- robeE5312KS00nice experience - peaceful and funGreat food, good equipment and excellent guide. The trip was at a leisurely pace but fun and with beautiful scenery.
- macdonab00Great experience, highly recommend! We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight kayak trip to Seal Cove! Our guide, Kurtis, was friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. The scenery was gorgeous, the food was wonderful, and all gear provided was in good condition! Thanks for such a great experience.
- Steven Y00Amazing Kayak Adventure to Three Sisters - Half Day TourI have done many guided sea kayaking trips and Nova Shores knows how to do it right. Nova Shores provides participants with a lot of extra gear that most places do not. This is extremely helpful if you are traveling because it cuts down on what you have to bring, but it is also helpful if this is your first time kayaking. The boots that they provide are great and I highly recommend them. While you do not have to step into the water a lot, they will keep you feet warm if they get wet. They also have some jackets and gloves depending on what time of year you go out. The kayaks and paddles were all in good repair, and I saw all the safety equipment I would expect to see with a trip of this nature. Our guide Liam was very kind and funny. He added to the quality of the trip because of his knowledge of the geology and local tribal lore about the Bay of Fundy. Liam also provided good instruction about kayaking and made sure that the group was safe and successful. Now the location is what makes this trip amazing. We went on the high tide paddle which I would highly recommend. When we paddled out, you were able to paddle amongst the rocks of the three sisters, go into natural coves and amphitheaters and even two sea caves. It was great fun to be able to paddle through the arch at high tide as well. At the "midway" you make it to a beach where you are able to get out and we enjoyed a bowl of chili and some great snacks. While you are on the beach the tides turn and start flowing out so as you head back you see the speed at which the tides flow out of the Bay of Fundy. Areas that you previously kayaked through are now unaccessible because of the change of water height, so you see it through a whole new lens. The tidal change actually gives you a push back to where you put in, so the paddling is even easier on the way back in. The scenery here is unbelievable and we saw a bald eagle soaring overhead on our trip. Nova Shores puts together a great adventure.and I would return to take one of their longer trips as well. Thank you to the Nova Shores team for making our trip to Advocate Harbor special.
- 303natashar00A Must Do Experience. This tour not only is beyond amazing by the kayaking itself, but our guide also explained the history and culture of the Bay of Fundy. This tour is friendly for all ages, among us was this vibrant 90 years young lady. You meet amazing people and see amazing sites.
- AAvidan00Fantastic!; Three sisters Kayak tourWe had a fantastic outing with James as our guide. I would highly recommend making the trek to Advocate Harbor to kayak in the Bay of Fundy. The weather was beautiful, the scenery is amazing and we got to stop for a delicious lunch on the red pebble beach sitting on driftwood logs. Great equipment, super nice people who run NovaShores and a very special part of the world. Try this!
- rhinj00Kayaking in the Bay of FundySafety conscious and experienced guides with a sense of humor. Two seat sea kayaks skirted and ruddered. An excellent way to experience the natural beauty. Our guide provided both human and geological history. Great value for our tourist dollars
- Deb M00Great experience.Attended with my 13 year old son. It was our first time in a sea kayak. They were very stable. It was a great way to see the area, as well as the tides. The guides prepared a great snack that we stopped to eat part way through.
- 88Kira00Rainy trip saved by our awesome guideThe weather did not cooperate for us on our overnight trip. It wasn't supposed to start raining until late afternoon so we all thought we'd have the day to enjoy kayaking and setting up our gear before it came. Unfortunately, the rain started pretty soon after we hit the water and kept up until later that evening. BUT, Dawson was an incredible guide and he did everything he could to make the trip as good as it could be under the circumstances. The views and the food were also amazing and although we didn't get the weather we hoped for, we certainly made memories that we will remember for a lifetime.
- cindy d00Lovely overnight paddle to Seal CoveWe found the trip delightful. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating. The scenery spectacular and the camp food tasty and abundant. Would highly recommend.
