        FANTASTIC TOUR!!
BOOK THIS TOUR!!! Our tour guide Preston was so sweet and told us little nuggets of knowledge all day. The river is gorgeous and we had an absolute blast!

The best thing we did on our trip
This was a superb tour. Everything was superbly organised with clear communication. Our guide was excellent and equipment was all in good order. The setting is spectacular. Ironically the cave itself is ok but not as amazing as the whole river setting that is steeped in history. Can’t recommend highly enough. We did get caught out by the fact that AZ doesn’t follow same daylight saving as NV so if you’re coming from Vegas check the time zones - we were an hour early but no big deal!

Emerald Cave Tour w/Preston (Tour Guide)
Yesterday, 04-17-2024, a group of seven of us went on the kayaking tour for my wife’s birthday, and had Preston as our tour guide. He was great! He made the experience one to remember and was so knowledgeable about the river and its surrounding nature. It was the first time for all of us and he made certain that we were all completely comfortable before beginning the journey. Every last one of us enjoyed it to the fullest! We will definitely be going again in the near future, and booking our trip through River Dogz! Thanks again, Preston, for making it such an amazing experience!

A Vegas Excursion you wouldn't expect
I did this tour in June of 2022 (the list didn't allow me to select that date) and it was way better than I'd imagine. The van ride itself wasn't too lengthy from the strip and our guide was entertaining and informative. If you've ever dreamt of being in two places at once you can be (Arizona and Nevada). It was a hot 35 degrees Celsius that day but the river water and breeze made it comfortable (pack sunscreen, hat and sunglasses). My best friend and I wanted to do something we hadn't tried before in Vegas and this was just what we needed. It was relaxing and enjoyable but also got a little exercise in paddling. I would recommend and would even try again.

        not disappointed
We lucked out with the weather. It was exactly what you would order if you were going to kayak. But the review is about River Dogz, and they are exactly what you should order if you want a guided kayak tour. Very friendly and concerned about the safety of all of the guests. If you are even a moderately experienced kayaker, you might consider kayaking without a guide. But even so, the guide was knowledgeable about the area and able to point out sites and great picture opportunities, kayaks and paddles were in good shape, water and snacks were provided and plenty.

An enjoyable 3 hour trip - perfect speed for novice kayakers
We had a beautiful day out on the Colorado River! The views were spectacular and we went at the end of February so the weather was just about perfect - mid to upper 60s. Emerald Cove was cool and our guide Ryan was great - very patient and helpful to those that weren't experienced kayakers. We had a good group (total of 10 people + Ryan). All-in-all, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable 3 hours.

Fun activity away from the strip
What a wonderful experience kayaking on the Colorado River!! Our guide Michelle was the best!! Very knowledgeable and fun to be with… starting from pick up all the way to drop off. We arranged a pick up in Henderson bc we were not staying on the strip and the company was very accommodating and even texted when they were on the way. Michelle told the group all kinds of facts along the way and made sure to get plenty of pictures of us! Lots of sights and animals to see! We lucked out with perfect weather! The company also provides water and snacks which was greatly appreciated.

        Amazing Tour Guide
This was an amazing experience and our Tour guide (Michelle) was amazing. She was knowledgeable, fun and highly experienced. I am in the US on holidays for 5 weeks and have done over a dozen tours across the US and this has to be one of the better one. If you’re around this area I would highly recommend this tour.

Great way to spend an afternoon!!!
We did the Emerald Cove Kayak Tour (self drive) in December with Ryan as our guide. WOW. The communication leading up to the activity was great. The marina has bathrooms, gift shop, and plenty of parking. It was easy to find the group once we parked--after a brief safety talk we were off! Ryan kept the pace of the kayak very comfortable and offered alot of interesting insight about the Colorado River, the landscape and local wildlife (we saw long horn sheep walking along the rocks!). We stopped along a little beach for a short break on the kayak towards the Emerald Cove. There is plenty of water, fruit, snacks during the entire activity. Ryan made sure everyone was hydrated, was a great photographer, and an awesome guide. It was incredibly relaxing and sure didn't seem like 4 hours on the river. This activity was a def a highlight for this trip!

