An amazing day out hiking in the beautiful hills of the Peak District. This course is excellent for those who want to learn the basics of navigation or just refresh skills that have long been forgotten. The teaching was very easy to understand, covered all the basics you would need to be able to navigate yourself around various locations and under different circumstances, along with lots of practical exercises to enhance your learning. Paul, our instructor, was amazing and a very knowledgeable and skilled teacher. He made the day not only extremely informative but also great fun!!!👍👍👏👏 I would definitely recommend PureOutdoors to anybody wishing to improve their skills of being in the outdoors.

Loved it and learnt so much. Excellent, tailored, expert instruction for three improving climbers learning to lead climb. The instructor, James, was a brilliant communicator and teacher with clear expertise and passion for climbing.

My son did the outdoor bouldering day, I tagged along as an observer. Dan and Matty were brilliant instructors not just around the bouldering techniques but also around safety, choosing and setting up and how to treat the environment properly. Matty certainly challenged, improved and supported the group he had which my son was in. Would definitely recommend Pure Outdoors as they make sure everyone whatever ability has a great day and comes away much improved, more knowledgeable, very happy and totally exhausted!

We booked a half day weaselling and abseiling for our youth group (11-15s). Everyone had a wonderful time. Matty the instructor kept it fast moving and fun with just the right level of challenge. He also threw in some really good teamwork stuff with the young people. Highly recommended activity with an outstandingly good provider. We would definitely use them again.

Great fun caving in the Peak District. Stephen gave fantastic insights into the history and geology whilst keeping us safe underground. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to try something a bit different... but bring spare socks!

Excellent experience on the Introductory Caving course. A very different but highly enjoyable day crawling, walking. squeezing and climbing over, under and between rocks. Led by Chris this was a fantastic way to explore what's under your feet in Derbyshire. Chris was an excellent guide, always encouraging, guiding us through the caves and puddles. He was very informative and also entertaining with his wealth of stories about caving exploits - though not always with happy endings! Glad I didn't hear them beforehand! It was hard work and muscles ached the following day. If you don't mind getting a bit wet - especially in your wellies this is a fun, enjoyable and very different experience. Highly recommend

Had a brilliant time on the two day beginner's rock climbing course. Instructors (Rachel and also Monica on the first day) were wonderful, can't praise them enough! Age range went from 15 to 62 (myself), but everyone was very well accommodated and the instructor gave us all the right amount of personal challenge whilst we always felt completely safe. I learned a lot, and would definitely come back again if I get opportunity.

My 14 year old son and I joined a group for a day of horizontal (no ropes) caving. It was great to be able to get to see two contrasting cave systems in the day. I’d done some caving 30+ years ago and had forgotten how much fun it could be. My son particularly enjoyed the opportunity to show how he could do things that his middle aged father could not… Our leader, Chris, was great not just from his obvious competence but also from the additional detail he gave on how to cave safely and how he explained the detail of what we were seeing. Looking forward to coming back and trying out vertical caving.

A great day despite the weather! Guy was a fantastic teacher and designed the day to our needs. I left feeling confident and inspired.

An amazing weekend in the Aviemore, Grampians, winter walking. We went up a slope using ice axe using a technique called daggering, at the top the sun was setting as we came down the ridge, has to rate as one of the highlights of my life. Guide was great, and group was excellent company

My sister and I did the one day navigation course with Pure Outdoor Ltd and we both had a fantastic day. The company is very easy to deal with and their communication is excellent. Our instructor Rick was fantastic - very knowledgeable and supportive with endless amounts of patience! It was a very small group and at the beginning Rick made a special effort to ask what we each wanted to achieve and specifically take away from the day. This was appreciated because he then tailored his teaching to suit us and our requirements/experience. We were all fairly novice at map reading and had never used a compass before but by the end of the day we felt much more confident to go out and plan walks for ourselves. Hugely enjoyable but educational at the same time - highly recommended!