- love2travel10101000Totally amazing kayak tour and great experience!!!Everything about this tour was top notch! Nova Shores looked after every last detail to perfection. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgable (particularly about the history, mythology and geology of the area), extremely warm and personable. The company provided everything we needed to make the kayaking comfortable and enjoyable, including providing instructions for beginner kayakers, so that everyone felt comfortable no matter what their skill level. After a 1 1/2 hour kayak, we stopped at a beautiful site for lunch and was given time to explore the remarkable surroundings while they prepared a delicious and amazing lunch. While enjoying the lunch in our beautiful surroundings, the guide explained some of the many dishes and even brought recipes, which many of us happily took. We had an enjoyable and relaxed paddle back to the starting point where the guide took care of collecting all the paddles, life jackets and other items. The entire tour was professionally and exceptionally run and i would definately recommend it - you will not be disappointed.
- CherylM11900Great ExperienceNova Shores runs a great tour from start to finish. From the time you sign up (we did it online) the staff will communicate all the details you need to know and tell you what to bring with you. The staff at the office is very helpful and friendly. They will give you life jackets, waterproof booties, and a kayak spray skirt. From the office you will drive your car 1/2 hour to the launch spot where you will meet your guide and get your kayak. The guide will do introductions and give a safety briefing, then you are off to the water. The guide was very knowledgeable about the tides and also the geology of the area. We stopped at a beach for a delicious hot lunch and a bit of a break. Then we started paddling back to the launching point. The total time kayaking is only about 3 hours, is not physically taxing, but you do need to be in ok shape. I definitely recommend trying one of their tours.
- Elizabeth K00Nova shores see kayaking Tree sistersIt was the Best trip of my life The views were spectacular The lunch very delicious in the Best settings The service very professional
- liznovascotia00This was memorable! This was memorable, the guide was awesome, they were extremely safe and I thought the food was very good. Would LOVE to do this again. April 2015.
- Natasha P00Returned for Round 2!Drove in from Ontario with my 2 children (17 and 8) to do the 2-day kayak adventure to Seal Cove! What a great experience, surpassed expectations; we came last year for the day trip and were so taken aback by the beauty of the rock formations, watching the rising and falling tides, the great beach and archways we paddled through, and the great organization the hosts of Nova Shores showed us that we had to come again! This time around we explored caves, chignecto trails while our meal was prepped, watching seals bobbing around us and were gifted to see a few sunfish (mola mola’s) surface! The food was just fantastic and filling; we got a bit of rain but were provided with very nicely tarped shelter allowing us to still enjoy the view and have an amazing meal! Didnt feel rushed, was very fun, relaxing and still educational!! This is a MUST-DO for visitors!
- Rade_Jane00Cape Chignecto 3-Day Adventure July 30 - Aug 1, 2018What an amazing adventure it was! From the time we drove up to the residence to meet Anne, who outfitted us and filled us in on the details of the trip, the drive to the splash in point with Kienan, and the 3 days we spent with Damien (our guide) the service and experience was excellent. We were outfitted with great equipment - all up to date and top quality. The distances we paddled each day were well paced. The selection & variety of food was fabulous...especially the use of local fare. It was fortunate that the weather was in our favour to enjoy a venue as outstanding as Cape Chignecto both on and off the water. The trip would not have been as magnificent and successful as it was if it were not for our guide, Damien. He is mature and wise beyond his years. You can clearly see the honest enthusiasm and passion for being a guide and his desire for others to share in the experience is top notch. He is very knowledgeable and communicates all aspects of information in a very humble and concise manner. Damien's level of customer service is exemplary. He worked very hard, but made it look very easy. He even rescued an injured black-backed gull and brought it back with us for veterinary attention!! So caring. Thanks for a great experience. Cheers til next time!!