Our driver/tour guide was Kylee and she was great! She was very funny from the start of the tour and it was cool that she gave us some pretty cool facts about Hoover Dam and Boulder City on the way to the river. Definitely recommend if you’re in the Vegas area or even so, live there and are looking to get away.

Note: they do provide water and a wide variety of snacks but only after you’ve kayaked about 2/3s of the way. I would recommend bringing your own water and a small snack because you do burn a lot of energy!

I just did this trip this week and had a really good experience with them. We had two guides, Danny and a girl whose name I can't quite remember. The guides made it fun even if it was a little bit frantic at times. The views and staff are good. They made sure we made it back on time for our show tickets at 7. They did a good job being accommodating for us on this, but to make the experience less stressful I'd recommend you have this tour be the only thing you do in the day. It will be worth it.
I will mention that someone in our tour had a broken shoulder so they were doing the tandem but weren't very good at it. Our guides were helpful with this as they switched the boats around so that a guide paddled the person with the broken shoulder and made it work. Our other guide also did a good job and sent everyone the photos during the ride back. Great work!
What is weird is that the best parts of the tour for me were the little hike and break we did and not the emerald cove. It was more like going to a zoo to see the pandas but leaving and talking mostly about the prairie dogs!
To improve I'd say maybe a couple of things. First, maybe include on a map of where the pickup location will be, there was some confusion as to exactly where the shuttle van would grab us from the hotel but it worked out.
Second, make it clear the total range of possible return times, maybe some disclaimer when you book that don't have any other plans after X PM depending on the tour.

Hello, This is Alyssa your tour guide from that day. Thank you so much for the honest review! you and your children were a pleasure to have. I do apologize for there mix up. I work in the office part time and we have a template that we use to save us time from typing It up from each guest. The template is for the message we send that informs you about out pick up time. It says that you can expect to be back at your hotel between 5pm and 6pm, we typically hope that after reading this, no one sets reservations for before 8pm because it leaves no room for traffic on the road, or busyness on the river, to get you back to your hotel in time to shower and get ready in leisure. We were not informed before the tour that you had set reservations for 7pm which made things a little anxious indeed, but we did everything we could to get you back in time to shower for your show. I believe that message stating to expect to be back possibly by 6pm is the disclaimer you are asking for from us. As for the map, I am honestly not sure how to create one, or even what program to download to do that, It would be quite a bit of work, so this is why we just call to make sure we can find you as we did the morning before the tour. I am sorry to hear that the cave was not the highlight of your tour, but we do have other tours to offer. Reach out to us next time you are heading to town, and we can discuss the best tour to fit your adventurer style. :)

Zack was a great tour guide. Most in the group were novice kayakers and he was very patient and ensured we were safe and had a great time. Zack was very thorough pointing out points of interest along the route and making sure we stopped to hydrate. He also picked us up from the hotel and returned us on time. During the trip he ventured off the highway to show us some interesting sites. Overall, very good day and highly recommended.

What a great way to spend a quiet day in Vegas! We were picked up at our hotel and enjoyed the drive to the kayak launch. Our guide Michelle was amazing in her energy and her knowledge of the area. She talked the entire time we drove and pointed out historical facts as we traveled by Boulder City, Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam, and some great views of the Colorado River. This trip would have been worth it just for the scenic drive! The kayak part was everything I hoped it would be, and I loved learning about the area. Michelle has lured us in and we will be back for another tour with RiverDawgs and hopefully hit the hot springs we learned are hidden back there!

