes to point out a map to our paddlers before departing. In addition, he shared facts with you all along the way including the history of the springs focusing on plants, waterways and boats. Not only is Derin very experienced when it comes to giving tours, as he has 8 years experience guiding, he is also currently working towards getting his masters degree in herbalism which makes him that much more passionate about the springs! Derin, did inform us that he had to paddle back to the other group at times to ensure they were getting relevant information and that they were comfortable in the kayaks. As this is a guided tour Derin explained to you that because you wanted to go at a faster pace than the other guests were going, he would paddle back to them and share relevant information, then come back to you all and do the same. It was and is always important to Derin that ALL members of the tour felt as though they had reliable access to him, the information he was providing as well as opportunity to ask any questions along the way. There was a point along the river where he felt it necessary to wait for the other group to catch up before paddling upstream as a sense of togetherness on a tour tends to heighten the overall tour experience! Unfortunately it does happen that occasionally groups will be running behind. As stated in your confirmation email - tour guides will wait 15 min if a party is running late. As this is a group tour this involves ALL customers on that specific tour. Once the 15 min. mark passes, customers will be marked as a no-show if they do not arrive. We apologies for the other group on your tour as they were running late and therefore made you all wait to start. However, this is something we make customers aware of prior to the start of tours. At the end of your tour Derin mentioned he had thought you all still enjoyed your time after giving him a tip before you departed! In addition, we checked our phone records and email and do not have any communication from you all after your tour. As always, we do want ALL guests to walk away knowing they enjoyed their tour. So if you choose to join us again on the water we would like your next tour to be on us! If there is anything more we can do to help make your situation right please don’t hesitate sending us an email at SilverSprings@getupandgokayaking.com Thank you!

Amazing experience with guide Josh and his lizard, Pumpkin! My partner and I had a very relaxing trip, a little shy of 2 hours. Gorgeous clear springs you can see perfectly through the clear kayaks. It wasn’t crowded at all when we went and the group we went with was small, only 5 tandem kayaks, so we could all hear Josh and see everything there was to see along the route. Josh did a great job pointing out important stuff but also letting us paddle and float and relax. We saw monkeys, a manatee, alligators, turtles, birds and lots of fish. October was perfect weather, sunny, 85 degrees, and cool in the shade warm in the sun. You can’t swim in silver springs, so I recommend booking in October when you don’t feel the need to cool off in the water but dipping a hand or foot does the trick :) It was truly an amazing experience for us and we will book again!

We was on this trip at 1.30pm. And after about 30 minutes it starts to rain and a tunderstorm showed up. We told the tourguide (female we don‘t know the name) that we saw lighting. So she said thats not good we have to short the trip back because its dangerous on the water. But then she decided to continue the trip (we don‘t know why) And it was really a strong thunderstorm with lightening and we told her we are scared we want to go back. But then she told us its not that bad nothing will happen and she will make sure if a lightening hit here that its not us its her. (makes totaly no sense to us!!) We know that its really dangerous on a river in a kayak when a thunderstorm pass by especially with lightening. So every person should know that especially when you are a tour guide! So we had no chance to get back she continued the trip very normal and said we should stay near the trees. We are really shocked we never experienced something like this! She put our lives in danger. Even as we told her we are scared she doesn‘t care. It was a very very bad experience. We are glad that nothing bad happens but at least we want our money back.! Thats so incompetent!

We strive to ensure that every guest has a great time out on our tours. Therefore, your feedback has been taken seriously. We reached out to the guide and other guests on the same tour as you to find out more. The two groups on the tour with you both said they had an awesome time even with the downpour that came out of nowhere at the end, and none of them feared for their lives. The guide informed us that when the storm hit, you all were already at the half way point. She stayed calm during the downpour to ensure no one panicked. In this case, the fastest way off the river was to take the Fort King Paddling Trail back to the kayak launch. If she had chosen to turn around and go back the same way, you would have been fighting the current and it would have taken longer for everyone to get back. We sympathize with you in this situation and wish you both had a better time with us on this paddling adventure. Due to the circumstances, we have refunded you in good faith that you will remove this review. We hope to have y’all come out with us again in the future to experience the beauty of Silver Springs!

Had a great, relaxing time. Never felt rushed and Sam was an awesome guide! We saw a handful of alligators and plenty of turtles. No manitees but he did take us to check for some stragglers, as manitee season is from November to February. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the river and the area. Don’t buy a dry bag because they provide one about as big as a regular drawstring bag. The clear kayaks were cool but I recommend that you sit on a pad or lifejacket because it gets pretty uncomfortable on your behind. The back support on the chair was good.

My family and I had a lot of fun on this trip. Our tour guide Bryce brought us through the beautiful scenery of this place and he really knew his stuff about the area. We also saw many turtles, a few alligators, and a manatee. Luckily we also had great sunny 80 degree weather for our ride through. There’s also plenty of things to see under the clear kayaks there, it’s a very clear view down. We saw fish, a couple statues, turtles in the water, and also a boat that sunk. Very cool trip, you don’t want to miss this if you’re in the area!

Our clear kayaking experience was great. Our tour guide, Josh S, was very personable and had a lot of really cool facts about the spring and all its inhabitants. He was also very calm around all of the wildlife and did his best to steer us away from any large gators. 10/10 would reccommend this experience to anyone.
