Meet your driver at your Las Vegas hotel for the trip to Red Rock Canyon, a National Conservation Area that’s just 16 miles (26 kilometers) outside of Las Vegas’ bustling downtown.

If you opt for the half-day “Red Rock Express” tour, travel the 13-mile (21-kilometer) loop road that takes in Red Rock Canyon’s most scenic spots, learning about the canyon’s geography and wildlife along the way.

On the longer “Red Rock Canyon” tour, there’s more time to stop and check out the desert sights: See the colorful sandstone at Calico Hills, visit limestone roasting pits used by Native Americans, and take in the petroglyphs at Willow Springs. After driving the loop road through the park, continue to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, where you sit down to a picnic lunch on a ranch once owned by eccentric millionaire Howard Hughes.

The tour ends with drop-off at your Las Vegas hotel.

You do not have to walk around at all if you don't want to. The majority of the stops were at areas that you could get off the bus and snap some pictures. There is one stop at the beginning that has a walking path, but... More