This was my first time sea kayaking so I was excited but a little worried...big waves, big rocks, little me in a kayak : )....As soon as we return from our fantastic day, I said 'I want to do this again!'. Anne, our guide, marries the unusual trait combination of relaxed yet extremely competent / 'on it'.
You will get wet. Each kayak has the use of a dry bag - I recommend you bring sunblock, bug spray and a dry long sleeve top. You'll be glad that you have them at lunch time!

The whole experience was fantastic. Our friendly guide was knowledgeable about the geology and history of the area, and knew just how to help a couple of rookie seniors handle the kayak. Paddling through and around the Three Sisters was the highlight, as was having a gourmet picnic lunch on a secluded beach.
We took advantage of the accommodations offered by Nova Shores which was very convenient, and walking distance to Wild Caraway, a hidden gem of a restaurant.

The beautiful sunny day on calm water with only 4 other boats in the Bay of Fundy—what could top that? Damien got us outfitted, told us great stories and facts, and guided us safely, to the Three Sisters and back. Lunch was filling and delicious. Worth every loonie!
And a suggestion: Stay in the Guest House. You have a private bedroom, private bathroom, and mini-kitchen—all in your upstairs wing of a gorgeous renovated Captain’s mansion. Anne (owner of NovaShores Seakayaking AND the Guest House) will take care of your needs. Advocate Harbor is a ways out there but by staying an extra night or two you can explore the beach at Chignecto AND the beach fossil beach at Joggins. Have fun, we did!

My Family and I took the 3 day kayak trip around Cape Chignecto. I had been wanting to do it for some time as the paddling area is known for its scenic beauty, but, it is also known for its trickiness due to the tides and currents of the ocean in that area. We didn't have the skill level to attempt it ourselves, but I had heard good things about the Nova Shores Sea Kayaking Tour Company from friends. We were all thrilled with the adventure. The booking was easy to do, everything was well organized. (Thanks Anne )All gear worked well, was in good shape and of great quality. ( note to self: upgrade my own gear. )We learned a lot: we all had had basic to intermediate kayaking experience, but would have found the waves of a moderate wind daunting. Our guide Damien was excellent as he coached us through the first windy leg. We learned so much, had a very fun and exciting time, and felt safe doing so. Then came lunch and supper - all with lovely fresh tasty food prepared by the Nova Shores kitchen and delivered by the multi talented Damien. He worked hard the whole trip and never missed a chance to make our trip more comfortable or entertaining. He did everything but sadly.... sing.
It truly was a wonderful adventure. And did I mention sleeping on the beach.... !
May I suggest this is world class.

What an awesome experience to be able to kayak during high tide and then to experience it all again a few hours later to have a totally unique view on the return leg. The Three Sisters along with their geological history was fascinating!! The tour from start to finish was professional and very friendly. Our two guides were Damien and Terry and they efficiently herded our large group of 16 women. They took wonderful care of us and provided a lovely lunch ashore. The whole day was an amazing adventure which will be cherished for a long time! Excellent job, Nova Shores!!

The is is a fantastic way to see the area. The Bay of Fundy is truly stunning. After group introductions and a brief safety talk from our guide, Damian, we climbed into our tandem kayaks to begin our adventure. As we launched from Spicers Cove just before high tide, we were able to paddle around the spectacular rock formations to see them up close. No one on our tour had kayaking experience but this wasn’t a problem as our guide Damian was very encouraging and thoroughly professional. The pace was leisurely so no one had trouble keeping up and we could enjoy the scenery in full. Damian’s knowledge of the local history, geology, geography, and First Nations legends was shared enthusiastically with our group. Our destination was the beach at Eatonville where we could explore before enjoying a delicious lunch. The tide ebbed as we ate lunch so that our return trip allowed us to see more of the rock piles and the shore line that had been submerged on the trip out.

It was a very nice July day that turned out to be even better when we took Three Sister sea kayaking tour with our guide Emmett. He was very knowledgeable guy with strong a clear voice that is a big plus on open water with wind.
We paddled 5 km one way to our lunch stop and 3 km back (without any pitstops).
It was a low tide, so we could walk into a cave that is not accessible during a high tide.
At our lunch site we had about 40 minutes to wonder around, take pictures, collect some rocks (I found olivine and agate) and investigate geological features of the shoreline.
The equipment worked as intended, Emmett adjusted rotor pedals individually and we had no problem to control the kayak with it.

This is a well run kayak tour company. Communication before and after the tour was professional, the kayaks and gear were excellent and both guides were knowledgeable and made us all feel comfortable on the water. I went alone, but we were a group of ten with two guides. It was loads of fun, a wee bit challenging at times, but I would definitely do another tour with these folk.

An amazing day trip. Weather was perfect, sun and intermittent fog, water was very calm. Incredible views of the cliffs and formations can only be seen from the water. The guides were experienced and very personable fun to be with. Lunch was delicious even included a zucchini birthday cake!
I highly recommend Nova Shores for a memorable adventure on the water.
