Cancelled tour again
I’ve booked this tour twice in different visits to Chicago and both times it has been cancelled on me. On this occasion I got an email at 3pm the day before to say it was cancelled but it was in my junk email so I didn’t see it.

Cancelled by operator
May 2019
Really looking forward to doing this attraction, had booked the tickets in the UK. The operator cancelled on the day we arrived in Chicago and rearranged for the previous day, could not do this as had a full schedule of sight seeing arranged. Took 30 minutes online to cancel and have our money refunded.

Cancelled On Us
Apr. 2019 • Friends
We made reservations over a month ago. The AFTERNOON BEFORE our morning tour, it was cancelled! The next available day and time to RE-book that tour was after we were to return home. We were very disappointed as it was too late to book another tour for that morning time. Viator did immediately refund our ticket purchase price.

Chicago Film Tour
This was a great tour.Patrick the guide was very knowledgeable and it was fun seeing the movie scene as you were driving along the road they were showing.
The pick up point was further down the road than I thought so just be aware of that. I would recommend this tour

Frustrating and unprofessional

Took a family trip to Chicago and they are huge movie fans so I thought this tour would be a perfect match. Called Friday and left a message called Saturday and emailed Saturday and called Sunday. Never received a call back and when I emailed I received an automatic email which said I would receive an email in 24 hours I have still not received one.

It's worth doing once. Learned a lot about movies made in Chicago. Interesting.

We try to always do something new when we visit Chicago. Found this which sounded interesting. The tour guide, James McDonald, is a movie critic and very knowledgeable about the film industry, especially in Chicago. For the most part the tour was very interesting as we listened to Jim and watched parts of movies filmed in Chicago at numerous locations around the area. Found it interersting that there were actually 2 film studios located in Chicago at one time. Learning Walt Disney is from Chicago and one of the people who started Universal studios got his start with oldtime movies in Chicago and is from our state of Wisconsin. Seeing some of the old theatres used many years ago was interesting. It would have been nice for Jim to specifically point out the buildings we passed which were used for the movies we watched on the screens as we were approaching the buildings since it we often didn't know which side of the bus the building/site was on and often didn't know exactly which building he was talking about as we passed them. More precise directions on what we were going to see before we drove past them would have been helpful. But Jim was enjoyable to listen to even with these suggestions for improvement. Recommending sitting on the driver side of the bus for the best views of most of the buildings used for movies.

Disappointing
Jul. 2016 • Family
We booked the film tour in advance online and were rather disappointed. Although the gentleman doing the tour was very pleasant and knowledgable, many of the films mentioned were simply ones I had never heard of. We seemed to spend more time actually sat in traffic than actually seeing very much at all. It also seemed that many of the locations were really off the beaten track.

The film tour to no where
May 2017 • Family
Booked and confirmed this tour through my credit card rewards program (Chase Saphire). I paid in advance and had the tour company's booking confirmation. As other reviewers have indicated, the pickup point was a designated street corner near a McDonalds. But since there were a number of other companies picking up tour customers there, it appeared to be the right place. We arrived 15 minutes early. Our pick up time came and passed. I called numerous times and left messages, but no calls were returned and the tour never came. A week later I called again (5 calls at this point). Again, a recording, and no one with the guts to call back. Save your money. Find a different tour company that's willing to complete their part of the contract.

Started out at the Rock and Roll McDonald's, which was a fun attraction, and then aboard a comfortable bus, with drop down monitors, and a VERY knowledgeable guide, not only do you get to see, and experience where some of your favorite films are made, but also a behind the scenes perspective from the guide. An added bonus is just seeing Chicago, its alot different when someone else is driving, highly recommend this tour.