A fantastic day out. Our driver and tour guide Preston picked us up on time at our hotel location. Preston gave us a detailed plan of activities for the day, on are way to to Emerald to cove Preston would give us information regarding the route explaining of the Hoover dam be built where the works lived. As we where driving through Boulder City the high Street was full of art work of the histroy of the Hoover Dam. Preston parked up and we where allowed yo take pictures of wildlife goat's. When we arrived at Emerald cove we was dropped off at the cafe, shop to grab any items we may need and to use to the toilets. We had a short walk down lake to our kayaks. Preston gave us are life jackets and kayaks. Preston gave the group a demonstration on using the paddles and how to enter kayak. We had a 10 minutes of get use to using the kayak. Preston gave us a safety talk on our route and to be aware of any boats using the lake. We went upto 2 miles of the lake which allowed use to to catch to other members of the group, Preston would often keep an eye on us and have a chat. To how we where getting on with kayak. We pulled over to side to have break and to a drink of water and snacks which was provided by Preston. Some of the group had a swim in the lake which was really cool as the day was very hot. Preston took use on a 15 minute hike up to an old workers house who use to monitor the water level as we hiking Preston would talk about the plants and the minerals with in the rocks. When reached to the top of the hike we could take pictures, Preston would take pictures of anyone needed any assistance. We went down the lake to the cave. We had to wait for another group to leave, Preston gave instructions on how to enter the cave. The cave was very beautiful and the water was colour of emerald green due to the rocks. Preston gave talk about the cave and what wildlife had lifted there ie swallows you could see the old nests. Preston took pictures of everyone leaving the cave and sent them to our phones later in the day. On are way we had a water fight with another group tour guide which was fun. When had finished kayaking all kayas where cleaned and rubbish removed. I would suggest bring beach foot wear and clothing which will be wet. You can change in the toilet, all you belongings where locked away in the van. I have never did kayaking before I would recommend this activity to anyone, a great experience and loads of fun. Thank you Preston for an excellent day.

The trip was very well organized from beginning to end. Pickup time / location communicated several times as well as a call from our tour guide Tyler the morning of our trip. He thoroughly explained the logistics of the day and stayed on schedule without ever feeling we were being rushed.

Tyler is a terrific guide — so friendly, knowledgeable, and easy going. He was very attentive to all the people in his group to ensure they were safely enjoying the trip. His knowledge of the history of the area and the dam project was informative and interesting.

While the day we went was quite windy Tyler gave us great tips on how to ensure that did not spoil our day.

Overall we had an excellent time and highly recommend Tyler and the Riverdogz team to anyone looking to get out of Vegas for awhile and enjoy the outdoors.

This was by far the highlight of our trip!! Zac was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable of the history and the whole kayaking experience. The Colorado River and Cave is breathtakingly beautiful and highly recommend to anyone who can appreciate the beauty of creation. Zac was friendly, fun and very informative regarding the whole experience. One thing to note, please don’t be intimidated to do this beautiful tour due to lack of kayaking experience and/or minor physical limitations. It is easy and Zac provides step by step instructions and offers assistance if need be. Don’t miss out on this trip and ask for Zac!!

Zach was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic! This was my husband and I’s first time kayaking so he took some time to show the group how to properly use the equipment. Conveniently picked us up at the hotel, made a stop at Lake Meade and he was super informative about the area. He made the experience of kayaking very memorable - the water was absolutely beautiful and our enjoyment (and safety) was a top priority of his. Such a fun adventure - would highly recommend for beginners, in betweeners and experienced!

A shout out to Mike from River Dogz who was our guide. From start to finish he was an amazing guide giving detailed instructions throughout the tour, checking on everyone within our group throughout the tour and he was extremely friendly and conversational. The tour itself was breathtaking as far as the views go in the canyon and the river. The sun hit the cave just right and our pictures definitely looked just like the pictures in the photo online. The cave is small and more like an inlet Cove but did fit all of our group of multiple kayaks in it. There was a short wait for us to get into the cave to take photos as we had to wait for other groups that were ahead of us but totally worth it. Relax and enjoy the scenery while you are waiting. The weather was beautiful just a little windy going upstream but for a short period of time and we had a tail wind on the way back which definitely helped for an easier paddle on the way back. Mike brought along plenty of water and snacks for all of us to have throughout the trip and on our short break where we walked up to the top of the cliff which was a great spot for photos. The water temperature in the river is in the 50s so don’t flip your kayak or you will be really cold. It did feel nice to wade in the water at our rest stop though. If you do bring your cell phone along bring a floatable waterproof case in case you drop it into the river by accident.

Our tour guide Zach was awesome!! He was very informative. We originally booked the full day tour but there were not enough people booked so we changed to the Emerald cave tour , where the cost was discounted due to the inconvenience. We had a great time. I will definitely return and request Zach.

We need 4 people to fulfill our full day. We can have a private tour for a small fee add on for future people. Glad we were able to work a tour out for you. Looks like we might have to have you back out there on lour full day! IT is amazing. Thanks for the great review!
