Itinerary
For this tour of Charleston, meet your guide at the big red barn at Palmetto Carriage Works on Guignard Street. Once you check in, hop aboard an old-fashioned, horse-drawn carriage (it’s covered overhead, so do keep in mind that the tour happens rain or shine).

Ride through Charleston’s historic area, learning about the history of some of its old mansions as you ride along. Your guide will point out other key places such as St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and the Charleston County Courthouse.

Hear fascinating stories about the city, including pirate raids, the American Civil War, plantations, and even the Revolutionary War.

After cruising about 30 blocks, your tour ends back at the departure point.

Lots of history

It packs a lot into a one-hour tour. You can't see the whole city because each tour is randomly assigned a particular sector of the city, but you'll see plenty. We found the history related to the Great Charleston Earthquake to be particularly fascinating. After...More

We had no problem getting tickets that day at the office. There are a lot of tours leaving at regular intervals so finding a tour time should not be a problem.
