Red Rock Canyon and its red-hued hiking trails sit a short drive west of Las Vegas. Escape the commotion of the Vegas Strip on this half-day hiking tour that includes transportation to and from the canyon and a guide to help you find the right trail for your fitness level. With a choice of morning or afternoon start time, the Red Rock Canyon hiking tour works with your schedule.

What to Expect

Get picked up from a designated hotel and driven to Red Rock Canyon by air-conditioned coach. Once you arrive, your guide will help you choose the trail that best suits you.

Choose between Calico Hills and Icebox Canyon trails. Calico Hills is a 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) trail that runs along the base of Calico Rocks from Calico Basin to Sandstone Quarry. This trail is rated “easy to moderate.”

The “moderately strenuous” Ice Box Canyon trail leads up the side of the canyon and drops to the bottom for a 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) round-trip. A second 3-mile (4.8-kilometer) portion reaches the upper pool, which is filled by a seasonal waterfall.

After a half-day spent outdoors, take a comfortable ride back to the point of departure.

Had an excellent couple of hours hiking the Calico Tanks trail. Went off trail for a lot of it and scrambled up rocks, getting great views that no one on the trail was getting. The guide picked us up exactly on time, provided water, and...More

It rocks.

Took the more energetic option to see the views of Vegas. Good hike to the top. Very hot and lots of dust made some smoother rocks very slippery for my smooth soled shoes. Eventually took a tumble on the descent. Very good guide filled us...More

John, Glad to hear you had a nice time on your hike. Some of the Vegas views can only be appreciated once you get there to see them for yourself. We hope that you will consider coming back on another wilderness tour with Escape Adventures.

Fantastic hike, awesome guide

My husband and I booked the 1 pm guided hike at red rock and loved it. We were afraid it would be too hot in the middle of the day in August but it was cooler out there than it was on the strip. Plus,...More

Thank you for choosing Escape Adventures! The temps are much better once you get out to the Red Rock Conservation area. You may not notice but as you are driving out there you are gaining in elevation, then depending on the hike you gain a...More

We were not big hikers or into rock climbing. The tour took us to the location and the driver/tour guide took us on whichever path we chose. We were able to get to good spots that we would not have been able to get to on... More
